  1. Stat, you are obviously a great Panthers fan, always supporting the players and that is awesome, LC needs more like you. However, isn't it about time to let the subtle shots at the coaches go? I know all of the coaches and if that makes me one of "Bobby's boys" I'm proud to have that title, so maybe I'm biased. The coaches gave their all to these players just like they do all their players every year. Matter of fact, they might have even worked harder this year with all the struggles. Those of us that know those seniors know and appreciate their efforts and I know the coaches did too, especially Coach Sharp. And given his struggle he is about to undertake I think its time to let it go. Please don't let the misperception of his attempt to motivate his team be looked at as him or the coaches not believing in the players (the now infamous 2-8 thing at Lexington.) It was simply meant one way and taken another way by some on CoachT. My prayers are with Coach Sharp and I know he will beat it.
  2. Please keep us updated on his progress. Prayers from The HILL. Very classy, 66 and chucky.
  3. I have no beef with you having questions about coaching decisions, that is your right. I'm just saying the Mt. Pleasant game our offense was out of sync all night to a pretty bad Tigers squad. I was just giving my opinion on that particular backfield as well - that's what you asked for. And for the record, I have no problem with the kid with speed - and he does have speed no doubt - from what I know about him he is a top notch kid. I was just clarifying whether or not you were kin to him that way people who read this board would take that into account before considering your opinions on the team. But, since you are not kin to him, then that obviously has no bearing and your opinion is as valid as any. No harm no foul stat.
  4. The one they started the season with...and gave up on after the first game. Seemed like you would have more options......diffently more speed, and (not putting down the present QB) with the other as QB, there is more of a threat from that position. Don't claim to be a Football Guru, but it just seemed to me (rest of the stat crew also) that the offense would be much tougher to defend against, and from what I hear, it would also put the fastest player on the team in the backfield. That being said.....this is the hardest playing bunch I have seen at Lewis in ages. This squad has takent the best of so many teams this year, and yet play as hard......not let me correct that, harder each game. This is a very special bunch in my opinion. I just wish the fans would support them like they have in the past. I guess winning easy games spoiled them. This is ONE TOUGH BUNCH playing now. I believe next year they will be able to have a better record..mainly because so many they have faced this year is loaded, and will lose alot. Well the offense didn't seem to be too tough to defend against in that one game that your prefferred backfield started in. For most of the season we were Mt. Pleasant's only win of the season. That's all I'll say about that. Aren't you kin to the "fastest kid on the team?" That may be total speculation but thats just what I have heard from other CoachTers.
  5. Hey stat, What's your ideal LC backfield? You always talk about the flip flopping of the backfield but from what I can see the last several weeks has been the same. I'm just curious as to which one you think LC should go with?
  6. I think most Lewis fans that read this thread (what few there are left) will recognize what you were trying to say WOMG, we appreciate your compliments. And 926, you havn't always been the most staunch LC supporter in the world on CoachT but we appreciate you taking up for us, although I think you were confused.
  7. You've got to be kidding. There is no way Fairview's defense can hold Giles to 13. They may score 24 on us but I highly doubt that as well. Giles wins big, again. I wish we were still playing in the good ole region 5-3A. I miss all the competition and watching good games. Fairview is about as out of line claiming a victory over Giles as we would be next week. Nothing wrong with supporting your team though and believing in them, I respect that. But I just wanted to say that before you long too hard for the 5-3A days Mike, I just wanted to ask you a question. Don't you guys have like 26 or 27 seniors? Man that is alot to lose in one year. I guess what I'm saying is enjoy beating up on all the little guys right now cause the pickings may not be so easy in the very near future. But then again, yall may dominate for as long as this district exists - who knows.
  8. To clarify, my last post about the coach's being idiots was pure sarcasm. You guys are crazy if you actually believe that these coaches don't support or believe in their players. Absolutely crazy.
  9. Wow, these coaches must be complete idiots. How did they ever win any ballgames?
  10. Fans Are those the people that stick with their team through thick and thin?
  11. Scrimmage is off. Bruceton called to cancel this morning.
  12. I know this is an old post I'm quoting here, but I was just browsing this topic and saw the shot at us here in Lewis County. Look, Mr. Mustang I don't blame you for thinking that, but you don't have any idea how hard it is to schedule people up here and I know for a fact Coach Sharp has tried, to no avail, to schedule bigger and better teams. But thank goodness all that is over, because we got bumped up to 3A whereas yall got bumped down to 1A, and our schedule has no choice but to be tough. So, finally everyone will either be able to say "I told you so" about us or they will have to shut up - just depends on our record. But, if your theory is true, Mr. Mustang, then the tougher competition should make us better in the playoffs, which will be good for us. Sorry to interrupt yall's thread but I couldn't help it just this once. Good luck to yall next year.
  13. Why not start a thread for Giles, Indy, Page and whoever else is involved in yall's little squabble. People are trying to talk about this district on here. Not read all of this, and this just isn't for you Frankly - I mean everybody taking part in this. Please. just start a different thread for this.
  14. Yes, usually when they are maxed they are timed in everything again too. And they have been working hard, but they know they have to in order to compete in the new district.
  15. I think Sherman was at 300 but not anymore, he should be back up there next max period which will give LC 4 over 300. No dates yet, probably wouldn't expect any till closer to spring practice - these scrimmages tend to change as far as dates go, three or four times before they actually happen.
  16. I'm not calling you a liar, its more likely you received some false information from someone who doesn't know LCHS football very well, but we have 3 benching over 300. Noone associated with the program would be that rediculous to claim 25 over 300 pounds. Might have been a typo and whoever wrote that meant 25 over 200.
  17. No dates for sure yet I don't think, but still looks like Bruceton and Camden. Not sure about a 7 on 7 camp though.
  18. Spring won't start until somewhere around the 4th I think, definately wouldn't expect a scrimmage on the 1st
  19. Would have been a wasted trip I would think. Contrary to what some people have put on here for weight totals, LC is nowhere close to 20 guys being over 250. And just one, Sherman (a running back) is over 300 on bench. Weight room is important, very important, but a competition based solely on weights wouldn't benefit LC right now. Hopefully it still turned out pretty good. Keep working hard Panthers
  20. And we're sooooo terrified. We are so upset that you big bullies at the TSSAA made us start playing "real competition." If you knew anything about LC football you would know we have tried to play top notch competition in the past, and couldn't get it done for whatever reason (our fault, other team's fault, noone's fault) doesn't matter. Everyone thinks that now LC will finally hit the wall and lose every game cause we never played "real competition" in the past. But I think you will see that we have always been a good team that ran into better Goodpasture teams in the playoffs. But hey, if we played an NFL schedule it wouldn't be good enough for some of you. And it may not be 13-0 anymore, but I can guarantee you LC will still be a presence in 3A for years to come. See you in the Fall.
  21. One thing is for sure, the team is working hard. No info on spring yet that I've heard anyway. This team on paper is not as strong as last years team or other teams from the past, but that doesn't mean its going to be a bad year. It's a long time between now and next football season, which is good for the Panthers cause they definately need to get stronger. They have the talent to match last years team success, but they need the leadership. It is developing slowly but it is developing. I wouldn't count the Lewis County Panthers out in '09 just yet.
  22. The schedule is set, and it won't change. Often times when regions and districts are re-aligned and teams are added and subtracted, a game between two teams will be played at one venue two years consecutively. That is the case here.
  23. August 21 Mt. Pleasant @ Mt. Pleasant August 20 Collinwood @ Hohenwald September 4 Page @ Hohenwald September 11 Spring Hill @ Hohenwald September 18 Hickman County @ Centerville September 25 Wayne County @ Waynesboro October 2 Marshall County @ Hohenwald October 16 Giles County @ Hohenwald October 23 Fairview @ Fairview October 30 East Hickman @ Lyles
  24. So he and Bo Wallace's team (Giles County) are in the same region, and play the same teams, and Bo is already considered a D1 SEC prospect, but the SH qb needs to play better competition? Spring Hill went ahead and played Alcoa for one of the non-region games last year. I'd say he's played some pretty tough competition, as if that mattered to college scouts anyway. If you are good enough to play at the D1 level, you will play at the D1 level, period.
  25. When it all comes crashing down, and it will one day, do us all a favor and don't just log off and dissappear - please stay and get what you have coming. Why can't you just be mature enough to just enjoy what your team has going and brag on your players - what little sensation do you get from beating a dead horse? I would imagine that since we play such a weak schedule and are Goodpasture's whipping boys every year in the second round that we would not be on most Alcoa fans' radars. But somehow, we got you. Why do we even matter to you? Go bother people you deem "worthy" to be in the same league as you. We will just stay over here in little ol' Lewis County and discuss OUR team and OUR future and OUR coach and not concern ourselves with Alcoa. We don't have an.............infactuation.................for you like you do for us. It's a little troubling actually - go away.
