  1. Overheard a conversation the other day from some of singals players about having to go play some "cornbread feed" team from Bledsoe. Pretty interesting. All I got to say is yall come get some!! Bledsoe will win this by a touchdown.
  2. Fury 96, what happened to Frost Comets?
  3. I kind of believe the situation could be fixed simply by playing high school ball in the fall like Georgia schools. Least likley to conflict then.
  4. It all depends on if Sequatchie lets their coach stay. It will be his 3rd year you know. If he stays this is my perdiction 1. Sequatchie 2. Bledsoe 3. Chattanooga Christian (and yes, they will have a better year) 4. Grundy 5. Notre Dame #1 and #2 could be a toss up. Depends on who lost the most contributing seniors from '09
  5. I kind of think this needs its own forum to be heard a little louder. I am all for playing in the fall. I do not like the fact that the first ASA qualifier is being held during TSSAA Spring Fling. I also feel that it is good to support your school but your more serious ball players do need to be with their travel teams earlier (March and April)
  6. Isn't Silver Eagles the ones who won ISA "B" WS. They are a "B" team that needs to come this way and get their education
  7. I don't think you would have to come up with more classifications but maybe some moving around. Using productive 8th graders would aide alot of smaller schools. Question, would the 8th grader have to forfiet her last middle school season to play high school?
  8. Hunter I am all for playing up. Our situation at our school 8th graders would aide us greatly. But I also would like to see school ball become more prestigious (spell ck) especially in the smaller schools which would mean more quality players and 8th graders having to wait. We know for the most part its not that way. TSSAA rules strangle school ball from becoming what it should be.
  9. I agree completly 3rdbasecoach. I also agree that players should only get 4 years of highschool ball except in the smaller schools that would have trouble fielding a team. Any coach should play their best 9 no matter what grade they are in or else high school ball would just be glorified rec. ball
  10. Just got the official ASA newletter the other day stating that 16u was moving to 43' witch is good but what buisness does TSSAA have moving middle school to 43'
  11. Indian, I used to read your comments and think you were pretty knowledgeable but now we all know you are clueless.
  12. 16u Mustangs Force Lady Aces Fury (Nashville) 14u Fury '95 Valley Thunder Worth '95 Muzuno The rest have no idea. Too many teams reloaded this year and spring brings up a lot of questions to be answered.
  13. Grundy fans are sure optomistic. I bet by half time they will be crying and blaming their 4th of 5th head coach. Yall ain't even ready for this game. Warriors will win big
  14. Grundy won't even score unless Bledsoe puts in its 9th graders at the end. Bledsoe 42 Grundy 0
  15. Get a few things straight Indian fans. The turnover excuses are getting old considering Bledsoe spotted ya'll the first 24 points ya'll had with turnovers. I didn't see a whole lot of mishandling of the ball by the Indian running back, just a little harder hitting in the second half by the warriors that caused at least 3 of the fumbles. Besides that, warriors were still able to move the ball and make the scores after the fumble recoverys. Game is over Warriors.......Move on
  16. Some of the best fourth quarter playing and coaching I've seen in a long time. It sure was great to wake up a "WARRIOR" this morning. Boys, keep your eye on the target.....
  17. I agree about the coach. We don't have to like everything he does. Its a no-brainer how he is turning everything around. Everyone is excited for our first home game because of what he and the boys have done. Restoring the GLORY. Bledsoe by 10
  18. My opinion (only an opinion) is that middle school should stay at 40'. Too many 12 yr. old 6th graders still learning the mechanics of pitching. Many of them are just coming up from 35' and 11" ball. As for 14u travel ball I don't know. USFA passed it for this fall starting at 16u. What we don't want is pitchers 14u pitching from 43' (which I am all for) then having to return to 40'. Still waiting to hear from ASA and their options???????
  19. Looking to have several at tryouts. Will try to fill at least 4 spots. All postions open ASA A intentions on nationals for 2010 Call Ricky 423-605-3167 or email rlr10x@yahoo.com Will practice out of Chattanooga
  20. Warriors looked as good as I've seen them in the past 10 years last night. A lot of players got some playing time adding to the depth they are going to have. Coach Reel has things looking better.
  21. Mustangs were put in the loosers bracket by the 2nd place team. The umpires made a poor decision to let Mustangs pitcher continue pitching in an all out flooding rain. Had the umpires had been smart reguarding the weather situation the Mustangs may have gone further.
  22. I am very glad this was passed for high school softball for 2010-2011 season. How soon will travel ball get this done? Would like to see ASA be the leader here and get it done by this spring for 14u and up. Your thoughts??
  23. Will be having tryouts Sunday August 23, 2009 at 2:30pm at the Tyner Fields in Chattanooga for fall 2009 and 2010 season. Playing ASA A and looking to qualify for nationals 2010. For more information Call Ricky 423-605-3167 or rlr10x@yahoo.com
  24. I am all for playing your sport......leaving softball alone.......I have heard crap about burning players out.......I say that the dedicated ones don't get burned out.......it is a weeding out process all along to get to the dedicated players......the ones that leave softball were not meant to stay and there is absolutly nothing wrong with learning to have a commitment. I would expect the same thing if mine were in another sport taking it serious......And another thing, these girls will appreciate their down time and not get burned out like they would do doing multiple sports and having no down time.
  25. My 2 cents worth There are a great many kids that have the ability to play more than one sport and be successful. Good for them. But......as a head coach on an A 14u travel team I will not put up with anything else during our season. I go out of the way not to interfere with anything they may do during their off time or during their school seasons, but when its our time no other sports. Sorry......nothing personal........just business
