Well i heard that he saw the writing on the wall with the administration and what happened with Darden and wanted to get out while the getting was still good. At a private school in Knoxville you are always 1 angry parent..sorry 1 angry RICH parent away from being fired.

CAK is now without a girls or a boys coach. In Knox County..... 1 public school vacancy and 3 private school vacancies To put that in perspective 1 out of 26 public school coaching jobs are open 3.8% While 3 out of 6 private schools have coaching vacancies 50% Seems like its a tough job coaching and staying employed at a private school.

Heard a rumor that the girls coach is leaving as well

Once Hood leaves they will be a talent vacuum. I think Wells would do a great job at CAK, a good guy that knows a lot about basketball. I think CAK will be better off going with a local guy that can help attract kids to come play.

Thankfully Sevier Co. is no longer going to be in Region 2 District 4!!! This has been the worst run District Tourney in recent memory! 1. Did not post scores to the paper from the first night of girls basketball 2. Terrible Hospitality Room 3. PA announcer who talks while players are shooting free-throws 4. 2 Errors by the scorekeeper during Heritage v. Farragut (did not add a heritage player, gave a foul to a FHS starter who was sitting on the bench and not even in the game) The scorekeeper did not keep the book correctly to find out when fouls occurred 5. For the Saturday girls game i was told that both teams were sitting in a dark gym waiting for administrators to come turn on the lights and show them their assigned dressing rooms 30 mins before they were allowed to warm up. This is not a reflection on the Sevier Co. Basketball teams or coaches but on the adminstration for poor organization and either poor hiring or poor training of crucial personnel! This is an embarrassment to the school, I would like to know how much the Athletic Director is going to be paid for his "Tournament Director Fee" The seniors and their parents wait 4 years for their district tournament and its a shame that the one at Sevier Co. has been run so poorly. Hopefully West and Catholic will do a better job in the future.

I have no idea what the District or Region looked like in 1990-1991, however Oak Ridge is a monster and Bearden is undefeated in District IV play. For Clinton to even make it out of region for the chance to have Morristown West beat them by 50 they first have to get past one of those two teams...and I honestly don't see it happening (If not Bearden then Heritage or maybe Farragut) And i know..."thats why they play the game" and "anything can happen" but the deck is stacked against them

There is no way they can make it to state. To get to state they would have to get through 1st either Oak Ridge or Bearden, Heritage in the Region then Either Morristown West, Cocke Co. , or maybe Greeneville in the Sub-State. I can't think of any real quality wins for them...they have lost to Oak Ridge twice and Once to Powell those are the only really good teams in that district. Good luck to them though....they definitely have the ability to upset someone..but to call for state is a little off base.

After a couple weeks into the season who is looking like the best teams in the Knoxville area.

Both. They lost a really good group of seniors, and any other girls that could really contributed went to Hardin Valley.

If you are going to say Taylor Mills from Gibbs..then you have to Include Stephanie Torrence from Farragut who just hung 30 on Gibbs and took home the Tourney MVP...she has scored over 1,000 points in her career and is a scoring and defensive machine!!

Is Heritage still doing the Kesslers Thanksgiving tournament? If so, does anyone have a schedule?

Farragut beat Cumberland gap by 20ish, never really a close game it got up to 30 or so in the third. Loudon blew out Halls Powell beat South Doyle Gibbs beat Karns by like 40

Are there any Play Days occurring in the Knoxville/Blount/Anderson co. area this weekend?
