Okay, okay, I know you vultures (BgD, basil puke, and Mr. Postie) are calling for my insightful wisdom so here I am. Still loud and still proud of my Blue Devils. I have to give credit to Portland for really coming out and playing a great ballgame against the Devils last Friday night. It will always take an opponets best game, perhaps nearly perfect, to beat the Devils. Portland had the horses and a great coach so an upset was not surprising in this one. This Friday will be a different story. Mo-town has not got what it takes to beat the Devisl in a District match up. Sure they may have a couple of good athletes, Champion was one of the best in the area last year, but they just don't have the total package to do what it takes to beat the Devils in White House. Our linemen will get straightened out this week, a key starter should be coming back from suspension and we will get back to winning football. It's our norm and expectation. Rock steady every year and into the playoffs. Perhaps that's why there are so many haters out there. I'll say Blue Devils 28-6. Oh yea. BDP!

The only known starter on suspension was/is the wide receiver Sizemore and I believe he was in the game. How to beat the Devils in two steps:(1)insert freshman Dback to pick fight with said receiver to reduce pass threat.(2) force QB to run inside tackles. Game over !

Yeah, i can imagine who it was. Probably the one that yells at the coaches every game that we aren't winning or we aren't throwing the ball enough. I may want to yell at them sometimes, but I respect them enough and the job they are trying to do. The boys hear those things as well and it undermines what the coaches are trying to do. I wonder what his son thinks about it, mine would be very, very embarrassed. I would think that if you are mature and passionate enough about it, go talk to the coaches on Monday! Coaches and ref's have the hardest jobs, because they can't make everyone happy and shouldn't try. It takes a thick skin to be out there on some Friday nights. Everyone is a critic, but few could manage to do the job. I support all the coaches. I am thankful for the huge amount of time they put into it, and don't envy having to face the group of warriors after a tough loss and come up with motivating or comforting words. We are very blessed to have Coach Porter and his staff. They have proven themselves over the years and have proven to be a valuable part of the White House community. Our new OC is a former Blue Devil QB and that in itself should gain some respect and appreciation. Show your BDP and not your ####!

Who ended up as "Player of the Week" from the Blue Devil Network?

May need some help from pitchfork but I know McEwen missed with Beech game and we had three OL out against Livingston. I know for a fact that WH loves to play players both ways so I don't know which of those 3 OL play on the DL. Regardless, these hurt players are back and it makes a huge difference for BDP. Smith County a good football and really good at home. White House will have to play a great game to get the W but it can be done...saving my prediction for Thursday morning!!

If the reserves didn't have a lot of playing time, this may explain the laundry being thrown at the LOS. It takes time to adjust to the speed of the game. I can see why coaches want to play their best both ways but they will pay the price. This could have implications on Thursday night if a starter goes out.

I heard that WH had been playing for a while without like four starters and that they are back now? If so that will definitely be a boost for WH. Go Owls!

What positions do they play and how many games were they out?

Coach would take that dare and stick it up your ??? White house is gonna get back to the glory days run the football to set up the passand be balanced. Nobody out works the devils. That's why we have the kook aid!!!

That's what I'm saying. Johnson comes back with the pass to compliment the run. You don't need Kool-Aid for that. Do you think this can be done without Johnson?

White House is coming in off a disappointing performance at Beech on Friday night. BDP comes in with questions left to be answered; 1. Will Heath Johnson play at QB?, 2. Will McEwen play?, 3 Will White House play a complete 4 quarter game on both sides of the ball? The Blue Devils, I believe, have a better team this year than Goodpasture but will they show up? Wicker has played well since starting his first game at QB against Station Camp but we're going to have to throw the ball successfully more if we want to make a deep run into the playoffs. The back end of our schedule is much tougher than the front end. We still have to travel to unbeaten Smith County and a much improved Macon County team comes to WH October 14. A big game with big implications is on the horizon this week.

 

Goodpasture is 3-3 but they have won 3 out of 4. They manhandled their rival David Lipscomb this past Thursday and had an extra day of rest/preparation for the Devils. They have some dangerous backs and a great QB with a solid defense.

That"s a lot of questions to carry into week 6. Oh well, here's my take. 1) Johnson will be back at QB. If the Devils go down at Goodpasture without playing the starting QB, the OC will be taking an ink spot test on Monday. Hamilton will throw everything but the kitchen sink at this one. Coaches know when to invoke discipline. 2) Decision hasn't ben made. Sizemore is good but its what McEwen does after the catch that makes him great. Size could fill some of those shoes but he will need newspaper for the toes. 3) If the Devils have 11 players on the field, they will play four quarters. 4) If the bus is running, they will show up.

Read in the newspaper today where 8 will play.

Just going by his playing time, Johnsons days are over at Blue Devil Country. Its week 5 and he has basically sit the last three. He's a good player and not the first to show some tude or look at college. Pride alone is all that's keeping him there now, but it won't be enough.

Truth is #8,McEwen,will be out at least 15 days for concussion. Johnson will return with a better attitude as wide receiver in his place(if he kisses the '97 ring).

I would have to agree that Denman from Dekalb is probably at the top. From what I saw him post last year at the state tourney and what the paper said about him, it's hard for him not to be #1.

In reply to your questions about WH, they did lose some key players last year. Most of them being post players. But that is not to say that they don't have any this year, they just aren't as experienced. As of right now it will be hard to tell because of so many players not playing due to football. They should have McMurtry playing point, or wing, Pointdexter playing low post, freshman Lahmenn playing high post, possibly low post. Tidwell playing some post, Hill playing some point or wing, Crouch playing some wing, possibly post but not likely due to his shooting skills (freshman btw). Thompson might go in at wing some. Not sure about all the rest. Should be interesting to see how they play together as a group right now because of most of our starters playing football.

Now there is an argument for both sides. Station Camp's being that White House only won by one point, and that had it not been raining then they wouldn't have dropped the hold. On the other end, White House didn't look too sharp on both ends either. This game, quite possibly, could be a last possession game. But, I believe that White House is on a roll, and that they cannot be stopped by Station Camp. They have too many weapons they can use against SC that it will overwhelm them. Not to say that it can't happen to WH because SC is very capable of doing the same thing to WH. But I don't think it will happen, not this year anyway.
