That IS amazing how the news about Clinton beating AC made it in the next Sat. mornings' paper two weeks ago, futbolfan. Pics, too! Yes, history is about to made with TW being the all time leading passer in Tn. I'm sure he has the potential to accomplish this under Coach Gillum's system. That being said....... Any average quarterback could have done the same under Gillum with his system. I am one of the one's who doubted Tanner. I don't care to admit that. I STILL am not a huge fan of his qb skills. But too, also let me say, how very glad I am that this Maverick team has done as well as they have. I am very proud of all of them and very proud to say "I'm glad to be part of the herd!" Kudos to Tanner for hanging in there. Even though TW's numbers have proven me wrong, I'm very glad to see it....for the teams sake. Blakely, Wilson, Kesterson, Mabe, Marlow, Edwards, Mayes, Roberts, Kudos to you guys, also. Good Luck next week and GO MAVS! even with as many yards as the kid had i still wasnt really impressed with him, i was however, very impressed with the AC recievers ability to run in the open field and gain tons of yards after the catch, williams was picked repeatedly in pressure situations. sure the stats say stone had 3 turnovers and williams had 4 so it looks close on paper but anyone who saw the game knows that two of those turnovers hardly even count in the game, one was a recievers fault for giving up on a play after a pass was ruled a fumble and the lat one was a last second heave. williams has great potential to improve but as of now i still say he is mainly a texas tech type system QB.

does anyone know the reported attendance for this game? it had to be somewhere around 7000 but i dont know where id find that info.

well i might as well go ahead and choke down my portion of crow. AC was not the better team tonight they were the most resilent and the better coached one though. Clinton forced 5 turnovers to one and had the ball in the redzone countless times and just couldnt put this one away. Congrats to anderson county on the win, i wish i could honestly say that i hope you guys go all the way now but i cant lie, i hate and always will hate the mavs but tonight they came away winners, clinton boys hold your heads high, it might not have turned out the way u wanted but you still played your hearts out. AC u guys played your butts off too and definately had the louder crowd tonight which shocked and upset me. Great season boys and good luck to all of you at the next level.

Coming to graze? More like coming to be barbaqued. And yes the field was in bad shape last time but its been worked on a ton, so it should be set for a fast paced gam. AC fans shouldnt be too thrilled about that though, dont expect the cows to be able to sling it around the field no matter the conditions. I wonder how many passes williams will throw darians way tom night?

His dad was the track coach and a former kansas state player, darian lived with his mom in kansas and came to live with his dad in his soph summer. just a few months before the season started.

dont forget that stone also had a running back that rushed for 1300 yards and 17 tds and another with 400 and 5 tds so he was on a team that had other weapons and still put up awesome numbers, the 0 interceptions is crazy too, ive never seen a player with that kind of production and no picks in an entire season, hes now up to 11 games without a pick and has only thrown 4 in the last 22 games if you include last season.

I agree. Did you know AC beat us during our worst years in the school's history? bla bla bla as space would say. We won by 14 points last time, without our best player, which you know on coacht means a win for AC. Just like they beat Catholic evey time they lost to them. What Clintons back???? I think D123 is running out of things to say but I know its hard when you only have one good year out of 14 years GOOD JOB u say weve had them both for 4 years? u realize stone came in right before his soph season and barely had time to adjust to the system before starting, it was also his first varsity PT. weston has been with us for all four but even as athletic as he was his fresh and soph year he was nowhere near the football player he is now. the kid has gone from about 170 to 210 in three years. i played with stone and weston their soph years, we only had 35 kids dress for varsity each week and hardly any playmakers yet they were both still amazing, you say we've had the same staters the last three years? your crazy, in 07 it was a senior heavy team that only went 4-6 and it should have been a rebuilding year last year even from that seeing as we only had 4 seniors last year but they again improved behind the play of stone and hazle, this is the first year theyve had alot of returning starters across the board and u see what theyve done. also i dont wanna hear about how AC beat us down in our bad years under coach C and the early years of shattuck because the program was in such bad condition it was almost a shame to field a team. and as much as you guys beat us you didnt do too much in the playoffs urselves and u even played in a weaker division, sure you had AE and Catholic but i really doubt you could have done anything against maryville, west and central in those years. AC hasnt beat a single good team this year, clinton has won two, both against huge rivals. AC really reminds me a ton of rexas tech from last year, they put up huge passing numbers but have no consistancy in the running game or defense. Dont be fooled by Shelbyville's 5-5 record, they have played a tougher schedule than Clinton has IMO. If we come in thinking we have this game won before we even play it, then we will be in for a rude awakening! Stay focused and come in ready to play Dragons! not bein overconfident 92 just showin the stats and statin some facts lol i hope we dont have to use hazlehurst any though and he'll be able to have a chance to play AC atleast once his senior year.

When dfan started posting i thought he was a teenager like me who was either still in school or just out of it based on his vocabulary, maturity and word selection but from what im seeing he seems to have been watchin clinton football for many years so he must be atleast early middle aged and i would have expected more maturity from someone of that age. I'm just curious...What does Darian Stone pajama's look like? (I'm not a big Williams' fan BUT...do they (the pj's) have DS's qb stats on them? cause if that's the case, maybe DS should be wearing Tanner Williams pj's...YOU KNOW, THEY WOULD HAVE BIGGER NUMBERS ON THEM!!! Williams might have bigger numbers but it really isnt as impressive as stones if you look at the big picture, williams has huge numbers because of how one dimensional AC is. lets compare stats for the two players stone 1300 passing yards-13 td's- 0 int's, rushing 388 yards-8 td's. Williams 2344 yards passing-22 td's-7 int's, rushing -2 yards- 2 td's. total production stone-1688 yards-21 td's- 0 int's, williams 2347 yards-24 td's- 7 int's. not that far off on td's, williams has a big advantage on yards but the int's are a big factor. now lets look at teams, williams has to put up big numbers because AC has only rushed for 663 yards and 9 td's on the season and clinton, even without stones numbers, has rushed for 1621 yards and 21 td's. Stone is putting up great numbers on a team that doesnt even have to rely on the pass. Pretty impressive. AC reminds me of texaas tech from a year ago, huge production in the passing game but no balance. And with clintons speed in the secondary i dont see them being able to put up anywhere near the numbers they have lately. Stickin with the original pick of clinton 42-21.

not sure about that one, i hope he does it would be a great honor for a great young man, stone is def the flash for the team but weston is def the heart of it. i like to think of him as our own tebow, he plays with that kind of passion and is kinda built like a smaller version of him, his running game is also similar if you watch him, neither have break away speed really but are faster than billed and neither have really great moves but are just elusive enough and so strong that they rarely get hit hard enough on the first one to go down. they both also read lanes and blocks extremely well, i really hope he can make it to the next level, id love to see him play for a team like MTSU or TN Tech.

who does clinton dislike more AC or Powel? we have to dislike AC more cause its one of our two huge in-county rivalry games. but personally theyre neck and neck, hate list is as follows 1. powell/AC, AC def didnt help the hatred by planting their flag on the field i love so much two years ago, 2. OR, 3. west/central. i think that list is probably pretty accurate for most clinton ppl. and for the guy who said "sounds like the pot callin the kettle black" lets remember i played 2 years ago and our team talked some smack but not close to this years team and thats when powell was at their trash talkin peak too.

I think if coach Shattuck knew how time was on the clock he would have taken a knee and been happy to get a win 22-12 considering the condition of the field.Get over it you won be happy i honestly like the fact that they put one in at the end there against a powell team i have never had any respect for, as much as andy and his crew are stand up guys and good ppl they all hate powell and so do most of the players, powell has always been the biggest bunch of smacktalkin, cheapshot players ive ever seen and if clinton beat them 80-0 i would only applaud.

stone wont be able to win it on stats alone, if they take clutch play and efficiency, no ints, into account then he has a legit shot but this isnt a super pass happy offense, but when you have hazlehurst thats to be expected. i dont think weston will win it for defense though, hes def more than deserving but he doesnt have huge numbers to push him to the top which is understandable seeing as the team he plays for is on offense alot more than defense, he'll probably finish with around 75-80 tackles for the season which is good, but if joey allen didnt win it his senior year with around 110 tackles then i dont think weston can win it with those numbers especially since hes only in the top 25 in the area in one statistical category (tackles for loss). as far as winning it for running back he should win it hands down especially if he comes up big in the next two games. hes already on pace for around 1700 yards rushing and 22 touchdowns with a 9 yard avg. and he'll also finish with probably 200 recieving yards and 2 touchdowns thats nearly 2000 total yards and around 25 td's for the regular season, phenomenal stats on a great team with lots of other weapons, lets remember that stone and powell have combined to rush for over 600 yards and 11 touchdowns as well so its not like hes the only star on a bad team, hes putting up crazy numbers on a great team that doesnt even have to rely solely on the run. all im saying is that if he doesnt win mr. football for 5a it will be the biggest rip off since manning in the heisman.
