  2. To the Pittsburgh Pirates. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.fanragsports.com/mlb/pirates/steven-jennings-brings-pittsburgh-pirates/amp/ https://www.google.com/amp/www.minorleagueball.com/platform/amp/2017/6/12/15786558/2017-mlb-draft-second-round-live
  3. DCHS pitcher Steven Jennings is ranked in the top 50 of MLB draft prospects. He's committed to Ole Miss, but is now expected to go as high as the second round if he decides to do so. http://www.wjle.com/news/2017/steven-jennings-ranks-top-50-mlb-draft-prospects
  4. Saw a post straight from Jennings Facebook. His high school football career is over. I really hate to see that. Hope he can heal up and go to Ole Miss and do well.
  5. No disrespect to any of the players. They all practice hard and play hard. But I'm afraid the talent pool is running dry here. I've been watching for awhile now and we're about to hit a slump. Middle school team has been doing great, but at the high school level we aren't matching up athlete wise.
  6. From WJLE: "DCHS: 864 (down by 3 students) DeKalb Middle School: 539 (up by 3 students) Northside Elementary: 654 (down by 4 students) Smithville Elementary: 580 (up by 11 students) DeKalb West School: 404 (up by 22 students)" That was at the beginning of this school year just earlier this month. http://www.wjle.com/news/2016/school-enrollment-35-students
  7. I'm stumped. What happened in Watertown wasn't the same team from the other scrimmages. If we play like that this season we're in trouble.
  8. http://www.wjle.com/news/2016/dchs-pitcher-selected-represent-team-tennessee-sunbelt-classic DC's Jennings is one of 20 Tennessee players selected to play in the sunbelt Classic in Oklahoma.
  9. The video you're referring to is the one I saw. Also I can agree she does have some correcting to do. Hats off to Tyra Graham. She hit two more homers tonight. Phenomenal player.
  10. I agree with many of the things being said. But when it comes to Bond.. He has been coaching here 31 years or so. Overall record: 678-258 District record: 291-56 18 district titles. 24 regional appearances. 12 sub-state appearances. 8 state tournament appearances. 31 winning seasons in 31 years coaching DC. I don't think he has been "intimidating" officials for decades guys. Come on.. I agree she has a slight, and I mean slight, hop. I even watched a slow motion video and it was still barely a crow hop. I've seen some insane hops before. She's being called for it now so we will see where it goes from here. As far as I'm concerned we're going to our third game in the state tournament here in less than an hour and that's all I'm focused on.
  11. DC wins 5-1. Play again at 4 today.
  12. Now up 5-1 in the 5th.
  13. DC just had a homer taken away. Man that sucks. Had one hit over left field fence and the ump took a timeout right when the pitcher let go of the ball so they didn't count it.
  14. We'll see what happens this evening. Yesterday Waverly's pitcher retired 21 straight batters for a perfect game. Hopefully we get the bats going. Who knows.
  15. DC beat Dyersburg 5-3. Had a 5-1 lead until late in the game and finally secured it. We will move on to play Waverly.
  16. Looking forward to it. I don't know anything about Dyersburg's team other than looking at their schedule results.
  17. You may very well be right. I respect everyone's opinion as long as it's reasonable. I agree about Graham. They don't all get the credit they deserve. We have been fortunate in this sport for a long time now. Bond is a great coach and has a great track record.
  18. Hmm. We have made it to state three times in a row now and I still haven't seen her called for leaping and she's started since freshman year. Shouldn't they call that at the state tournament level? I'm not trying to be a prick. I'm honestly asking. During her down time she plays in the highest level leagues you could imagine and still has never been called. I can tell you the people she has talked to at colleges also have never said anything to her. Strange in my opinion that this is the first time I've seen it mentioned.
  19. DC advances to state with a 12-0 win in 5 innings. http://www.wjle.com/news/2016/tigerettes-three-peat-state-tournament
  20. Don't be deceived by the amount of wins. Half of them were against teams that would be blown out by any school in the area. Our schedule was embarrassing.
  21. DeKalb beat Chattanooga Christian 8-0. 8 runs on 14 hits. Caplinger pitched a no hit shutout for DC.
