Did you watch the same game that I did? It looked like OR played pretty well but had one matchup that Farragut took advantage of late in the game. I'll bet kids got moved around during the week because what was happening wasn't working....sounds like coaching to me.

Ok, what happened? I thought this was the year that Grace took out it's frustrations on everyone.

Did they scrimmage last week? How did it go?

Probably need to stay on Grace Academy and off the topic we are heading toward. Grace has cheated, everyone in the Karns community knows about it. The TSSAA needs to force them to suspend all athletics until they can account for all of the cheating that has gone on and is going on.

What about the other charges rumored? Anything else going to come out of Grace? They will get the "death penalty" if there is more.

Good post! The administration of the church is in damage control mode. Grace baseball fans, good job yesterday at Hardin Valley.....one of you got thrown out of the game by the umpire. Talk about bad timing!!

coaching jobs listed on ct seems to be allot of them , what gets me is they all probably are open due to losing seasons, we dont want change just cause of losing seasons we want change cause we the players deserve better than what we have been dealt. one of my favorite coaches at karns always said to me winning isnt really that important whats important is learning how to do the all things we do as a team and regardless of all the negative or bad things listed on here bout the past few years we all need to keep in mind that we are just young men learning a little here and thr and it sure should not be the worst experince we have as a team a community or as individuals, drive for change and let everyone know the little things do matter to us.

Hey SDM, thanks for giving some solid info...I think people would be more interested in your cause if there was more information like what you gave in the last post. I would hope that a list of problems would be presented to the administration.

Yes, goKarns, I have had some strong words for the mob, that's just because, as a hs coach, I understand that it is easy for people that are angry about playing time or something like that to take shots at you. (Been there, experienced that, not fun)

SDM, I am a coach but not at your school. I have no dog in the fight...my son plays baseball. I just don't think I have read anything on this site that indicates a reason for the lynch-mob mentality. Holding up signs with plays on them? A lot of teams do that, even in college. I don't really care how many people agree with me or how many are on a petition. The ones that matter are the ones who have what it takes to communicate with the administration after having communicated with the current head coach.

Not sure what you are trying to say "sdm"...was that English? Stay positive Karns boosters...if it is as bad as you are trying to say, work for change the right way. If you run this guy off, no coach in his right mind, would come there. You also need to be aware that there need to be teaching positions for the new folks. It is easy to talk about replacing HS coaches, like they do college, but much more difficult than the uninformed know.

Follow-up race needs to be at Footlocker South. Great race, great venue, great competition.

Wow, I agree with that post! Good job. Go positive Karns football folks. Go 100%, if you are right you will win out! Push for positive change. If you are "blown off" or disrespected the administration will find out...heck you can tell them about all of the positive things you have done and how you were treated. Petitions show you are angry....get past that.

I also doubt that anyone in administration at Karns knows about or care about anything on this site.

Not really far off by W.O.M. The divisions other than AAA were not very good this year. Just look at the results.

Way to step up Karns Football community. Two good men's sports programs at the school...baseball, basketball. They have stability. You all try to "can" every coach. Anyone that would take that job is a fool. No wonder you all are never any good.

If a principal looks at your petition he is a weakling. If he bows to that type of thuggery he is a fool.

Go talk to the man (principal) like men, stop lurking on internet sites. It makes you look bad. As a member of the Karns community with a grad and child in the sports programs, I think this current approach is a joke. Stop the maddness and use a professional approach.

This discussion of the Karns/Oak Ridge game sounds like a typical meeting of the Karns Little League board and coaches.

Karns will score a time or two. OR will win scoring 24 to 31 points.

One of the problems at Karns has always been that no one stays very long at head coach in any sport. The sports that are semi-successful like Baseball and Boys Basketball have established head coaches. The teaching and coaching situation must be difficult at Karns like it is in the rest of Knox County. Continuity is important if you are going to "grow" a program. Give these guys time. It's not like half of the athletes (or more) in the community didn't leave for HVA or anything like that...

I wish the TSSAA would go to a bid system for each sport. Spread the sports out across (hopefully) the mid-state. Wouldn't they make more money that way?

Not sure of his exact record but seem to remember that someone posted that it is something like 14-65-1 or so. If that is not correct please post the right record if you find it. I don't think that is what we are looking for. But, dang, we might be based on the last hire.

Living in your little OR world "VilleRam," you don't have a clue about bad administration. Visit Knox County, there is where you find disgruntled teachers and low morale and stupidity.

I do agree with you on one point....this isn't the OR that you graduated from or played for, glad you are gone.

Glad to be here, especially to defend Chuck Carringer and the amazing academic/sports programs at ORHS. Maybe VilleRam couldn't cut it and has sour grapes.

Not only is Bailey a clown, but so are his principles. I haven't talked to a teacher at ORHS yet that likes the way Chuck Carringer is running the school. What's being described as the way the school is being run is very similar to the way it sounds like the football team is being run. There are teachers frustrated with the way the middle schools are being run also. It's a new age in Oak Ridge Schools I guess. Gone are the days of very high marks in education and powerhouse sports programs and their replacements are arbitrary rules that are supposed to reduce dropout rates (which I would argue actually raise dropout rates) and learning just enough to do well on tests and middle of the road sports programs. It's sad really. This is not the ORHS I graduated from and played for.
