  1. I get your point and its a totally valid one and thats why i said the comment about "what the coaches get paid for". Criticize the coaching decisions, these people are adults and can handle it. I just don't think its right mentioning a high school girl by name and having her read these comments or hear about them. Im sure you probably have some stake in the team or playing time...but lets keep it in perspective that these are just girls and its high school.....we have professional sports to criticize the players
  2. Is a message board really the place to criticize a freshman high school girl and call her out by name? That's what coaches get paid for, not high school girls. Those comments naming a player and speaking negatively should be removed.
  3. 2 and done at Loudon.....then 2 and done at LC I wonder where the greener pasture will be in 2011?
  4. Not to defend CAK, but Lenoir City isn't exactly the most coach friendly place to be. Coach Wells coached hard when he was at the LC and must make a decision that is best for his future.
  5. What a great comment about AAU... Its surprising that players and parents love AAU. 1. You pay the coach and team and can leave the team whenever you want 2. You typically don't have to play a lick of defense, its all about scoring and stats 3. Coaches need your kid on the team so they placate 4. Discipline is not exactly the most frequently taught skill in AAU And before someone posts a response...I know all AAU teams are not like that..blah blah blah..but i have watched a lot of AAU over the years and thats the impression i get Maybe your child gets benched when they do something they are not supposed to be doing. I grew up playing basketball where the coach was respected (not always right but respected), this helped to teach me discipline and respect, I did what he told me not because he was "right" but because he was my coach. I bet the LC coach cant wait for AAU either!!
  6. If the coaches were playing the young players then they would be disrespecting the upperclassmen...it's a lose lose situation for the coaches..unless you are winning, then you can do whatever you want.
  7. There is a Big difference. But, anyone who is in the know in this area is well aware of the attempted job hopping. This is High School Basketball in East Tennessee not the UT football search, schools don't go on regional recruiting searches for coaches, they post openings and then people apply. Whenever a girls (the CAK incident) or boys job opens up (West) its a given Wells will apply.
  8. I heard their starting point guard from last year isn't playing this year. Is this true or just a rumor?
  9. LC needs to compete with teams in the District not named Bearden, Maryville, and Farragut...with Bearden and Farragut having an extreme size advantage its hard for LC to match up..with Maryville we will have trouble matching the athleticism and the coaching. We need to take care of business with the bottom of the district and hope for an upset in the tourney, which can happen.
  10. If the girls are depending on freshman to compete in District 4 AAA..then it might be a rough road..they will miss Wampler..but the twins and parks are pretty good
  11. Says the dude criticizing on a message board..that thinks some coaches with losing records are great while others aren't
  12. Shane Wells seems like a good coach, but he applies for every open job in the Knoxville area (boys and girls). Im not sure how the players feel about that.
