  1. Agreed. Catholic got lucky this year. 3A in general was down and Catholic still had to get lucky to win. If the official doesn't miss the pass interference call in the end zone at the end of the AC game, Catholic loses. If the Austin-East players weren't conveniently suspended, Catholic loses. If White House holds on the the ball, Catholic loses. If Mitchell runs the ball for the entire game, Catholic loses. Catholic won because they got lucky an unbelievable number of times. They didn't deserve the title. Luck of the Irish won't be enough next year, when Catholic will be playing the schools they should be playing. Have fun going 5-5 and missing the play-offs from here on out.
  2. Is there any truth to the rumor going around that the Catholic team has elected to just stay home and watch the SEC Championship rather than waste their time heading all the way over to MTSU just to lose?
  3. I know what's going to happen. The Catholic girly-men will be on the field sobbing after the game, because all the money in the world can't buy a gold football.
  4. /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" /> Once upon a time (last year), there were two teams. The big team, undefeated and cocky (New England) and the little team, ignored by everyone (New York). Everyone said that the big team would wipe the floor with the little team. They said that the little team shouldn't even bother to show up. But the little team didn't listen. They did show up, and beat the big team, the team that everyone said was unbeatable. History tends to repeat itself. Look for Cocky Catholic to go down and end the season having won every game except the Championship, just like the Patriots. No one thinks Mitchell can win. And that's why the will win. Mitchell 17 Knoxville Catholic 14 Just like the Super Bowl.
  5. Beating White House won't mean anything when you get whipped on Saturday! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  6. With all the people picking Catholic, I'm going to add an extra touchdown for White House. New prediction: White House 35 Catholic 3 It's never been a question of if Catholic will lose; it's just a question of when. If they don't lose here, it'll be to a vastly superior Lipscomb team in the finals. Catholic doesn't even belong in the 4th round. They were given a bye. They would not have beaten Austin-East a second time if that squad had been at full strength, but the Catholic players aren't smart enough. They will go into the game full of themselves, the favorites to win, at home; this will make them complacent and cocky and this will cause them to be destroyed on their home field. But hey, I could be wrong. Maybe they'll win and manage to postpone their execution for a week.
  7. Catholic can't win. I don't mean they won't win. I mean they can't. They are incapable of winning this game. Under Coach Pemberton, the Irish have made it to the third round of the play-offs 3 times. All three times they have faced teams they had beaten before. All 3 times they have lost (19-24 vs. BGA in 2003, 20-24 vs. Livingston Academy in 2005, 13-18 vs. Fulton in 2006). This will be no different. Austin-East by 21.
  8. Catholic in rematch games (since 2003, previous result in parentheses) 2003: DII-AA Quarterfinals W 48-10 vs. Pope John Paul II (W 42-20) DII-AA Championship L 19-24 vs. BGA (W 24-14) 2004: DII-AA Quarterfinals L 28-35 (OT) vs. Notre Dame (W 42-7) 2005: DI-AAA Second Round W 21-20 vs. Fulton (L 38-9) DI-AAA Quarterfinals L 20-24 vs. Livingston Academy (W 24-21) 2006: DI-AAA Second Round W 27-21 vs. Austin-East (W 30-19) DI-AAA Quarterfinals L 13-18 vs. Fulton (W 27-14) 2007: DI-AAA Second Round L 25-26 vs. Austin-East (W 38-14) That's a 3-5 record in rematch games. While I don't doubt that Catholic is capable of beating Anderson Co. (they've already done it once), With this in mind, I'm going to have to consider Catholic the underdog in this round and, should they manage to pull off the upset, the next round.
