  1. Its never easy when you lose a game like Benedictine did yesterday. hats off to Briarcrest for being adamant. up by 7 with over a minute left how do you not put your foul shooters in the game. Also I have to say this but hats off to Cameron Wright of Benedictine for showing everyone how good of a defensive player he is by holding Mcdonald to 7 points through 4 quarters. Unfortunately he fouled out with 2 minutes to go and Mcdonald took over after his shadow had to sit on the bench. Good game would've been better if my Bengals won but good luck to Briarcrest. Please someone tell me if it was just me but do you think it was a homer job against Benedictine if you have 3 minutes left in a tight game and the foul situation is 9-2 in favor of Briarcrest. please tell me I'm wrong. up to that point Benedictine only had 4 fouls called for them the WHOLE GAME until Briarcrest started to foul to put them on the line.
  2. I was very impressed with how well DB represented thier home state on Saturday against my Bengals. All I have to say is that was a GUT check win for Benedictine after going through a little trouble just to get to the tournament and not having one of our starters. I like the fact that DB was face guarding Cameron Wright the entire game. It worked well in the first half with a shutout but he got it going in the second half finishing with 14 points including 2 key freethrows for the win. I guess no one read my post about Derek Jackson in the other Arby's Classic thread. That Edwards kid is Tough! where is he playing college ball? Hopefully tonight my Bengals will finally have one of the main starters playing (couldn't play because of OHIO rules ya know politcs) but hopefully its all worked out tonite because we are going to need him if we want to advance against Briarcrest. Well good luck guys talk to ya later.
  3. Also guys/gals can you pleas do me a huge favor and give me any updates and critiques of my favorite team Cleveland's Benedictine. tell me what you think of #s 22,32,24,34. I think you will be impressed. THANKS!!!

  7. I know Monsignor Pace(FL) has a nice player that committed to louiville in Rakeem Buckles 6'8 215. He played for the Florida Rams in AAU. Unfortunately Gate City will play them on the 26th at 8:30pm and it will definitley be a battle. But I expect Gate City to come out with guns blazin.
  8. well looking at Briarcrest's lineup its about the same. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
  9. TOP OF THE MORNIN TO YA TENNESSEE!!!!!! Thought I'd Chime in on a topic that peaks the old interest....The Arby's Classic. Main reason being is one of the Best teams in Ohio (They are picked to win the DIV 2 championship this year)is playing in this years tourney by the name of the Benedictine Bengals from Cleveland. Just to give you guys a heads up on the Bengals.... My buddy sent me and email with some info so here it is. They have four D1 College recruits in the starting rotation and a fifth who will be by seasons end. They only have one senior on the team. Here are the key players CAMERON WRIGHT [/b]- 6'5.5 190pd Junior Guard verballed to OHIO STATE in Sophomore campaign. lightning quick first step, slasher that can get to the @@@@ very easy. Can be a deep threat but his weapon of choice is a beautiful pull up jumper. Wright doesn not need to be a scoring threat to dominate a game. his defense, rebounding and court vision is what makes him dangerous. On any given night he is a walking triple double. a little too unselfish for me but he will and can light up a score board. DEREK JACKSON [/b]- 6'0 172pd Junior Guard regarded by some as the best point guard regardless of class IN O-H-I-O.(depends on what part of the state /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" ). I would think its a coaches dream to have a pg that can control the tempo of a game and manage the offense and then in a split second torch any defense with an offensive onslaught. explosive is all I can say. Deadly from the perimeter hit over 50% of three's last year and can easily penetrate the lane for a pullup or a nice dish. after averaging 17pts and 7asts as a sophomore it was his defense and 4 steals a game that set him apart to me from any other pg. Like Cameron Wright he plays the game with a High basketball IQ. Oh BTW...Derek has a short man's complex so he loves to dunk on BIG MEN. NICK HARNEY - 6'7 215pd Junior Guard/Forward Very strong, very agile, and deceptively athletic young man. Harney has guard skills with a post players mentality. a rare breed that can guard larger opponents in the post and can put the ball on the floor to ease past any opponent. he's the type of player that will keep your frontcourt in foul trouble because he's one of those tricky players with hesitation moves and head fakes(THAT WORK). He is a rebounding machine especially on the offensive glass. It is unbelievable how hard he works down low and then can step out on the perimeter and drain some three balls. LIAM WALSH - 6'6 230 Junior Guard/Forward. All I can say is wow! someone his size with handle and court vision out of this world. Besides Derek jackson Liam probably is the best shooter on the team. it won't be unusual to see this young man post up and then come off a screen to drain a jumper. Strong and scrappy and most importantly plays with his head. With the other three young stars you know what to expect but with Liam thats what gives him the edge. An opponent won't know what exactly to do. If you back off of him he will hit the perimeter shot if you try to play up on him he's going right passed you. and of course the X FACTOR.. ROBERT STALLION - 6'4 200pd Senior Guard/Forward Bottom line the heart of the WHOLE TEAM. does ALL the dirty. he is the emotional leader and he leads by example. He is exactly what his last name sais... A WORK HORSE. /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" /> Can't truly explain how someone his size can contain, stop, hold, and bully someone 6'7-6'10 and take them out of the game mentally. I can imagine how frustrating it is for big men to look at this guy and wonder how in the world does he do it. Bottom line this team comes hard and they come fast and they won't and don't let up. Everyone can shoot and everyone can definitely defend. They don't care how big a team is or what hyped up players a team may have, at the end of the day its open season and they play like shark with blood in the water. Ok well that's the end of the email I was sent. Hope you guys In Tennessee have a new found respect for OHIO ball like OHIO has for you.
