  1. Well, you hufstedler02 seem to be a Milan Bulldog. If that is true, then you should know that if Coach Morris was put in the position that disgusted you so bad, he too would do the same thing. You see, this weak schedule you keep referring to, hasn't allowed Henry County to run their 2 minute drill all that often. The situation was there to practice it at the end of the first half against Kingsbury thus, Coach Gaddis put it in to practice! You see, beating Kingsbury is not the team's long term goal! Winning the State Title is! So, what difference does it make if some nut like you gets offended!!! We will face much more powerful teams than Kingsbury! And it also seems you've been fed some bad information. Milan WILL turn away games!! All you have to do is be present at the scheduling meetings held every 2 years! Ask your AD or coach if you can attend the next one. You will see the "truths" you think you know so well! It does however seem that Milan has a little more power overall than JCS! We love Coach Morris here. He coached many of us as well as taught us biology! Thus, I feel Milan will win this one by a slim margin!
  2. With the powerful schedule that JCS has put together for next season outside of their district, they should definately be the favorite in their D-II 1A division! Most understand your point in hoping for an easier non-district schedule especially since wild cards now play a factor in EVERY district for playoff seeding! But, keep in mind, things are different in Paris. HC has to take first come/first play! Only 2 school offered to play HC next season. Those 2 are Humboldt and Liberty. No Memphis teams, no rural West TN teams, no Nashville privates, no Williamson Co schools, and not even the powerful KY schools like Marshall Co, Hopkinsville, Paducah Tilghman, Ft. Campbell, Graves Co, or Lone Oak. It's not as easy to get game in Paris because so many see it as a lose-lose situation! Anyway, good luck to both JCS and Milan! I wish I could see it but I will be getting high (not by choice) at the Orange Mound Friday!
  3. Well Patriot fans, I once again spoke with the ol' fearless one (the AD) and he informed me that there are now ONLY 8 seats left on the Big Red Power Wagons headed for Melrose. IF there are 8 more fans out there wanting to ride, you had better speak up! Call Abbotts Print Shop tomorrow morning!!! Also, if you are one of the many slackers who haven't paid yet, once the buses are full and there becomes overflow passengers waiting, those with the $$$ will get a seat and those who haven't paid will get punted off! Pay up BIG RED!! It's about time to pull out! I'll see yall Friday at Patriot Stadium! GO BIG RED!! BIG RED PWR!!
  4. Well now that you mention it, we have quite a few. Come down and visit them since I'm sure you are needing a fix saying that HC always chokes. Get off this thread and go talk about whoever your team is because Melrose is who we are facing and we don't care who you root for or who you don't like. Hey trader b, any update on the Melrose injuries?
  5. And by the way, you are a fan of the most overrated team in the country if you are a Dobbyns Bennet fan. Ya'll were so good until you actually played someone /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> ! Get off our thread and go lick your wounds. Thanks for clearing things up 12NCS. Good luck against Beech, and hopefully we will see each other in a week.
  6. My thoughts exactly CoverZero. Big Red PWR!
  7. I really and truly hope that you are a Hillsboro fan for two reasons. Reason #1: I want you to be sitting on the home side of the possible Hillsboro/Henry County matchup and watch your "donkey rats"(as Boski puts it) get drilled. Reason #2: I hope you are sitting at home next to a fire eating a warm bowl of chili watching the 4a state championship without Hillsboro in it. I don't care who goes on to play Maryville, but I sure hope it isn't ya'll because you give your high school a bad name.
  8. I just talked to the atheletic director, and he said there are only 25 seats available on the third fan bus. If you want a seat, you need to go by abbots print shop or call them to get your name on the list. This is a great way to show melrose how powerful our fans are so hurry and get your seat. I will see everyone who is riding on the bus at 3 on Friday to take the Big Red Power Wagon on to Memphis.
  9. Although I understand you are fan this particular match-up, but why would you imply that this is "THE"game in Tennessee?? It's not the best 2 teams. It's not the most competitive by record or even best rematch. With games like South Pittsburg (11-0) at Trousdale Co. (12-0), Germantown (10-2) at White Station (9-3), Franklin (11-1) at Brentwood (11-1) and the best rematch; Beech (11-1) vs. Hillsboro (10-2), Station Camp (9-3) at White House (11-1), Goodpasture (8-4) at CPA (9-3), and Henry Co. (12-0) at Melrose (8-4), what criteria do you use for such an idea? Important?...yes!! But at this point, what games are not? Everyone must win to stay alive. The best games of the night are more than likely; East TN: Austin East at Knox Catholic, Middle TN; Franklin at Brentwood High, West TN; Henry Co. at Melrose. I've seen Milan play in years past and have seen them on film this season. It seems that either teams are scheming them better the second time around, keeping the scores close but nobody has figured out the secret formula for victory! They seem to have all the power needed for a trip to Murfreesboro. Good Luck to both teams, however, calling it the game of the week in Tennessee is a stretch!!!
  10. I know this was a big night at Northside tonight! Who picked up big games for their non-district games next year? Did JCS or USJ schedule any "good" local teams? Who did Westview, Humbolt, Milan, Liberty and Huntingdon pick up? Was Henry County and Camden there? Someone in the know, fill us in!!!
  11. Amen to the Orange Mound cuisine there Wingman!! That's one powerful buffet they serve!! Big Red Nation, I just spoke with the fearless Patriot Athletic Director, he informed me that there are already 76 names on the list to ride the bus to Melrose! That only leaves 36 more seats!! Can you believe that!! If you plan on riding with the rest of us, you had better call tomorrow and get on the list! I wish Friday would hurry up and get here!!! GO BIG RED!!! BIG RED POWER!!!
  12. I will tell you something and you can take it to the bank. Marsalis Teague can be stopped. Its crazy to think that our kids are world beaters. The are only 16 17 and 18 for crying out loud. I agree strongly with you that he is special and makes amazing things happen, but what you have to understand is that it only takes one bad night at this point. I love your enthusiasm, but giving him that kind of target on his back is nothing but hurtful to the young man. We will not see a running clock in this game either. Melrose's defense is too powerful.
  13. Galilee....since your team is playing at Dyersburg this week, maybe you can hook up with "adsmom86"! If she looks anything like the picture she posts, she is hot!!!!
  14. Volfan007.........we ARE playing at Orange Mound and NOT Oakhaven! As a Patriot fan, I would feel uneasy if Melrose, Fairley, or any other Memphis school compared us to Stewart Co., Camden, or Milan because of our "close proximity." I'm sure Melrose fans feel the same by you linking an insident at Oakhaven to their "extremely hospitable venue" at Orange Mound! Does Oakhaven also offer a buffet line? NO! Be careful about making blanket statements about "what might happen" just because of their geographic location. This isn't our first time to go to Orange Mound. We have never had ANY trouble before so why should this coming Friday be any different? Always keep in mind, no matter how much security we have at home, these actions as you metioned could happen at Patriot Stadium too! Most Patriot fans have traveled to destinations outside of our borders and know how to pack their vehicles accordingly! Secondly, I talked to our fearless Athletic Director, and he has informed me that the Quarterback Club has 2 charter buses scheduled to carry fans (not wishing to drive or pay to park) to the game in Memphis on Friday! The price "should" be $25 per person to ride. Those wanting to ride MUST sign up at Abbotts Print Shop beginning Monday morning. There are already people on the list to ride but there are 108 seats total. The buses will leave promptly from Patriot Stadium parking lot at 3:00 Friday afternoon. He also said that if the 2nd bus isn't COMPLETELY full by Tuesday afternoon, it will be cancelled. Patriot fans, let's show how Powerful of a 12th man we are and show up in big numbers! Sign up early for the bus. The AD also said that if we could fill both buses, the QB Club would entertain the idea of a 3rd bus! According to Mr. Poteete, the QB Club takes a chance everytime they charter fan buses! This is not a fundraising event for the club. The price of the seats go directly to the bus price. The Club could do this more often if fans would sign up early instead of waiting to the last minute or worse than that, signing up and then not showing up. For those of us who enjoy riding these buses, do us a favor and fill the buses up early! The more the better!!! You can't drive to Orange Mound and back for $25 or even $50 after you pay to park! Can't wait to see a bus load of Big Red fans Friday afternoon! GO BIG RED!!! BIG RED PWR!!!
  15. Wow! Another trip to Orange Mound. This is awsome. I can't to eat the biggest turkey leg that Memphis can muster up. Anyways, this should be another great game between these two teams. I've got a question for the guys from Memphis that have seen Melrose play. Is this year's Melrose team as fast as the team when Cooper was a senior? They were extremely fast that year, but are they as big and as fast?
  16. It was a crazy first half, but hopefully we can step it up in the second half. Go Big Red Pwr!
  17. Yeah, your's could be right as well but.........I think I might want to change my number 3. I know that HC leads the state in scoring with 509 points so far, BUT if Holder has a night against JCS like he did against USJ and the Mustangs hang another 63 on the Eagles, i'll go with Huntingdon/JCS as the highest scoring game. I don't understand how that happens though........they only score 7 against McKenzie, Camden, & Dyer County then through up 63! Unbelievable. By the way, below are the other's points up to this point for those also wanting to weigh in. There are some powerful offenses around. HC-509 Milan-481 UC-441 Lake Co-388 Fairley-381 Gleason-355 Mckenzie-330 JCS-329 Hunt-291 Westview-276
  18. Man, those are some powerful questions there Advisor! Let me throw my predictions at it before GCPioneer gets his shot! 1. McKenzie vs. Union City will be the closest game with McKenzie winning the rematch! 2. Milan over Westview will be the biggest rout since the Chargers are heinous this year! 3. The Patriots and Fairley will score the most points this weekend although if Huntington can put up half the points they did last week, that game may give HC/Fairley a good run! 4. JCS has the best chance at victory this week on the road even though I've picked McKenzie in their rematch also! 5. Westview at Milan will have the biggest crowd..they too have the worst parking! 6. Marsalis Teague has the biggest night, I think JCS has spent the entire week figuring out how to slow down Holder! Colton Speed probably has a big night but in a losing effort however! I'm interested in hearing other fans and their thoughts!
  19. One word...SUPPORT!! Community support was basically non-existant when I played. Driving through town now all you see is GO PATRIOTS! When I played less than 1/4 of the stands were filled on any given Friday night. Now that we have the community support that we do, it's a shame to see people fighting over which band is better and who is making all the plays, and who gets recognized and who doesn't. Especially with the powerful Henry County TEAM that suits up every Friday to bring us all some great football!
  20. I agree. I think that if we think we have a mental edge on them (which we may), then the advantage goes to Fairley. We are dealing with a very powerful offensive attack coming into Paris, but if the players keep their heads on straight, then we should win.
  21. Thanks for the comment. Its just that as a former Henry County football player, I understand the way a crowd motivates a team. If we sit on here and fight about who has a better band or who is our best players, then the true meaning of being a fan vanishes. Yeah, we had some studs on my team, but I can tell you from a former player's perspective that nobody cares! It doesn't matter how we win or who makes the game winning catch, but winning is the only thing on these kids' minds. And for that matter it should be the only thing on fans' minds because we aren't playing for style points. WE ARE PLAYING TO WIN! And nothing else.
  22. So I have been reading this thread for almost an hour. All I have gotten from it is that our band is better this year and everyone doesn't get noticed when it comes to stats and recognition. Why can't we as fans just accept the way things are and be proud of our team regardless of who plays and who doesn't. The fact of the matter is that we as fans have a great opportunity to witness great football, great music from the band, and the most powerful atmosphere in the state. Yes, we have some gifted atheletes, but that is what makes a team a team. Overcoming all the "hoop la" and still getting the job done week in and week out is nothing short of a miracle. Maybe we should commend our guys for doing that rather than argue about the bands or who gets more playing time. The point I am trying to make is that amid all of our arguing and fussing, we have a team that is preparing to play a very solid Fairley team. Lets talk about football and leave that other stuff out!
  23. That run by Dominique may have been the best run of his career. I watched every move, and he never put his fingers inside the helmet. He just pushed him away like he wasn't even there. He is POWERFUL!
  24. You are right Advisor. Henry County did win an award. Its called the A F Bridges award, and I believe that it is awarded to the school that shows the best sportsmanship. We won it for the western division from the TN river to Memphis. And what about Henry County being among the 100 most powerful teams in the nation. We are ranked number 90. Thats impressive. I don't care who you are!
