Danley with 15 ks for Huntland and Linton for Eagleville with 10ks and the win. Well played game by both squads. Expect both teams to have deep runs in May.

Both teams have a really good shot.

Nah the Jasper rivalry won’t end.  CCJ knows and understands that rivalry all too well.  I’m glad we are playing NJ.  The difference between the NJ and Jasper game is there won’t be any bad blood with NJ yet we will still get a great rivalry atmosphere.

No contest, South Pitt by a bunch.  Good gate game though.

In the year 2000, Georgia Speaker of the House Tom Murphy, who for decades was the most powerful man in the state (the old running joke was “Why would you want to run for Governor and go to work for Tom Murphy?”) Murphy’s daughter in law was debate coach at Atlanta area Class A public school Bremen. Murphy was tired of her team finishing behind private schools in the region every year, and let it be known that the state would take control of the GHSA if something didn’t change. The GHSA blinked and changed Ga. from a 4 class to a 5 class state, that got the private schools out of Bremen’s region and into Class AA, and Speaker Murphy was satisfied and dropped the subject. Along the same lines, about 12 years later, the South Ga. public 1A schools were fed up with losing in the state playoffs, every year, in every sport to 1A Metro Atlanta private schools. They called a meeting with the intent of leaving the GHSA and forming their own association. Once again the GHSA blinked and created separate playoffs for public and private schools in Class 1A.

Riverdale must have been our Tom Murphy.  No one cared about the privates winning in A and AA.  Then they beat Riverdale and all heck broke loose.

  4. Whoever gets this job will have some big shoes to fill.  When Vic got out of coaching the first time South Pitt went down hill quick.  When he took the job back they immediately became contenders again. Proof that Vic was the man for the job.  the other guy was a great coach but could not get it done at the Pitt.  Hope this does not happen with this hire.

I still haven’t seen an article or a link to inform any one. Post a link since you supposedly see it.

You evidently cant get on a website and read so i posted what was on the TSSAA website. Dont know how to make any easier for you. I am not going to post step by step directions of how to get to it on their website.

This is exactly the point.  I heard Wilkins for GC say after the region championship game in radio that they still weren’t sure how the draw was going to be done.  There’s no excuse for the coaches not the be directly contacted and let them know.  The last thing coaches should be doing right now is being worried about looking around on tssaa website.

Thats why you have a AD, to keep the coach informed.

  7. Info for teams making the state tournament on the TSSAA web site.  Stated that there would not be a meeting for a draw like always and that the draw had been already made just waiting to see which teams made the sectionals to post it. The only unfair thing was that it had to be made out so regional teams would not be in the same bracket.

Yes exactly. Its not about who is in the bracket or trying to get the easy route to finals. Its the secrecy of it all. Coaches not invited even virtually? All hush hush coaches didn't even know? That's ridiculous. We are use to lopsided brackets. Its the way it was done. If nothing to hide then why hide

If the coaches would check the TSSAA web site they would know whats going on.  All of this was posted for a while.
