  1. This is my last post on this topic. Again, I have already appoligized if I was misunderstood in my intentions. I also already explained what I meant when I said those things, so I won't go there either. I just want to clarify that I am not a parent of any of the girls I mentioned. I don't want to argue anymore about who said/meant/did what, I just want to watch our girls as they play their last games of the season and I look forward to watching EVERYONE in the Districts. I agree with you when you say, "Good luck to all!" Every team is going to give all they have this weekend and it is going to be fun to see how things go.
  2. Thank you trueblue. That is all I was trying to say. I did not mean to upset anyone, I was only trying to say that these are some great pitchers that need to be watched. I did not mean that the other players on the team were not as good as the pitchers, because like you said, it takes 9 people to play the game and a win or loss never comes down to one person. Sometimes a pitcher pitches a perfect game and her team does not hit and makes some errors and she loses. Sometimes, a pitcher has a bad day and walks a lot of people and gives up a lot of hits and her offense bails her out by scoring a ton of runs. I was just saying that no matter what the team does behind these pitchers, they are pretty good pitchers. And, I only commented on the pitchers because this topic is about the "Top Pitchers." If it were about top infielders I would comment on some top infielders, if it were about top hitters I would comment on top hitters. All I was saying is that these three pitchers do not play on undefeated teams so they are not always noticed as they should be. I am sorry if you took offense to what I said, but please understand that I was only trying to prove that these were good pitchers. If these are pitchers for your team, be proud of them, if not, you better hope you never have to face them! lol!
  3. I'm not only going to compliment "Senior" pitchers, because not every team has one, but there are some good Upperclassmen pitchers in 7AAA. I would note Caralisa Connell (Siegel) , Natalie Papini (Blackman), and Anna Mullins (Lebanon). These three pitchers are not backed up very well sometimes by their defense and offense. Connell carries her team because she is an excellent pitcher and Papini and Mullins are also very good pitchers if you ever watch them play.
  4. Siegel's got the pitcher and Riverdale's got the bats. Put Riverdale's bats behind Siegel's pitcher and they would be unstoppable.
  5. I have nothing against Wilson Central, but I will say that Siegel, Blackman, and Riverdale play in one of the toughest disctricts in the state. You could take one of the 4th, 5th, or 6th place teams from District 7AAA and they would be in one of the top three spots in any other district. Of course our top three teams would probably dominate in any other district. You may have a great record in any other district, but in 7AAA, any team can beat you on any given night. Most districts have one, maybe two really good teams, but 7AAA has several great teams that all have to play and beat each other. Want to know why Blackman is not in the top 10? It is because they have to play Riverdale and Siegel 2 times each. They also have losses to Cookeville and Lebanon, two other competitive teams in 7AAA. Blackman has a great pitcher and a great team, but it is all about who you play. So, WC, congrats on having a great season, you have beaten the teams you should beat and lost to some good teams too, just like everyone else that didn't make it into the top 10. The "Top 10" is just a list that some person puts together based on games that they haven't seen. Let's be proud of our girls whether they are in the "Top 10" or not.
  6. Yeah!!! We have played #1, #5, and #8 off of this list!!! HAHAHA!!! We don't stand a chance against those teams!
  7. Sounds like your team IS doing better this year, but I think all the teams in 7AAA have gotten better. It will be interesting to see where everyone falls this year. It is still too soon to predict where everyone is going to end up. I will be able to see your team play soon. Good luck to you everyone in 7AAA! May the best team win!!!

    7AAA

Oakland lost several seniors so we will have to wait and see what they have coming back. I agree with your top three, except maybe not in that order, and I'd throw Lebanon into that mix. Riverdale only lost one senior, who didn't even play most of last year because injury so they will still be the team to beat. Lebanon also only lost one senior last year. They were a young team last year with young pitching and they grew a lot during the year. The first time I saw them play last year, it was sad, but by the end of the year, they had really turned it around. I saw them playing Blackman in the district tournament and it was a real close game. Lebanon's pitcher did a great job facing Blackman's more experienced pitcher. I think Blackman would still be favored to come in second, but Lebanon and Siegel aren't going to back down from a fight for it. Cookeville has some young talent and will also be improved this year. Warren Co. and White Co. are also improving. It will be a very interesting year.
