  1. Hey what happened to that guy whos ankle did a 180? i was in shock when i saw it lifted in the air.

Great job on the win and i look forward to maryville playing yall next year

Michael Bonfini suffered a dislocated and fractured ankle. Dr. Mathien was able to get the dislocation back in place on the field. If he had not done so, they would have had to cut on him at the ER. Kelly, the trainer. says that he will require surgery and have some plates and screws inserted into his ankle. The good thing is that he is only a sophmore. Thanks for asking.

  2. I just wanted to point out that the Mitchell fans were respectful and nothing bad like throwing helmets went down. I mean of course they had their tempers flare on the field, but it was nothing major. They were much more classy then white house. And even on here, many of the Mitchell fans said congratulations. At the same time though, White house fans and anderson county fans are the ones who are trying to act like we didn't deserve it. Mitchell will make it very far next year, count on it. they are good.

Also, no one seams to realize or notice how many turnovers Catholic forces. Every game I have been to there has been numerous fumble recoveries and interceptions. That is one of the intangibles that most people factor into the equasion. I think that Catholic is just a very well rounded team, and Pemberton pulled a few surprises this year especially in the playoffs. He went for 2 point conversions all year. It burnt us last year because we missed an extra point against AE, and who would have thought of going for an onside kick to open up the second half of a championship game. The game was way to close for that. That took a "set", if you know what I mean. I think that alot of teams this year simply got out coached.Give Pemberton his due.

  3. Just keep drinking the koolaid LUCKYCHARM. Several KEY contributors to your team have not spent their entire lives in the Catholic school system. Your QB, two of your starting RBs and handful of linemen etc. Even your best lineman came from Upper East TN with a horrendous juvenile issue to boot.

Enjoy your state championship this year... next year will be MUCH tougher!

Your wrong, The Williamson's go to church with me. They went to Saint Mary's in Oak ridge for a while. Older brother choose to go to Central to play basketball. Ninety percent of the team is Catholic. By the way, I don't need any kool aid to drink, thank you very much.

  4. That is just SO typical of Catholic. For years they have made t-shirts in advance of big games. Some of them they have had to eat and some of them they got to use by virtue of a last second win. Don't tell the folks at Catholic that they're cocky because they'll be offended.

The sad thing is, it's not the kids or coaches who have the attitude. It's some of their parents who live vicariously through their son's football career.

    You're right... it's just wrong.

If that is how they want to spend their booster money, that is their business. I just wish that all you Catholic haters and bashers would just grow up. This is a class program, coaches, and a great group of parents. My daughter went to Catholic schools from kindergarten thru 12th grade at Catholic. I would not have done it any other way. The sacrifes my husband and I have made were more than worth it. There are no superstars on this team, just a bunch of great kids that have grown up in the Catholic school system all their life, I am tickled to death for them. Gp Irish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. Just got home from the Boro. What a great day for the Irish!!!!!!!!! Great game , I knew it would be some hard hitting. Football is a contact sport, and these kids know this going into it. Congrats to Mitchell for a great season. I have known all year long that these kids would make it here. Catholic is such a well rounded team with no superstars. They just play so well together and love each other so much. I am so proud of them and their acomplishments this year. Congratulations to Alcoa and Maryville also. I am so sorry for the Bonfini kid. I was right in front of where it happened. It did look pretty gross. The stadium erupted when he returned from the hospital in the fourth quarter. Hope he can rehab before soccer season. Thanks Coach Pemberton for bringing the gold ball to the Bluff.

  6. First off, I am an Alumni parent who still enjoys going to all the games. We have played lots of opponenets from all over the state. When my daughter started Catholic, we were still in Division II. I have to say that this is the first time that I have ever witnessed such blatant disregard for other individuals. I got there 30 minutes early and found that Catholic sitting section was full from the oposition. We were told that our cheerleaders were asked to move from their assigned roped off section. This is where our student section and our pep band sits. I am unclear if it was fans or WH cheerleaders who made the request. That should have been a clue early on that you are sitting in the wrong section. Granted Catholic did not do their job and rope off sections with caution tape. Not that it would have meant anything to this crowd. I witnessed several displays of blatant disreguard for the welfare of our players on the field. I heard one gentleman scream repeatedly, 'RIP HIS @#$$$$# HEAD OFF!!! That is real classy and christian like. He was referring to #22 Dorian Cozart. We have played Livingston Academy many times and always had very good times with fans and players. Afew bad apples in the crowd does not sterotype us into a bad group of people. Drinking goes on everywhere, not that it is right, but I have to say that we have a very good fan base and our players and coaches are a class act, always. I am sorry that your team did not win, but I think that Catholic wanted it more, and proved that the second half. Needless to say the same gentleman who was screaming the first half, did not have much to say the second half. I feel that it was a very good ballgame and both sides should be proud of their team. Sad to hear that you cannot support us at State. Sour Grapes.

  7. First - I am a parent from White House and most of the things that this person said is true. (I didn't see the bottles but did smell the smell and see the evidence of drinking)

    1. A parent from KC DID grap the arm of one of our cheerleaders and push her over. We were later told that the mother had been drinking and was carried off the campus. Several times she approached our cheerleaders telling them what to do. KC cheerleaders found this amusing. How would you feel if your child was cheering and a parent from the other side grabbed your child's arm and pushed them over in front of many? In some cases this could be assault. Just think a grown woman assaulting a minor. This cheerleader happened to be a Freshman which puts her at 14 or 15 years old. This woman had to be at least 40ish.

    2. Yes, your student section stood on the ramp and if you had blue on, you had to push to get through. Your students also chose to play ball in the parking lot around lots of cars playing music with very ugly words in the songs. I know kids listen to these songs but can't believe that a private school with a religous name would allow this on campus. I would also like to know what would have happened if a student missed a ball and it hit the hood of a car and did many dollars of damage? Who would have been responsible?

    3. We arrived two hours before the game. There was a section that was roped off with caution tape. Caution tape normally means do not go in this area. The cheerleading section was roped off which would mean - do not go in this area. NO OFFICIAL from KC game and asked us to move. NO OFFICIAL game and told us the section at the other end was not ours UNTIL 40 minutes before the game. At this point, there were 600 plus fans there. KC did not even fill the section that was supposedly supposed to be ours. IMO all schools should have a home side and a visitor side. The only place we have come across this prior is at another Catholic school - ND - we did not have any of these problems at ND. KC officials had plenty of time to let the WH fans know what was going on from 5:00 - 6:20 and they did not. I was there and no official came to the area that I was sitting in and said anything. They walked in front of us talking on phones BUT never said anything until about 6:20. To the majority of people, roped off sections mean do not enter or in this case do not sit here. Remedy to this problem get a visitor side to your stadium. Are there any public schools like this. I know it would save alot of money for the school systems if we did not provide a visitors section to sit in and then gave the visotrs a small area to sit in and then tell them that they can't sit anywhere but that section and you can bring your chairs and blankets and sit on the dirt. Very Christian like isn't it?

    4. Check the film on the post game activity.

    5. We lost a game for many reasons and one of those reasons was KC's team. They do have a good team and when given the opportunities that WH gave them, they took advantage of them. That does make a good team. Were our boys upset, yes. Were they frustrated, yes. As would KC's boys had been if the score was turned around.

Now, I am going to get on my soap box, so bear with me. It is very hard for me as a parent to go to a game against a private school that is backed by fundings from a religious organization and see the things that I saw last night. We play schools from many areas during the year. We play good ole country schools and we play intercity schools. After last night, I will take the intercity schools anyday. These schools are supposed to be rough and tough and they are. They use language and gestures that many find vulgar but when you go to a school backed by church dollars and donations and see and hear the same thing, it is very disturbing. I know I am going to be blasted on this forum but I really don't care. Basically what I saw was hypocrisy. I know that no one is perfect. I guess I expect it to be different at these schools. Maybe I am wrong. I don't know. I guess I just didn't expect to see a drunk parent grabbing one of our girls.

Thank you for the compliment on WH fans. Most are very nice people who are passionate about their football team. I did not have the opportunity to speak to any KC fans but I am sure that most of their fans are nice and great to talk to. It is always sad when a few spoild the bunch for many (and I am talking about both sides because I know WH has a few that spoil it for us). I know that KC parents are passionate about their football also. I am very sorry for the seating situation but it should have been taken care of when we arrived NOT 40 minutes before the game. It would have been much easier to move 50 - 100 people rather than 600 plus people. IMO

I will not be pulling for anyone next week. Football season is over for me this year. I am moving on and looking forward to next year. Thank you WH boys for a great year. Hold your head high, be proud, yes BDP proud. I love you all!

  8. T$$AA officials should be a little more high profile. You know that they are there in the crowd. They should have taken control of this situation, or had the Siegel security take care of it, bottom line. The minute profanity is used, they shoudl be tossed, no questions asked.

  9. We're pulling for you Stone. My husband and I were going to make the trip this morning, but after hearing about the crowds and paying to park, we decided otherwise. T$$AA has really made some blunders this year. Hopefully someone within the organization will wise up and make some smarter decisions next year. I was so hoping that it would be a Stone/Greenbrier final. Play hard and have fun! Luck from the Irish.

  10. I think that people sometime forget that there is no "I" in the word TEAM. Players are nothing if it were not for the rest of the team. This board is not to bash these teenagers. They love what they are doing on the court regardless if they play at the next level, which in most instances they will not. Catholic is out of the tournament this year, but my husband and I are coming Friday to see all of the championships games. Out daughter graduated last year, but we just love the game of volleyball. We want to see some good competition, regardless of who wins. Does anyone know whether Sara Fowler's parents ever post on the board? My daugher and Sara are sorority sisters, and are playing intramural volleyball together at UT. Though I would look them up Friday, if they are coming to the matches. I hope to see Greenbrier and Stone Memorial fight it out to the end. I know it would be an awesome match. See ya'll Friday in the BORO.

  11. Weather may now be a factor. Going to rain pretty good Friday, making for a very soggy field. It will be a contest of who can hold on to the ball, because they are both running teams. Hopefully, Catholic will keep the field covered before the game Friday. Catholic's field usually fairs pretty well in rainy conditions. It should be interesting

  12. Hey strawplains, we agree on something. You know, it does'nt take a rocket scientist to figure this out. IF they want ot make more money at the gate, you have to look at when you are scheduling these matches. Championships on SATURDAYS!!!!!!!!

  13. I don't think that TSSAA has ever planned this with parents, fans and schoolmates in mind. Why could they not have scheduled the State Tournament on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. The times and days are so important in order to get the crowds into Murfreesboro to make the money at the gate. Holding finals at or around noon on a Friday is just stupid. A few parents who can get off from work is about is good as it will get. I never did think I would see the day when volleyball would be held in such low regard. All I am saying is that each and everyone of the girls participating in the state tournament deservves better than this.

  14. I also think that this is an outrage. We at Catholic are no longer in the run for the title, but this is just not right. I don't care what team it is, this is what the girls work so hard for all year long. It is the big venue and the atmosphere at MTSU that gets the girls all pumped up about going to state. I know that Blackman and Siegel are nice venues for the games, but I am sorry, this is just like going to a weekend tournament. Nothing special about being in a high school gym. I do not feel like TSSAA, has thoroughly thought all of this out before making this decision. Did they even try to contact other facilities, like Belmont University or David Lipscomb? My daugher has been to Belmont University several times for Volleyball camps, and it is a very adequate facitity. Vey poor judgement on their part. Please don't give me the line that they don't have the money. The TSSAA is nothing but a cash cow.

  15. And, by the way, orcat is the one who started this mess in the first place. Sending out all the rumors and hearsay, when obviously he did know what the heck he was talking about. Mo one from Catholic ever mentioned Karn's name in all of this. Troublemakers, who slander and cause trouble should be banned from this site.

  16. Our season is over because of this whole situation. Mrs Tritt, you have no reason to get on here and post the stuff that you do, We should have had to play Stone Memorial, not AC in round 1. Recruiting is wrong. Alot of what goes on in sports is wrong. Shame on you.
