Huntland is much improved and without the GREAT SIMS. Attitude and defense much improved with the HUNTLAND girls.

I've got Cornersville by double digits! Between the Stiles kid and the Darnell kid, way too much size for the Hornets. Throw in a couple of guards who can get hot from the outside, this game may turn into a blow out!!

Nomad you almost got it right. Hornets win by 20. Styles non factor Robertsons arms were to long for him to get many shots off. Stick with us, you were picking us early, stay on board we need a little support.

Any truth to the rumor that tyler rice quit basketball. The rumor was on another post and i could not believe that would happen.

Stiles is okay but i dont think he will win this one by himself. I can see the hornets slowing himdown. Now the big heavt set kid might give them some problems. I am going outon a limb and picking huntland in this one. I think their big kid will outplay stiles and huntland will win.

There is a friendly little rivalry between these two teams. This game could have future consequences, such as hosting a first round game in the tournament. Some guys from both teams need to mature and realizr what it takes to win the big one/

I also noticed that Coach Robertson from Huntland and Coach Rice from Wayne Co were on that all mid state team. Dont they also have sons that are playing now.

Is this Ashabraner any kin to the one who was midstate player of the year in 1981. Just curious

did not mean to make anyone mad. I really dont like individual awards when the team is most important.

Region 6 MVP?.......How about the only one that won the Mr. Football award in the area.........#88 Preston Gilbreath......good enough in my opinion. And maybe one of the best D-lineman to ever play for mTp......

 

Unless you want flash and dash for a MVP.....then he's not the choice....... But overall, probably the best football player in region 6 this year. JMO...

Did he win the award or was he nominated for the award. MVP is sometimes misunderstood. Is one person more valuable to one as another person is to his team?? I saw the Tigers play while he was injured and i did not see to much of a drop off. Not being critical just wondering.

I do know that the mr football has turned in to a popularity contest just the espn award(used to be the heisman, know they give ot to whoever espn thinks needs it). My schools coach will not vote for any player who sends out advertisements for the award. special media people make the final selection anyway. They are all from nashville, memphis, knoxville, big cities.

You might be right. The hornets dont play my team anymore, i hope they can win a few games. They have a chance this year to surprise some teams.

Don't count Richland out!! They played a close ball game against Eagleville last night. If they had just had a couple of more mintues I think they could have won by 10. They fought from behind all night. They answered runs but made stupid mistakes to keep themselves behind. They shoot the 3 ball extremely well from all positions. Duke is a huge threat inside and out. Look for the Lady Raiders to upset some people!!

I do not see eagleville going to the state tournament this year. Why would you be happy to play them close and lose. Sounds like it could be a long year for the lady raiders.

It's hard for me to believe Whitwell would schedule Sunbright and travel many more miles than play Grundy Co. That doesn't make sense to me. Could it be that Coach Taylor is still miffed at Grundy Co because he didn't get the head coaching job there?

Maybe coach taylor wanted to play sunbright, did you ever think of that.

They definitely have some winnable games on here. Their first few they can win:

 

CB, Sunbright, DB and Huntland are very winnable games. LV will be somewhat difficult but it is still winnable. Taft is another team that is winnable, you just never know who you will get when you play them. (Is winnable even a word) Their last few teams though are not going to be very fun.

Huntland thinks the whitwell game is very winnable for them.

Huntlands none district are whitwell, cornersville, columbia academy, and riverside. This district is almost teh old duck river conference.

Huntland has looked good so far. Seem to be playing better with each other. They have some good players just need to come together as a team.
