Huntlands offense was not very good against CA but played excellent defense and got the win. Looking forward to going to cornersville tuesday night.

cullys biggest lead was like 17 or so and at halftime Ca was down like 11 or 12. it was a close game. at least for a district team to face the almighty culleoka.

 

but enough of that:

 

i want information on huntland, cullypride, i assume you've seen them play what do they have.

I think Huntland has one guy 6'4" the rest are around 6'0 to 5'9" or so. Play well together and are well coached. Start 1 sr 1 jr 2 so and the other spot could be anyone.

Huntland girls played well led the whole game mostly by double digits. After losing a returning starter from last year the girls seem to have a great attitude and play with much more effort than last year. The lady hornets could possibly pull off an offset in the second round. Good luck to the girls and the coaches.

A lot of people are still doubting Huntland. I think their kids enjoy the underdog role. Played without one starter last night and still managed get far enought ahead to clear the bench. Friday night will be a big one in Huntland. The home bleachers will be full and the gym will be rocking. By the way my prediction on the corn/cully game proved to be correct. Corn two big scorers did score in double digits together. District should be interesting the rest of the year. GO REBELS

this is a big week for those teams hoping to host first round games for the tournament. it also will be close to wrapping up the first round of district games. positions 2 thru 7 are up for grabs.

You are right. no one in this district can even come come close to giving cullys water girls trouble. darnell didnt even make the trip to huntland because of illness. that wipes his average off the scorebard not to mention the fact that he forces alot of outside shots. When he is not in the game it forces stiles to play out of position. The reason they will give cully trouble is that stiles is not afraid to take it to the rim no matter who is in the paint! As for darnell he will use his strengt to score points and not rely on his height to score points like the twins do. The twins dont have to be that physical to score cause they are at the rim on a simple turn around jumper. Cully has not played many teams can defend the twins when they are in the paint.

Culleoka will win this game hands down. The so called big men from cornersville will not be a factor unless they can dribble the ball down the floor against culleokas press. Not a fan of either team just stating the facts that some people cant stomach. Culleoka is as good as their hype. We as a district should give them the credit they deserve. They have played a tough schedule and have held their own against many AA and AAA teams. They might be better than they were last year. Good luck to all district teams.

Did Coach White and Coach Brown get together and add up all the points. Wonder which school will retire her jersey (possibly both). Wished this young lady would have finished school where she started. Makes people wonder what could have been and why it happened.

I have one question for a genius like you or should I say a know it all like you.... How many years of coaching experience do you and your little so called friends that "talk" have?... To the best of my knowledge, which by the way I do not claim to have a lot of for the sport, but I am pretty sure that swapping the boys in and out is called keeping them fresh. But from what I gather from you is that you want one or two boys to be the show. I think Coach Ray is a very talented and respected Coach, but it is people like you who trash talk and make the boys upset with all the LOUD mouth talk or should I say screaming, from the stands. And no, Coach Ray is not Mike Potts nor should he try to be. Potts was and still is a wonderful coach and a great person but Coach Ray is his own person with his own coaching abilities and does a teriffic job if people like you would stay out of it. And I am sure Mike Potts would agree and disagree with some things Coach Ray does.... but guess what? In the end it really does not matter what you or your friends think because he is the coach and he will continue to be the coach, unless that is if you want to step up and show your all mighty skills... unless trash talking people is the only skill you have... We should all be teaching our kids to respect their coaches instead of running them down, and by the way,I really can't remember ever seeing a boy come off the court shaking in their shoes with fear. We need to support our coaches who dedicates a huge amount of their time with our kids. So before you bad mouth again just stop and think, he is giving up a lot for these kids and never says one word because he loves the game and the kids, only to have people like you run him down..... So as a new years resolution, try to be positive and say good things or nothing at all. I mean really, this is a small town where everybody knows EVERYBODY, so try to consider that people do have feelings and a heart regardless to what you think. I am sure Coach Ray will not lose one minutes sleep over the things you say but always remember one thing, things always comes back home to ya.

The girl in question who quit durning summer camp DID NOT QUIT SHE transfered to a better program.

 

As for as Mr. Tipps, you have your opinion and I have mine. I nor do a lot of people like him.

Its not hard to understand 4 or more teams you 2 playoff berths less than 4 you get 1 berth. This is done by classification. 4 or more 2A teams 2 berths 4 or more 1A teams 2 berths, less than four one berth. Wild cards will fill the rest of the backet. Its not to hard to figure out that part. who and where you play that is another question.r

Just curious what school or schools has coach Tipps coached at ?

Head coach t Coffee County and Moore County. Both teams were well coached and won more than their share of games.

The choice you have is to play or not play. Tipps is a great coach. Quitting is not a classy choice. I am not from loretto nor do i cheer for them. Tipps is a class guy who does a great job coaching. Some communities do not support coaches who try to teach the kids the right way to play. Keep up the good work coach tipps.

I'm sorry but to whom were you speaking? Farmer or Mr knowitall? Anyway, I know all about "sarcasm". But he said lets just give Cully the trophy or better yet just just draft them. Since he has only let us know he is a fan of cornersville and not a NBA coach, one would think he was speaking of his beloved Bulldogs. But alas, I give up......

 

Since it upsets you so much to mention Cully I will now cheer for your teams starting now:

 

Cornersville and CA are clearly the cream of the crop in 11a!!!! Cully has played no one!!!!! Cornersville post player will destroy them because he is so much more Physical that no one can hang!!!!

 

CA will dominate everyone except maybe Cornersville because they have the best guard. he is the best in the district and nobodt else can hang. They have been playing better than anyone else with the exception of Cornersville. When these 2 teams meet it will be for everything!!!!! They will both go to STATE!!!!!!

 

Cully is "overrated" and won't be able to play defense against these to scoring machines!!!!!!!

some coaches need wins and bless their hearts ours do. its not just wild its all the major sports. look at the schedules the past few years. Its really not their fault the fans think their kids are all americans and expect 20 wins every year.

Didnt get to make it to the game, Cully must be that good. Congrats to Culleoka. We need to work harder and get the ship back above the water. Keep your heads up hornets and keep working to get better.

Huntland has improved tremendously since last year. This game will tell them how much they have improved and what they need to improve on. Culleoka has a good program and they are well coached. I just dont see one of the twins being ale to defend one of huntlands guards. I could be wrong, just dont see it. Keep your confidence up guys they play the game for a reason. TO SEE WHO WINS>

huntland has been impressive lately and i expect them to keep it up i bet huntland and culleoka game is a 5 point game. Only because cully hasn't played good at all even though atwane has become a beast the last three games he will be the difference on offense and defense he will gaurd huntlands best player if cj don't.

Antwane on a guard, that might give the hornets a better chance than they already have.

You tell em 27. the hornets won the game and were not playing their best. The kids seem to be playing hard and having fun. What about the little cheering section thats started forming at the games. I think they kept the hornets in the game when richland made a few runs. Keep up the hard you have a big game tuesday at culleoka. No one will give you a chance in this game. Believe in your coaches and each other and see what happens.

Could be a very important game for both teams. Hope the weather dont interfere.
