I think Coach Scott would be an excellent choice. He's a former Wildcat and knows the town and its people like the back of his hand. Sure, these big name candidates sound good but I think Scott definitely deserves a look.

Smith is a PG/Wing that was a Mr.Do-Everything for Soddy this year. Could easily have been putting up 30+ ppg but instead had to facilitate the offense and get all the younger role players involved. Smith led the team in points, steals, assists, 3pt, FG and FT%, as well as blocks ironically. He was also 2nd in rebounds. His style of play is similar to Baron Davis of the LA Clippers (real physical point guard). Most nights, opposing teams would run a Box-and-1 on Smith as he is Soddy's only real threat. Yet, he was still able to put up 20 points along with getting everyone else involved. His court vision is incredible. He gets players that have no business being on the court easy baskets with his passes. I've heard coaches say his talent is right up there with Temple's Mr. Basketball nominee Jeremy Sexton as the tops in this area.

Yea no joke... It would've been nice to end their season, yet with a 4-team district they live to see another day.

#4 Soddy Daisy upsets #1 Red Bank in the District 6AAA Tournament tonight. Game went into overtime after #23 for Red Bank sinks a 3 to go into OT. It's hard not to say Soddy's Craig Smith (27 points) isn't the best player in this region. Red Bank had beaten Soddy in both regular season meetings only to have Soddy upset them at their place tonight. Nick Ross led Red Bank with 22. College coaches and scouts, you definitely need to take a look at Craig Smith. The kid is D-1 material and if he had been on any team other then Soddy around here, he would be a household name on these boards.

No way Red Bank should be ahead of Oak Ridge. Have seen both play and OR would destroy the Red Bank Lions.

No.... That is not why they were fighting. The ref asked the crowd who had been yelling curse words at him, and McNeal's mother pointed at the man behind her. The man got upset that McNeal's mom had pointed him out and that's how it started. It was not just arguing about who's son was better. You all need to know this stuff before you jump to conclusions. In America we are innocent until proven guilty... unless your a topic on Coacht.com, of course.

Obviously, there's a lot of people on here who do not know what they are talking about. McNeal does NOT live in N.Georgia. I'm guessing McNeal will be punished by TSSAA, but what do you expect the administration to do? The kid was defending his mother... If you have a problem with that then you have more issues to worry about then what happens on Coacht.com. Many of you have commented on his family's character etc...- WHO ARE YOU TO JUDGE? I'm sure all of you have skeletons somewhere down the line in your family's closet. I can't believe that you would attack a family... especially over an internet message board. Real mature guys. I'll be the first to admit that this kid has had problems in the past- however, this time his actions were justified IMO (In My Opinion). McNeal has actually been rather calm and well-behaved this season.... maybe a 17 year old kid is MATURING- HOW CRAZY IS THAT???? So what if he puts his finger over his mouth telling a bench to be quiet. That bench had been heckling and yelling at him the whole game. Sure, he got the tech., but it is the refs fault for allowing the bench to yell at him all game. Yet McNeal's reputation preceeds him, so he gets the technical foul for a non-verbal gesture. How fair is that? When I played I did that gesture plenty of times and not once did I ever get a Tech, nor, did the refs ever even ask me not to do it again. IRONIC, or just a coincidence? Either way, many of you guys on here are judging this kid on his past actions and are not looking at what the circumstances were. Any of you would be proud to have McNeal on your team, as well as Templeton as your coach. Get off your high horses and look in the mirror and get a reality check Mr. Perfect(s).

Yea, it's not like McNeal was just joining his friends in a fight... he was defending his mother, so you have to feel for the kid. His ejection turned around the whole game since Red Bank hadn't been able to guard him the whole night. Soddy had another player (hadn't played at all in the game), who was ejected for leaving the bench during the brawl, but he didn't get involved in it- I think him and McNeal are distant kin. It's a tough spot for a 16/17 year old kid to be in. I just wish the adults on these message boards would know the circumstances before they label a kid as a 'disgrace' to a program or high school. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rolleyes:" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
