  1. Just felt the need to post on this thread due to the lack of Brainerd Football dads participation...
  2. It has been 671 days or 57,974,400 seconds or 966,240 minutes or 16,104 hours or 95 weeks (rounded down) since the boys in green and gold have scored 33+ points on Bill Horton field. Only the third time this has happened in the past 1388 days or 119,923,200 seconds or 1,998,720 minutes or 33,312 hours or 198 weeks (rounded down). Glad to see OC Joshua Troy Owensby restoring the glory his mentor created. I'll leave you with some of the best life advice I've ever received, "For with Walt nothing shall be impossible."
  3. Walt Cameron developed top caliber athletes and future leaders of the community, namely Kevin Revis. Just as Head Coach Jason Fitzgerald and the offensive mastermind we know as Walt Cameron were prodigies of the late great Coach Bill Horton, look for Revis to fill the sure to be vacant head coaching position at RCHS in the next 4-10 years. As Walt once told me, "Man may his fate foresee, but not prevent ... 'Tis better to be fortunate than wise." Revis can not and will not resist his fate, and thankfully for Walt he is both fortunate and wise therefore this quote didn't apply to him.
  4. As long as Walt Cameron isn't on the sidelines of Bill Horton field don't expect much offensive production. Looking down on that sideline and not seeing him brought tears to my eyes this past season. These boys sure are missing out on a good role model. Breaks my heart..
  5. Too long...didn't read. Bottom line: Cook is one of the least qualified coaches being talked about for this job. If some of you people didn't know him personally you wouldn't want him to be our coach. People getting jobs just because of who they are/who they know/who they're related to is what got us into this mess in the first place. To get things back in line, we're going to need a self-made man like Walt Cameron (2008 Region 4-4A Offensive Coordinator of the Year).
  6. I laugh out loud at you people complaining about us not hiring the SCES middle school coach. There is only one man qualified to take our program from the smoldering ruins it's now in and restore it to its former glory. He is a man of virtue, a man of character, a man of experience and hard work, and a true Rhea Countian. With nerves a steel and the mind of a scientist, Walt Cameron has everything it takes to get the job done. Let's hope Messimer, Rhueling, and Levenbad can make the right decision this time around.
  7. It's a shame that those in power could force a man like WALT CAMERON out. Such a role model and mentor to the boys. Hopefully this old guy they've hired will keep WALT around in a sort of consultant position.
  8. Rhea County is losing a very special coach , and probably some of his staff. It saddened me to see this yesterday and to read the newspaper this morning even makes me more sad. Walt Cameron is not only a coach but a friend that helped many- many kids with their future. And yes everyone can be replaced , but not everyone can do what certain coaches do. Wins and loses are important , but molding young men and placing them in schools to better themselves are too. Walt has done this with class and I applaude him for that. He will coach again and will continue being a winner in my book. Thanks for the memories.
  9. Walt Cameron is not a quitter.. His legacy shall continue through his prodigy, Coach Josh Owensby. Coach O's high powered offense has torn opposing defenses a new rectum the past 2 years, much like Walt Cameron's. Owensby's high school athletic reign rivals that of Walt's, both shining bright on the football field as well as the basketball court. Coach Owensby borrowed what I like to call Cameronian offensive concepts and perfected them. He played a vital role in the immediate turn around of Bledsoe Co. football. Owensby, much like Cameron is loved by many and hated by few and was voted Mr. RCHS in the early 2000's. At the least he should be named OC if he chooses to apply. Coach Cooks departure leaves a void at SCMS for a P.E position.. COME HOME O!
  10. I will dance in the streets of Evensville when Fitzgerald's reign has ended tomorrow afternoon. Our only hope is that Coach Cameron comes back and reclaims the head coaching position.
  11. The more details I hear about this the sicker it makes me. I am broken on the inside. Luckily Fitzgerald will be gone Monday.
  12. HAHA. I have to question the intelligence of any man who'd choose a middle school coach over a true legend like Walt Cameron.
  13. At the end of the day, the Eagle's offensive firepower was just too strong for Grace. I look forward to seeing what the Eagle's offense will look like next season with a new quarterbackÂ
  14. As far as I know, you can hand the ball off to anyone you want. Unfortunately, the loopholes that allowed Walt Cameron to create the original A-11 offense have been closed and tackle eligible plays are no longer legal in high school ball. All this talk about Grace blowing the other team out is irrelevant. The high flying Rhea Co offense will hang at least 50 on these private school kids.
  15. With all this talk about Grace breaking records, I'd like to congratulate Rhea Co QB Cameron Tallent on setting the single season passing record under Coach Cameron's tutelage.
  16. I could never fill those shoes (or that jacket). I'm just a casual observer giving credit where credit is due. As far as the prayer issue is concerned, I'm convinced that there will be prayer in Eagle Stadium as long as Coach Cameron is prowling the sidelines looking to dismantle opposing defenses.
  17. Warren Co fans, I can't blame you for being upset with your coaches. After watching us hang 44 on you guys last year, who wouldn't be a little jealous. I think before you make the trip down tomorrow you need a heads up on what you're up against. There is a man who dwells in the hills of southern Rhea County. His coaching resume? Superb. His offensive prowess? Brilliant. Play calling? Mind boggling. As the architect of the high flying RCHS offenses of the past half decade, Coach Walt Cameron has touched countless lives and served as a true molder-of-men in regards to the youth of Rhea County High School. Born and raised in Dayton, this child prodigy helped lead local Dayton City School to several undefeated seasons. In high school, he was handed the keys to the kingdom that is Rhea County Football, and changed the face of Eagle football forever. As a player, he helped to implement strategies that would ultimately lead RCHS to a state title game in 1986. Almost thirty years later, Coach Cameron still strikes fear into the hearts of opposing defensive coordinators. Philosophically, the genius of Coach Cameron's plan lies in it's almost child-like simplicity. It seems like no matter what opposing defenses decide to throw at our boys, our offensive guru's schemes stand the test of time. 4-3 defense? Iso. 9 in the box? Counter. 11-man suicide blitz? You know what's comin', but you can't stop it---the trap ran with surgeon like precision. Throw in a bubble screen along with a few play action passes and it's just not fair anymore. So to those making the trip to beautiful Evensville tonight, sit back, relax, and prepare to watch some offensive fireworks at one of the greatest venues in East Tennessee.
  18. I think you mean Coach Cameron, not FItz.
