  1. Come on Redhotz......lets see the update on the Marion game yesterday......Keep up the good work!!!!!
  2. That is not Sequatchies or any other teams fault. They can find summer teams like anyone else can. It is possible because I know of some inner city girls out there playing travel ball.....Remember they still keep score at the games and it does go on your record. I know that Bledsoe has to play them....we need the win
  3. It dosn't matter. A win is a win. If they are on the schedule, you win by any means nessacary, and you don't hold players back. Lady Indians keep on with what your doing...your off to a great season
  4. Good luck at the Soddy Daisy Tournament. I like to see team "playing up". This especially helps a young team. Always let the other team know they've been in a fight. I don't think you ever get anywhere playing lesser teams. I know you have to have a balance, but I like teams that aspire for more.
  5. Has Marion had some key ball players quit? I heard it but didn't know if it was a rumor or not.
  6. Very true, but if they would have a hard look at it they would see that it would put more money in their pockets. Less rain outs = more gate money. The other thing is that seniors would not have to miss out on alot of their senior activities at the end of the year.
  7. I am a travel ball head coach and an assistant coach in a middle school program. We are from a small community and the 50% rule will get us by next year.. Right now just about all of my players are considering skipping school ball (middle) next year and a couple are considering skipping their freshman year to get on with the more competitive travel ball where all the looks are at. Moving school ball to the fall would very much help in keeping most girls in school ball. As far a how many are serious out there will still be the same.
  8. The other thing to that is, how many more older girls would play softball? I know alot of potentally good athletes who could do very well on a travel team not play after school ball. If you moved school ball to the fall, it would provide the break need inbetween seasons. The athletes would be more prepared and conditioned for their more competitve travel teams when spring came around.
  9. I hear Rockwoods boys are all wearing pink skirts this season
  10. I am all for the change to the fall. I noticed that there are a least 2 different ASA qualifiers before school ball is over with. I am also for changing the 50% rule for A, AA schools also. With economics the way they are, many players may not be able to play in the smaller communities unless they can play with people from their school.
  11. One I have in mind......Meridith Mitchell.....Sequatchie County High School.......She is an ace pitcher and plays center field like a wide reciever.......Very possible one of the best lead off hitters around. Look for her to be a huge contribution to the Lady Indians this year
  12. The meeting went very well. There were alot of people there. Don't know if all of them were players and familys or some just being curious. Hubert is NOT helping in any way. I left feeling pretty encouraged but only time will tell. He let everyone know his agenda for the future. Hopefully things will work out
  13. You are young, but there is a lot of talent coming out of the freshman class. Also look too 2010 when a hot freshman SS joins the team. Also in 2010, the re-districting will favor you in a big way. Good luck to all
  14. I was told first hand by coach Reel that Hubert was not going to be involved with the football team at all. If it turns out that he is going to be involved, then it is going to be the same old story we've gone through for the last 7 years. I would like to the see the team successful, but they can't be if he's going to worry about all his friends feelings. Thats the other reason we should have come up with 10,000 more and gone outside the county.
  15. You may be exactly right.....It may have been an money issue or it may have been an under the table deal all along. However, I am an optimist. If for some reason it had to be in house because of economics or teacher issues I believe they picked the right one. He is having a meeting Sunday with all the parents and the players. Hopefully his agenda will be layed out then. My new question ya'll might be able to help with......How does he approach the QB situation??? We can't handle another season averaging 4 interceptions a game. I know we have a sophmore QB with a lot of promise.....any more????
  16. I heard first hand that Coach Reel went to Hubert and told him that he would not be allowed to have anything to do with football. This is not a rumor. He has also been allowed to find an outside assistant. As for the rest of the coaches I don't know. Should be a meeting coming up with players and parents with Coach Reel.
  17. Thanks jhoutsider...........I believe this up coming season will be tough, but one of the things everyone will start to notice will be a more disciplined team. Jason will do that, it will take some time, but he will teach the boys to have a better work ethic. This is what has been missing for a long time. One of the other things he will do is to restore "Pride" after all PRIDE is the foundation for success!!!
  18. Sequatchie should be very strong this year, maybe even a contender for the district title. They have one player who has signed with Chattanooga State (Cooley) and a very good pitching staff. Look for a couple of freshman pitchers really contribute with their bats this year. Sequatchie may be able to keep this going for more than this year. Good luck Sequatchie
  19. joutsider how about starting a new topic......Bledsoe hires new coach.....maybe? Lets rally some support. You've been doing good /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />
  20. joutsider heard the same thing you did. I believe your sources are correct. Coach Reel is in. I believe he will do a good job. He has had the chance for the last 3 years to learn from the other 2 head coaches mistakes. The boys all like him too. Now that it is done, support is what he and the team needs. Future looks brighter.
  21. I would like to see some scouts come look at Kayla Reagan this year. She shows great leadership for a sophmore that I have ever seen. She is fundamentaly sound. She would make some college coach very happy someday. I believe she will be the one that can turn Bledsoe softball around. Good luck Lady Warriors
  22. Bledsoe will be down again this year. They only have one pitcher. She is very good but she is a 10th grader that needs to be playing 3rd base. To many girls on the team that have never played ball or don't play any summer ball. It will be a couple of years before something starts coming out of Bledsoe. Even that is in trouble due to too many of the good travel ball players going to AAU basketball. In any case they will play the game and do their best to make the school proud.
  23. I have heard from a semi good source that there were over 100 applications entered to the board office. None were the coaches we have been talking about. Can anyone comfirm this?
  24. Fantastic news. I am always glad when someone from the Valley is successful.
