Ok, I was going to keep my mouth shut but I guess I need to defend the truth about this situation. I am a parent of a son that plays for Riverdale. I will tell you that Byron is probably the most unstable person I have ever met. He is contacting all the players via phone and facebook asking them if they are pissed at him. LEAVE OUR KIDS ALONE. In his anger towards specifically towards Ayedelott and Hankins, who he hates with a passion, he has hurt the kids and their 2009 football year. These allegations he is making are sour grapes. He was NEVER a coach at riverdale and he was very upset because the coaches disliked him. He caused so much drama when he was here. The kids stopped trusting him and he did not help them in any fashion. I have FIRST HAND knowledge of this man's activities at riverdale. If he tries to contact my son at all with his crap, I will take legal action. He unfortunately has ruined his own reputation (he did that really before this happened) by throwing these false allegations about a team that under Coach A follows the rules to a T. Trust me I know the hard way. This man would never in a million years break a recruitment rule. I am not his favorite fan but I can vouch for his integrity in this situation. So Bryon, when you read this, you best decide to act like a man of character not a man whose pissed because he was not wanted at Riverdale. There are many reasons for that. He caused so much drama and would always try and take the credit for things he had no business doing.

Yes Riverdaleman, we have lots of talent. Are any of you a boss? I have had many many people work underneath me as an executive and as a business owner and I will tell you I have NEVER blamed the players when I knew they were capable but I just did not teach them or communicate with them about their job or tasks. I always made sure the buck stopped with me and I took the ###### chewings from clients etc. and then I made sure I fixed the problem. I have rarely hired someone to work for me that did not have talent. I always felt that if they had the heart and wanted to do the job then I could work on the rest. It is simple as that.

l Exactly, you just said exactly what I have been talking about...you have a winning system. Where do you think your current regime learned this system?? Don't think too hard. I love Coach Mac and the gang and I am excited for Oakland. It is your turn. You know there has always been a rivalry with Oakland. I also know the Thomas family very well. Yes, Dave Sr., Dave Jr., and Scott want to all coach together one day. Dave will have to start passing his classes so he can get a degree. The Thomas boys are only a small amount of the great talent that Riverdale has seen in its day.

Very well said! I totally agree! You can have the best talent on a team but if a coach does not know where that talent should play to maximize the results for the team then you are shooting yourself in the foot. Also, Coach A does not have the respect in the community because he has not put himself out there to get to know everyone. You would not believe how difficult it is to raise funds for Riverdale football. I mean we keep hearing, "we don't even know Coach A, blah, blah, blah." Anyway, I have been in the Riverdale football system for twelve years. I think that makes me more than qualified to know a little bit of what I am speaking.

So did Coach Mac, Coach White, etc. PLAY for RIVERDALE??? No, they coached. It is to be expected that coaches move to another school. It happens all the time and it is part of their JOB. Dave was there to help out Mac and WE do treat our ex coaches with great respect. Thank you very much. Read my post. I am a big fan of all of them but I have the right to disagree with Coach A as do most of the parents and players. Congrats to you Oakland, you have a great coaching staff plus you have great talent this year. Plus you are about to get the great Bill Spurlock as your principal. It is no accident that Coach Wyant was coaching at Siegel last night when they won. Siegel has some outstanding players and is a very strong team. I believe it is Murphy Fair that just said this..."It is not the players, it is the coaches." Riverdale has some unbelievable talent that is not being used correctly. These boys work there heart out and when certain players are not being played where they need to be!! The Riverdale team just does not have a winning spirit right now. alot of that has to do with the coaches and the crap that goes on with this team. Coach A just does not have what it takes to motivate these kids. It was even the same last year even though we had a great offensive line. The Riverdale boys want to win and they are ready to win. There is NOT the kind of discipline in the weight work outs like in the past with Coach White. THere are several areas that this team is lacking and it is definitely NOT their talent. I will say that Coach Wyant and Coach Mac both were right hand men to Coach Rankin. Especially Coach Wyant and there are many similarities to how coach rankin coached. At least the boys respected Coach Rankin. I will support Coach A as always but I believe in Nolan knows that he screwed up on this one. Siegel you earned the right to brag, it has been a long time coming. Congrats! The boys read Coach T but they also know it is just opinions and speculation. They know they are good but it is hard to be good on a losing team with a losing coach. I find it interesting that Smyrna did not start to win until Coach Wyant came on board. Remember who makes the game plan. This coach definitely needs to be head coaching somewhere. RIVERDALE TRAINED COACHES UNDER RANKIN are doing great out there on other teams. Especially the traitor Dave Thomas who could not pass an art class this past summer at Motlow and can't get into Austin Peay with his brother Scott. He currently is helping Mac coach Oakland. What a guy that Dave Thomas is.
