  1. FCS REGION 4A CHAMPIONS. Great game against RBS last night. WE lead from start to finish. RBS did make a final run in the last 3 minutes but we hit enough free throws to secure the win. Parker Teeter (MVP) was a beast last night as well as big man Hardee Sorrels (All Region). They hit the boards on both sides of the ball and lead our team in scoring as well as rebounds. Maasen (All Region) did a great job on Wes Grace (All Region) early on until he got in foul trouble in 3rd qtr. He picked up his 4th around the 5:50 mark and didn't return until 4 minutes to go in the game. His replacement Issac Wilson came in and we didn't miss a beat. Issac took over the defensive pressure on Grace and did a GREAT job. Cameron Hill (All Region) and Dalton Patterson played well outside. Hill had two big 3's in the second half that answered some of the 3's by Grace and Mullinix. Styles (All Region) had a good game also. He actually kept RBS in the game. This team has turned it up a notch since getting beat by RBS in the District tourney. We have played as a TEAM since that game and it has been showing in the stats and boxscores. Congrats to FCS. Its their first REGION CHAMPIONSHIP in school history (boys). Next up for the Commanders will be Chattanooga's Grace Baptist (lost to Chatt Arts and Science last night). It will be at FCS Monday night March 8th at 7pm. Should be a packed crowd. RBS will travel to Chatt A&S Monday night. FCS beat Chatt A&E earlier this year on their home court. They are physical.
  2. RBS just beat Clay Co 42-40...WOW and all region (8A) final and it has been moved to Watertown Thursday night at 7pm Congrats to RBS and my boys FCS!!!!!!
  3. FCS all over the Gmen tonight 76-58. I wasn't there but got plenty of text with updates. Up by 6 at the half and from there it was all GREEN. We must have played as a team tonight. Great job FCS. Up next Clay Co and RBS
  4. Clay Co vs RBS Game #1 Gordonsville vs FCS Game #2 THOUGHTS? Clay Co and Gordonsville no doubt the favorites to face each other Thuirsday night in the championship game but I will say that our team FCS will be ready. We are playing much better as is Gordonsville. I have alot of respect for Trey Sanders. One of their key players in the Didt tourney (and in my mind the MVP) was #2 Matt Bane. He kept them in the game with his 3's while Josh Sapp was stuggling somewhat. Of course Sapp caught fire in the finals and finished strong. Also playing tough and selected as MVP was Cody Woodmore. Strong on the boards and in the paint but was in fould trouble alot. Our boys have played as a team since the RBS loss in the tourney. Whipped Watertown and beat a GOOD Pickett Co bunch on their floor for the 2nd time this year (3-0 against them this yr). Teeter and Sorrels have hit the boards better in the last 2 games and our shot selection has been better. Should be a graet match up in both games. RBS #22 Wes Grace has been on fire and the help of Watson and Stiles they should be ready for the Bulldogs.
  5. FCS continues winning streak beating a good Ezell team on the road. A 30 point 3rd qtr takes them to a 66-51 win. Maasen takes high game honors with 18 followed by Hill with 16 (14 in 3rd qtr)....we probably shot 65% tonight which by far was our best game of the year.......... Now moving on to our Mid South Tourney after Christmas......... Everyone have a safe and Merry Christmas!!!!!!
  6. I do know that CSAS is a real good team, just ask Pickett Co and Clay Co. CSAS beat both of them @ Clay Co in the HOF series according to the scores on their team schedule...... We did this same thing last year before the Christmas break but I've seen some improvement since we lost to Watertown...........we play Ezell Tuesday night at their place before playing in teh MST after Christmas.......
  7. Manage the end of the game? The CSAS dictated the last 5 minutes by fouling and hitting some lucky shots. And we helped them out by missing foul shots...........don't think it was managing the end of the game that made it that close............
  8. FCS went to Chattanooga Arts and Science and won 68-61........Blew a 16 pt lead in the 4th. Not very good from the free throw line (under 50%) or this one would have been in the double digits......Hardee Sorrells had 20 from the inside and Cameron Hill had 17 from the outside to lead the Green team...... 6-2 before the Christmas break heading into the Midsouth tournamnt after Christmas... GO BIG GREEN
  9. FCS and Picket Co played last night @ FCS. Neither team had the offense they are capable of. Both teams got good looks at the bucket but the two goals seem to have lids on them. We had a couple of guys to step up last night, post player Hardee Sorrels and guard (DP) Patterson had their best games of the year. Sorrels put up 14-15 pts and DP had 6 with several steals on the defensive side of the ball. IMO his play was the difference in the game.......he came off the bench to spark the Green team in the 2nd half. FCS heads to Chattanooga to play the CSAS team which won last night vs East Ridge 57-50. Hope we continue to play better as the year goes.
  10. Should be some good basketball those 3 days........8 games a day including the girls tournament. Everyone come see a great 3 days of roundball.
  11. You are correct there Muffin.....FCS played like crap. Too many turnovers and Watertown did a good job defensively on our two post. Of course with Maasen fouling out early didn't help matters any.
  12. Haven't been able to get on this computer for a couple of days....can't believe we don't have anyone on here talking about this game. Watertown coming off a good win as well as FCS coming off a great week with 3 W's two on the road.........Big District start for FCS.........Should win this game with the dominance on the boards...........
  13. Well there Hustleflow if they are on a different level where does that put Trousdale Co after Friday night? Bates must have read this post cause he blistered TC for 25 pts.................OUCH
  14. Sorry to disappoint you there Senator but your prediction of 15 not close. Good win by the FCS boys since we had to play 8 tonight (3 in the strop shirts). Talking about calls going one way...OMG. Teeter only had 2 fouls the other 3 were enbarrassing blown calls. Unreal....... Someone needs to get ahold of Ken Melton and let him watch some of these so called refs work these games.........I know it wasn't Clay Co fault they called bad but if you were there you'd agree..... Last 4-5 times we have played Clay Co they have beat us but not tonight.
  15. Clay Co by 15? C'mon dude I don't care where this game is played neither team will win by 15. We are 3-1 and still trying to get our game going after football. We are getting better each game with less turnovers. We have balance scoring out of our starters right now and that's a good thing to have. The only thing bothering me right now is this is our 3rd game this week. Played Ezell Tuesday night and went to Eagleville last night..........but I think our boys will be ready........Good luck and the Green Team will see you all tonight! I truly hope we have 3 decent refs.....I thought the three we had Tuesday night at FCS were bad until last night at Eagleville.......Those three need to take up knitting or backgammon. We thought one of them was going to suit up and play point guard for the Eagleville boys team.....
  16. You are correct Cheering Mom......the rust is coming off the FCS boy's team. We got more shots at the basket last night and fewer turnovers. Hardee Sorrels kept us in the game early and then Parker Teeter came to to life.........we have had balance scoring from the starting 5 so far and our bench is playing well. Issac Wilson has had the job of defending the opponets best player so far and has done a good job. Maasen and Hill are starting to play better.....Got 2 tough games coming up Thursday @ Eagleville and Friday @ Clay Co. Good job guys and hopefully by the Christmas break we will be hitting on all cylinders
  17. FCS gets a visit from Westmoreland tomorrow night. I wonder how they will fair in 2A this year. I know they still have EJ Perry shooting the 3's.......who did they lose from last year? Both times we played them it was very very close.........we should play better tomorrow after shaking off the cobwebs Tues night at MTCS. We only have 5 teams in 8A this year with Westmoreland jumping up to 2A and MJCA going D2. Any thoughts so far? Seen where the Gmen beat Macon Co Tuesday night......Watertown lost to Eagleville (which has a real good team I heard). Not sure how TC fared against Westmoreland Tues.... Basketball threads not as popular as football!!!!!
  18. Our boys were somewhat rusty last night but came away from MTCS with a 44-36 victory. Parker Teeter led þhe way with 13 followed by Cameron Hill (9) Lee Maasen (8) Kyle Neal and Hardee Sorrels (6) and Issac Wilson (2). Middleton had 14 but only 2 threes's. Neal and Wilson did a good job on him defensively Next up EJ Perry and the Eagles of Westmoreland
  19. Seen where MTCS beat the G'men last week. And did I remember on kid scoring 30 pts from MTCS? Wow is he the shooting guard that can drain the 3's? We play the Cougars Tuesday night @ FCS and was just wondering what kind of team they had.
  20. With what I saw in the playday games at FCS JC holds the advenatage over Pickett Co. Both are good teams and have plenty of depth. Watertown had a good showing (only played the last game of the day vs PC)....not to have got to practice but 1 week with whole team. Our game with Eagleville scheduled tonight was postponed yesterday.......I guess with our football team playing this past Friday night both teams have agreed to reschedule.........That means our first game will be Dec 1st vs MTCS.
  21. I think JC won that game but not sure on the score.
  22. You are correct. It was Pickett Co.........My bad
  23. This game postponed until a later date
  24. Well its basketball season now at FCS after we had a disappointing loss in football Friday night. We open with Eagleville Monday night. Any thoughts on this game? We are practicing as I post this message. We finally get all our players back and they will bew rusty. Glad its not a district game. Give us a few under our belts and we should be ready to rumble
  25. Other than Slimshady running that yapper as usual this thread is 14 pages of....ah...ah....nothing I got one message to the West Tn guys coming this way.....Get there early and get a ticket....I bet 200 people were still in line at kickoff last Friday night. And one other thing better bring your A game cause the boys in purple are hard to beat (even away from the creekbank). I've witnessed it twice already this year........You won't stop the big disel truck (#5) you just try and slow him down. And when you start keying on him then QB #7 makes you pay with a big run and if that's not enuff you have to keep up with who is at QB....they rotate plays in and #10 can pass it........ In other words I'll take the boys in Purple by 14+
