  1. Does anyone have any idea of how the regionals work for Div II AA East/Middle? TSSAA has info on substate, but it is really unclear to me as to how the East/Middle seadings will be determined. Are games just for seeding purposes or are they elimination (or both) ?? It would be great if someone could provide brackets and/or a playoff schedule. /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />
  2. Good observation. In addition, club teams play in divisions against other teams with generally "similar" skill level where this is not the case in HS ball.
  3. Thanks for all the information throughout this thread. My takeaway is a follows: 1. There is something that can be done to help prevent ACL injuries, i.e. PEP 2. We should encourage our schools and clubs to learn and correctly adopt such programes 3. If #2 doesn't work, do it individually. A final question .... I read the PEP and it appears fairly straightfoward. Does it require a "PEP Expert" to teach how to do the exercises properly? I'm sure teaching could help but it seemed the descriptions were quite clear as to the How's and What Not To Do's.
  4. Due to the excellent field, field condition was not a factor. The rain had paused before the game, and the ball was not skipping and footing was good. I think the result is not a surprise. Despite Baylor's talent, they are not a high scoring team as evidenced by the scores of their other games. Baylor always plays defensive ball. Even while possessing the ball much of the first half, they had four defenders and a holding midfielder playing back against 1 or 2 GPS forwards. GPS always plays good defense and their new Goal Keeper was superb. While the GPS Keeper made many saves in the first half, only one was a dangerous strike from short range. Baylor was also unable to capitalize on it's many corner kicks. It was a good fair game of defensive teams. Not always the most entertaining type play, but the end result is what really matters, not the score differential. However, it does make Baylor more susceptible to an upset along the way, or to the crap shoot chances of a game decided by PKs in the playoffs due to a low scoring tie in regulation.
  5. Baylor is actually 10-0-1 now. For some reason their last game was not posted on Eurosport. Who does the posting?
  6. That's what the State Tournament will tell us ....... let's be glad we don't live in California or Texas, or we'd have to have 50 games prior to the State Tournament.
  7. We don't need anymore games to satisfy parents curiosity on which end of the state has better soccer. These girls already play enough games, and many play year round with Clubs, ODP, Camps, etc. I would be more concerned about the right number of games with respect to the health and well being of our girls. I have personally witnessed 8 major leg injuries (6 acl's, 2 breaks) in the last six months, and I'm only going to a few more games than my own girl's games. If there is concern about the lack of games between the last regular season game and playoffs, that is a scheduling issue and not a # of games issue. There is certainly opportunity to move games from a heavy beginning season schedule to the later part of the season. Hey, I love watching my kid play as much as anyone else. But after watching all the injuries, I'm becoming more convinced that we might be overloading these girls and not paying enough attention to injury prevention programs. It's not a one or the other debate ....... we can have competitive soccer seasons and less injuries.
