I doubt they have the speed to match us. Last year was good but I know they are not Greeneville or Alcoa and can't reload everywhere and I think they lost too much

Yeah the guys will probably take that game a bit more personal. Especially if DB does what they have done in the past and in between plays they talk over the PA about the different times DB beat us. On this Date..blah blah blah

No problem. Realistically I could see us losing 3 games this season. DB, SH, Greeneville. However I believe we could upset SH and DB but I don't really see us getting Greeneville this year. But stranger things have happened and we have a coach that will have us ready and dangerous. The road games early will hurt us though.

West ridge scrimmage EHS won 28-7 I believe. Defense sacked their qb 6 times. Looked solid Union scrimmage I caught bits and pieces of but from what I saw it was similar to WR. So earlier I said the biggest q is our offense after watching the jamboree. We had trouble moving the ball and couldn't make the big plays. Defensively we are solid. The guys swarm the ball and seem to be able to find their way to the qb so we should be able to put a lot of pressure on QBs this year. Like most years we dont have a lot of size but we have a lot of speed. Until we get things clicking in the offense expect some lower scoring and possibly closer games this season.

Them WRs will be a handful. Greeneville has some tall ones

Could be close either way. Our Defense looks solid. If we had a question mark it would no doubt be our offensive side.

Elizabethton defense looks solid.

Unlike previous years Elizabethton hasn't been nearly as good as they have since Witten took over. If DB thinks they can just roll out of the locker room like previous meetings they should have a big surprise waiting for them.

For Northeast TN 6a is DB vs Science Hill and 5a is definitely the musket bowl Crockett vs boone

Normally I'd agree about a weak schedule however I also feel the coach plays a big role. We've had relatively the same level schedule year in and year out. The fact EHS has made it to state and won twice recently says in our case its more about the coaching than it is about a schedule. Good teams overcome a hard schedule or an easy schedule. I think a lot of times we use scheduling as an excuse to justify the teams play. We lose early in the playoffs they say it was bc we weren't prepared due to an easy schedule. We win the whole thing with the same schedule the schedule argument goes out the window. TL/DR I don't believe scheduling plays as big a role as people think it does when it comes to high school football.

3 years max. He took a team that was loaded with talent and turned them into a middle of the road at best team last season. He left Furman and they went further than they did when he was there. He's lost many key players to the portal. He was a great high school coach but hasn't proven to be able to get it done. ETSU was a team that could have gone been a double digit win team with their roster alone but we wound up dropping games to teams that shouldn't have been able to compete. He came in to a situation(playoff exit to eventual national champs) and roster most coaches would kill to have and he squandered it.

Wish he could find some offense at ETSU. Hot seat

EHS played good. Can't be upset with the effort but can be upset with the FT difference

If I had any info I'd gladly post it instead of playing coy. But I haven't heard anything solid outside of Maupin

Can anyone explain to me how TN high with 2 losses gets another game? Tabernacle got cheated. They never should have had to play a team with 2 losses in a double elimination tournament

Yeah I figured Meck would win by more but DB hung with them for a while. I think Oliver..big might. .might have given them a slight chance at pulling an upset

They called a flagrant 2 against Pace. Their coach said it was bullsh*t and yelled it at the ref. Is DB at full strength or is anyone missing?

GC shouldn't have been in this game. Tabernacle was playing 5 on 8

There must have been a lot of teams decline if they had to go this far down the list to bring in Gate City

I think trinity wasn't as good as advertised. Greeneville should get blown out by Myers Park.

Best game of the day. But then again it doesn't involve a local team so that checks out. Maybe it's just me but I could never imagine spending 15 just to walk around and talk like all these groups of middle school and some high school kids.

If I read that correctly. Tabernacle has a few 8th graders. #24 8th grader is starting
