  1. Just felt the need to post on this thread due to the lack of Brainerd Football dads participation...
  2. It has been 671 days or 57,974,400 seconds or 966,240 minutes or 16,104 hours or 95 weeks (rounded down) since the boys in green and gold have scored 33+ points on Bill Horton field. Only the third time this has happened in the past 1388 days or 119,923,200 seconds or 1,998,720 minutes or 33,312 hours or 198 weeks (rounded down). Glad to see OC Joshua Troy Owensby restoring the glory his mentor created. I'll leave you with some of the best life advice I've ever received, "For with Walt nothing shall be impossible."
  3. Walt Cameron developed top caliber athletes and future leaders of the community, namely Kevin Revis. Just as Head Coach Jason Fitzgerald and the offensive mastermind we know as Walt Cameron were prodigies of the late great Coach Bill Horton, look for Revis to fill the sure to be vacant head coaching position at RCHS in the next 4-10 years. As Walt once told me, "Man may his fate foresee, but not prevent ... 'Tis better to be fortunate than wise." Revis can not and will not resist his fate, and thankfully for Walt he is both fortunate and wise therefore this quote didn't apply to him.
  4. As long as Walt Cameron isn't on the sidelines of Bill Horton field don't expect much offensive production. Looking down on that sideline and not seeing him brought tears to my eyes this past season. These boys sure are missing out on a good role model. Breaks my heart..
  5. Too long...didn't read. Bottom line: Cook is one of the least qualified coaches being talked about for this job. If some of you people didn't know him personally you wouldn't want him to be our coach. People getting jobs just because of who they are/who they know/who they're related to is what got us into this mess in the first place. To get things back in line, we're going to need a self-made man like Walt Cameron (2008 Region 4-4A Offensive Coordinator of the Year).
  6. I laugh out loud at you people complaining about us not hiring the SCES middle school coach. There is only one man qualified to take our program from the smoldering ruins it's now in and restore it to its former glory. He is a man of virtue, a man of character, a man of experience and hard work, and a true Rhea Countian. With nerves a steel and the mind of a scientist, Walt Cameron has everything it takes to get the job done. Let's hope Messimer, Rhueling, and Levenbad can make the right decision this time around.
  7. It's a shame that those in power could force a man like WALT CAMERON out. Such a role model and mentor to the boys. Hopefully this old guy they've hired will keep WALT around in a sort of consultant position.
  8. I sure is glad to see that sumbody likes that fat man what wears the shorts and sweat cloths in the midl of sumer.

  9. Rhea County is losing a very special coach , and probably some of his staff. It saddened me to see this yesterday and to read the newspaper this morning even makes me more sad. Walt Cameron is not only a coach but a friend that helped many- many kids with their future. And yes everyone can be replaced , but not everyone can do what certain coaches do. Wins and loses are important , but molding young men and placing them in schools to better themselves are too. Walt has done this with class and I applaude him for that. He will coach again and will continue being a winner in my book. Thanks for the memories.
