I DON'T EVEN THINK THAT YOU WOULD HAVE HAD TO GROW UP IN GRUNDY, EVERYONE LOVES A GOOD COMMUNITY THAT SUPPORTS ITS SCHOOL AND PROGRAMS...............I have heard of a few young guys interested in coming to GCHS, but they don't have much coaching experience, but they would be a great asset in the classroom and for the school..... I am not saying they wouldn't probaly help coach, you would have to ask them that one....... Hope the GC Board of Education, tries to lead this school forward and not backwards......... What positions open at GCHS?

maybe they will bring in some fresh faces...... Need to put pressure on the board for change........ not just in the sports, in the school and vocational areas as well....

what faculty posistions are open at SCHS

heard about any others interviewing for positions at GCHS???????? The word is the Budget is tight, but it would be nice if the system and school goes out and find new faces and new people to regenerate energy in the school.......

I believe the man has paid his dues, and deserves to coach football if he wants. Job or no job , put him on the field, he is an asset. So who all is at Grundy coaching??????

So if he has to go to Grundy to teach, what will he teach, and hOW will people in Grundy feel????????

Its is none of my buissness, I am just letting everyone in the public know , what is going on up there in Whitwell..... I can remember a situation simaliar to this about 10-15 years ago with Mike Ellioit up there, and it did not take the administration long to nip it in the bud... it just seems like this administration dragssss everything out hoping it will go away.

I will be the 1st to admit that WHS Baseball had a harder schedule this year , which was good, but it dosen't take the place of these actions........ 1 good does not replace these wrongs.... He is dealing with students not grown men...... 15-18 year old kids.... it is not acceptable... What kind of message do we as a society send to the future of tommorrow, if we let this go.

Some role model, character builder, as i said on another post. A friend of mine who has kids who go to WHS, was telling me that "BARTON HAD BEEN HAVING RUN INS WITH PARENTS, CURSING THE KIDS, OVER COACHING MISTAKES HE MADE, NOT CURSING AROUND THEM BUT CURSING THEM! SO IF THAT IS A POSITIVE ROLE MODEL, I WOULD HATE TO SEE A NEGITIVE........TRUE BARTON KNOWS BASEBALL... BUT WITH HIS PAST ANGER PROBLEMS, AND IT LOOKS AS IF HE STILL HAS THEM, HE NEEDS TO NOT BE AROUND THOSE KIDS.........

Ur right , they probaly could have turned it around ( Barton and Layne) , But Barton Cursing the kids up there, like there dawgs, because of coaching mistakes on his part, having run ins with parents, etc..... Plus having past anger problems ( someone said he has been in anger management a few times, plus a record)..... THAT IS NOT WHAT THOSE KIDS NEED..... THE SAD THING IS THE PRINCIPAL,AND FACULTY,AS WELL AS MANY PEOPLE ON THIS BOARD , SEE NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT... THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG IN THIS WORLD. He is supose to be a ROLE MODEL................ Now as for Thacker, He should have never been put in as Head Coach his 1st year teaching or coaching.....

Thacker, Barton, Ware, Brady, and a few more need to be gone. Wake Up WHS parents, you back your school superientedent and School Board in a corner...... You can get it done. JUST SHOW SUPPORT... best of luck

i had heard Barton say the same thing.... but, they say that he has a lot of boo boo's on the field and in the classroom. one of the alumni i spoke with said, whs always has had pride in there baseball program and now they have fell off.. he said he didnt doubt that he wouldnt have a lot to offer the program, but it just didnt feel he was the coach for the job there...

thats the rumor up there, said he wasnt happy with the baseball program, i heard he has already had a few heated run ins with some of the parents, and the alumni isnt happy with him at all.... but like i said , so far that a rumor, but 5 months ago the rumor was taylor was leaving, and now he is gone.

Word is the reason Barton isn't interested, he is thinking of leaving, or is WHS shopping his job out as well.
