  1. "Why?" MC's defense has had a year to grow just like Polk has. Other teams don't set idle while Polk gets better. Can't see Polks offense improving so much that it can now put up big numbers on an improved defense that held them to 0 a year ago. Staying with my prediction: if OL steps up, it could get ugly with the talent MC has at QB, WR's, & RB's. If not, two good teams battling it out with MC coming out on top. Your right about other teams not settin idle while Polk gets better, Central seemed to get worse . Now let me ask you about Polk not putting up more than 14 on MC's D. That was one of the wost displays of sportsmanship i have ever seen from a team. #56 for Central is a good player but played dirty all night long, hitting after the play was over several times and getting caught once witch led to a Polk TD. Guess he couldnt handel being shut down. Good job Polk showed lots of class, and played hard. Keep it up and keep your head set ahead. GO WILDCATS!! Man, did i miss that one. Polks discipline, sportsmanship, and desire paid off big time. They also have more talent and speed than i expected to see. Congrads on a good win. Maybe MC can get a handle on the penalties and meet up with PC again in the playoffs with better results.
  2. Dont see Polk putting up more than 14?? Why? This is one of the best offences Polk has had in a long time. Even with a new offense it looks better than last year, better play calling, a small but fast o line, good backs with depth at each spot, stand out WR, a good qb, and that good ol Polk PRIDE= hard to handel!! However Polks D has got to bring it this week. Cant wait till the second half to start wrapping up! I keep reading all this about the MC's passing game and i agree that if #15 has time he can pick apart a secondary. On the other hand i hear how weak or "down" MC's o line is, how good can #15 throw on his back!!?? For that reason (i think Polks D gets pressure on the qb) i say Polk comes out on top by a TD. If Central gets down and loses hope (like Polk last year), Polk runs away with it by 2+ TD's. GO WILDCATS!!! "Why?" MC's defense has had a year to grow just like Polk has. 3. Strength of opponents has played a big part in centrals scoring this year compared to last, but it seems the OL play is down from last year also. Central has just as good (if not improved) offensive threats as they did last year. Prediction: If OL can protect QB and open a few holes better than last two games, i see central winning by 2 TD's or more, but not sure OL can hold PC consistently. Either way, I'm picking MC (2 TD's if OL play improves or if not, finding a way to put up 14-17 and squeaking one out in a close one). Don't see PC scoring more than 14 on MC's defense.
  4. Can't say MC is for a fact better. Maybe they are when they play at home or when they play the way they're capable of, but LA was better prepared (players and coaches) on Wednesday. That's what decides the better team at this level - no advantage with the pressure of the big stage and win or go home against teams just as good. LA faces that type of adversity all season and MC don't. That's the difference maker. MC, tough luck and congrads on a great season. LA, congrads on this one and good luck the rest of the way.
  5. Does anyone know if Jordan and McNutt's injuries are ok for them to play this week? Hope so. They're a big part of Centrals success and depth.
  6. Upperman does play a tougher schedule through the season and that's a huge advantage. How will Central handle a tough game as this one will be? I think last year, Central was a better team than what showed up at the boro but they didn't really know if they belonged there or not. After losing in the semis in the last seconds to the 08 champs, they realized after the fact that they was one of the best teams. This confidence of knowing they're much improved from that last years team that was 3 points shy of bringing it home will be huge motivation for MC. This is gonna be a good one. I'm going with the Chargers. Good luck to both and congrads on great seasons regardless of the outcome.
  7. McMinn Central: Josh Moss WR, Maury Ragland LB/RB, Ben Stiles DE, Brandon Simpson RB/S
  8. Unsportman like penalties have happened all season with several players on this team. If these penalties are not wanted in a playoff game, they must be addressed all season long. Have they been? I don't know, but apparently not well enough to keep them from reoccuring. Last night, #7 was back in the game in the same series of his first usl penalty. He was ejection because he commited a second usl penalty. He committed them and was penalized and ejected by rule. Several fans expressed their frustration towards him as he walked off the field. He was on the sidelines in full uniform after the ejection when one fan couldn't let it go and continued to yell things at the player. That's when the player retaliated by going to locker room, changed clothes, and came out to comfront the fan. This was a bad and embarrasing situation for the school, but the blame isn't all on this kid. This situation came from lack of discipline from coaches all season, lack of maturity and team respect from a player, and lack of maturity and support from an adult fan. Hopefully, this is a lesson learned for all involved. Congrats on a good season and looking foward to another one in 09.
