  1. Having seen both teams play, I don't see anyone resting starters at any time. Both teams are very good. I just hope Milan has depth because GP sure does. Close game though.
  2. Four returning starters - Center Paxson Spears, Tight End Nathan Couch, Guard Dylan Crews, Guard Desi Ammons (shared starting time with a senior this year), and Josh Trull, who got alot of time at Center this year. The tackle prospects will be Matt McClain, Cody Mitchell, Cody Cogdill, along with others as that is the position that will be the toughest to replace following Shane Greve and Mason Sharp.
  3. #32 is a very good running back, he plays fullback - although he doesn't play a whole lot (I don't understand why.) There are a couple other good running backs as well, however, Cunningham is the real deal. When people say you must stop him to win, they are not kidding. He has great size and speed, but it is his elusiveness that really gets you. Bottom line.....you had better tackle him, I mean gang tackle him. If you let him run free he will shake any of your defenders one on one. They base out of a 52 defense and will cram the box, unless you loosen them up with a few passes. They had some suspect tackling at times too though, which should fare well for the Bulldogs and Jobronski (sp?).
  4. Yes and pick your nose while your at it TS, you got a boogey hanging out. Mind your own business dude, this is a thread about LC next year, that is what we are talking about. If you don't like what we talk about - don't read it!
  5. Stat, to answer the question is it rebuilding or reloading, well - I think that depends greatly on the players that ARE coming back. The '09 Panthers will have some talent, no doubt. Can they replace Mason Sharp, Jake Tenison, Kane Crowell, Willie Frazier, Shane Greve, Andrew Lawson, Colton Mathis, Eric Wright, etc., etc. - certainly not. There will be no replacing those players or any of the seniors - you can't replace them - they were too good of players with too good of leadership to just flip a switch and replace them. However, the juniors, sophomores, and freshmen classes do have some talent, but got to ride the coattails of that great senior class in the past. Now, they have to step up their game and make their own mark. Yes, the new district will be much tougher than the old region, and yes, LC lost a ton of great players - but they have the talent to reload and make another run, it just depends on a lot of if's. If this happens, or if that happens it will be a great year. But, if this or that happens it could be a terrible year. The next class of seniors are the ones who will have alot of say in how good their last year will be.
  6. oooh look at me I'm "owcoa" I use giant fonts, I'm so cool! Tell me genius, how many LC games did you catch this year?
  7. I know that all of you "told you so" types will want to put this one on LC's schedule, but that would be inaccurate. Here is the bottom line - GP had more depth. Notice I didn't say more players or that the only reason they had depth was because of recruiting, none of that is true. LC"s first bunch matched up well with GP, however, GP was able to sub in people to keep their best players fresh - that is in no way a knock - more like a compliment. LC and schools its size will almost always deal with this because of numbers. And in rural areas - there are a select few athletes to choose from, unlike urban areas where there is just more people. You all can say I'm making excuses, but I'm not. It was a GREAT GAME with both teams showing alot of heart. GP was severely underrated. They will always be a contender, for as long as they play football. LC will continue to work hard and come back next year with that same never say die attitude they showed Friday night and no matter what their record ends up being, they will be able to be proud of themselves just like they were Friday night. Good luck to GP.
  8. Would you just do us all a favor and SHUT UP!!!! Nobody cares what you think, why are you so obsessed with us and who we schedule? I'm so sick and tired of you getting on our posts and dogging our teams when you don't know anything about us exept who we play. I tell you what, when these contracts are up, why don't you come down to Hohenwald and make out our schedule for us! I know for a fact Coach Sharp tried to schedule Lawrence County (4A next year) and Camden (9-1 this year), but they couldn't because of scheduling conflicts, and all this after losing all of those great seniors we had, and starting new people at just about every key position on offense and defense. But I guess Coach Sharp and the Panthers are scared, huh? How will you be able to say that our schedule is weak anymore? What on earth will you do? We will be playing the likes of 4A Marshall County, 4A Giles County, 4A Spring Hill, 4A Page, and playing them in games that will determine whether or not we even get in the playoffs or at the very least what seed we will be. So, yea, if Coach Sharp had to add Wayne County and Mt. Pleasant (two very good 1A schools) because the afore mentioned other two couldn't - or wouldn't play LC for whatever reason - then he will just have to be given a pass on this one - even by you. What kills me is that you, and people like you, have it in your mind that the LC coaching staff sits in their office when its time to schedule and when people like Camden, Milan, Huntingdon, Alcoa, Boyd, MBA, Ravenwood, McGavock, GP, CPA, BA, Ensworth, and Maryville call us to play - the coaches all just hide under their desk and weap out of fear of all these teams. Why don't you, or anyone else that bags on our "weak" schedule every year call the LC field house and ask Coach Sharp or any of the other coaches why they won't schedule anyone tough. Or, you could call all the afore mentioned teams and ask them why they didn't call LC to play. And how do you know for sure mbs, or anyone that uses your tired old excuse, that LC didn't try to schedule some of those teams? KNOW YOUR FACTS BEFORE YOU POST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. Stevie Wonder could see the sarcasm in his post Matt. We get it, you think our schedule was weak. Proving ground tomorrow night at Panther Stadium.
  10. Noone yanked your chain little pup, get back in your dog house!
  11. No worries, it's a common mistake outsiders make. We are stuck in a part of the state where people don't know a whole lot about us or our opponents, but we do play some good teams. We don't have a world beater schedule, but we didn't have a Stewart County type schedule either.
  12. Yes, there are only three finalists for back, and three for lineman in each classification.
  13. Gilbert should have been considered, that is a travesty. I said that when I heard the announcement, however, I don't know if I could in good conscience take anyone else off the list. And as far as us playing in a couple weeks, we have ALOT of work to do before we can worry about that, but it sure would be nice - nowhere like Johnnie Hale on the night after Thanksgiving. Good luck to the Dawgs (not that you will need it this week IMO)
  14. Your argument was that we played noone (coachT strength of schedule ratings have us at 46 and you all at 50) so our guy didn't deserve it. I'm sorry I misunderstood your post.
  15. Ah, Chucky don't worry about it. Every schedule rating system in America could say LC had the toughest schedule in the state and people would say it was still weak. Its a played out reasoning that will continue to get used until LC can prove it can get past the second or third round. If the Panthers want to shut those people up, they are going to have to beat GP and win next week, maybe, or maybe that won't even be enough. Who knows? All LC can and should do is worry about beating Goodpasture, a very good football team that has already earned that respect.
  16. Wow, how disrespectful to our player. Way to represent a normally classy fanbase guys. Great job this year Mr. Gilbert, you had a great year and I'm sure you will be a nominee next year.
  17. Congratulations to Kane Crowell and Mason Sharp of Lewis County for being nominated! What a great honor and it coudn't have happened to two better guys.
  18. Wow, I can't believe I actually thought there might be ONE week this season where LC's opponents' fans would all be rational. Up until you started posting, all of them seemed to be just plain ol' good fans that bragged on their team but didn't make ridiculous statements. I must say though, we are glad to have you CougarBrown, LC's players don't need the bulletin board stuff to get motivated, but it never hurts.
  19. The higher seeded team hosts the quarterfinals in all cases. In the semis, if the two teams have the same seeding, the bottom half of the bracket gets the home field advantage in even years, and the top half gets home field in the odd years. For example, if LC and Milan move along to the semis - Milan hosts cause they are at the bottom of the bracket. If LC and JCS, Huntingdon, or anyone but Milan play in the semis, LC hosts. If Milan makes it to the semis, they host no matter what.
  20. Call me a homer ks, but I truly believe LC would play with all of those teams. I know they played up in classification and LC played down a couple of times, but other than a close first game of the year and the Hickman Co game, the Panthers have not been challenged alot. I could be way off, but I think the Panthers would at least play close games with all those teams you listed, if not beat a couple of them. Just my opinion.
  21. yea, but we all know that most people who havn't watched the two teams play much will pick Goodpasture to roll. We have already seen that on this thread already. We will hear all week how much tougher GP's schedule was than LC's and many people truly believe that. I have no problem with that logic, but obviously hope its not valid. That argument will be the dead horse that gets beaten all week. The LC players, coaches, and fans have heard it all before. And it is true that LC has had great regular seasons with dissappointing results in the playoffs many times before. Also GP has dominated the series year in and year out. And they are the three time defending state runner-ups. LC players, coaches, and fans also know all of these facts very well. However, my personal opinion is that this year's team is different from LC teams of the past. I think they will be ready to play and will win this one against GP, but it will be close. GP is well coached and always talented, but so is LC. It should be a great game.
  22. Nobody is underestimating them. Matter of fact, I would say most will pick GP to win due to our "weak" schedule. LC hasn't underestimated anyone all year, no need to start now.
  23. Dude, we get it, you think he plays dirty. He is a relentless blocker, that is for sure. He is coached to block to the whistle blows and he might have blocked some of your guys a little longer than you would like. But give it up already seriously. You all come up with the worst excuses and cry more than any group of people I have ever seen in my life. You just refuse to eat that crow you all earned by saying LC WOULD NOT!!!! win by 37 again. And we won by 41. I guess I would be bitter too. The referees are paid to handle these situations and its not up to you to police it. If he gets out of hand, he will get flagged. If he gets way too out of hand, he will get tossed and miss the next two rounds of the playoffs. I can assure you all the LC players know the rules and do their best to abide by them. #74 knows better than to get too out of hand because he doesn't want to lose his chance to play every game he can in his senior year. So just back off, enjoy the success the Tigers had this season, and go talk on their thread about next year. Stay off of here if you can't find anything else to talk about other than bashing our players who dominated you. By the way, the "cheap shot" he got flagged for last night was a head butt he gave a kid that was pursuing the ball carrier and it occurred right after the whistle. Its not like he ran all the way across the field to take out one of your kids' knees or something. I am normally a very mild poster that stays away from controversy on here, especially the dumb stuff that comes up. But I also support our kids and I am sick and tired of you calling our players dirty.
  24. I think you will be fine, as long as you are pulling for us. I think our fans will be glad to have the extra support! I don't know about the JYD, though. That might be crossing the line! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
