  1. First to respond before criticism. <insert criticism HERE .... >>>>>>>>>
  2. Something to argue about after the National Championship Game. http://leagueathletics.com/Page.asp?n=66840&snid=dHKF%5D6K%3E%5C&org=tennwrestling.com Shout out to Christian Brothers winning the Gateway to the Best Duals in St. Louis, MO and to the other Memphis teams (Collierville, Germantown, Arlington) who went down to the Bayou to take on teams from LA, TX, OK, AL, and FL. There was one top-10 matchup this past week with #5 Bradley Central once again beating #8 Walker Valley 39-24 this time. Also a big thanks to Arlington for hosting us on Saturday against Central Baptist (AR). I want to personally thank Coach Foreman of Pigeon Forge for having his team represent Tennessee next weekend against teams from KY, GA, and AL in the NCWA National Duals in Dalton, GA. He won't get to enjoy it, however, as he will be running a top-100 tournament that same day.
  3. By the way...a team to be named later (hopefully later today) will be stepping up to represent Tennessee...and QUITE well I believe...
  4. Case in point. The only way I ever find out results like above is if Garrett posts them on CoachT...NWCAonline only has 2 of the above duals even listed being that against CBC-ST. Louis and Mexico. Great Job CBHS! In my opinion they should be ranked around the #39-43 range on InterMat and I do think (as I have stated on other threads) that both Cleveland and Soddy Daisy deserve consideration for top-50 with Father Ryan right behind.
  5. The point i was making is that I advertised this starting last February before any schedules were made and have continued to do so throughout the year.
  6. I have tried over and over again to get TN teams into a National Dual tournament on January 19th that will get you exposure to over 20 college teams not to mention coverage by Flowrestling, Takedown Radio, and Theopenmat. I have had 3 teams think that they could participate only to eventually say they can't come. Will a TN team step up and get 3-4 duals in front of a national audience to represent against KY, GA, and AL? Let me know if your team can wrestle that date Asap..931-222-7213. MTSU is co-host and will cover entry fee. The event is in Dalton, GA.
  7. CBHS has gotten respect on other posts in this forum, but usually don't get noticed as much as others. One reason could be that the results for the Christian Brothers matches aren't always posted and many of the people that work hard to get TN Wrestling exposure are in fact at tournaments and duals with youth, high school, and college and don't have time to sit on coacht all day.
  8. Man...it would have been very tough to vote on the Most Outstanding Wrestler Award. Congrats to all the winners and to Cyree on the honor! How about Brandon Hunt...what an amazing run!
  9. Lineups for 1/5/13 at Arlington H.S. MT vs. CBC 125 Shane Shaffner (MT) vs. Peter Acuna (CBC) 133 Anthony Patnode (MT) vs. John Luken (CBC) 141 Eric Feuerbacher (MT) vs. David Overy (CBC) 149 Gabe Gamadamis (MT) vs. forfeit 157 Brian Keiffer (MT) vs. forfeit 165 Everett Colbert (MT) vs. Austin Gonzalez (CBC) 174 Khris Sawyer (MT) vs. Ben Roserio (CBC) 184 Jonathan Roberts (MT) vs. Joel Deere OR Rickey Tate (CBC) 197 Robert Anderson, Jr. (MT) vs. John Lopez (CBC) 285 Rashied Rayford (MT) vs. John Pflasterer (CBC) --- will have additional matches between Shaffner and Luken at 133 Patnode and Acuna at 133 Gamadamis and Overy at 149 Nathan Williams (MT) and Gonzalez at 165 Roberts and the other 184

  11. I believe Cole von Ohlen was the #5 seed? Thanks for reporting William!
  12. Thanks for answering Kyle...hotels can be found at www.ncwaDOTnet in the special events section. Bryan Knepper 931-222-7213
  13. I need a TN team on Jan 19th in Dalton, GA..you will get 4-5 duals..entry fee waived Contact me at coach.knepperATgmail.com
  14. Memphis wrestlers and wrestling fans, Come out to Arlington H.S. this Saturday to see MTSU take on Central Baptist College at 4pm Central time. There are several Memphis area wrestlers on the MT roster including Shane Shaffner (125 Kingsbury), Nathan Williams (165 Kingsbury), Hunter Badon (174 Arlington, injured reserve), Robert Anderson (197 Southwind), and Rashied Rayford (285 Southwind). It is also an opportunity to see another "local" program out of Arkansas.
  15. My apologies...Cleveland won Osceola, CBHS from reports I saw was in the metro St Louis area ...assumed MO...and McCallie won the Heart of Dixie in AL.
  16. I will be posting next State Dual Rankings after the new year (1/7/13). Have a Great New Year! Shout out to McCallie winning in Osceola, FL, to the boys from Baylor placing at the Gatorade in PA, and to Christian Brothers winning in MO. Great job to all...looking forward to seeing CBHS back in the top-50 on InterMat after scoring higher than Archer (GA) and Neosho (MO), which was ranked #42 in last poll. Also to Father Ryan winning the Indy Duals in a Simpson vs. Simpson matchup in the finals. I think an argument could be made for CBHS, Soddy Daisy, and Cleveland to all be in that top-50, but respect takes time and repetition.
  17. Cole Von Ohlen of Air Force (149 lb 3rd seed) and Matt Miller of Navy (174 lb 4th seed) were both NCWA National Champions and Outstanding Wrestlers (2009, 141 lbs and 2012, 184 lbs respectively) in the tournament as well. Great to see them doing so well and being that highly regarded.
  18. Also a shout out to a Region 1 that has come light years from when I first started watching high school wrestling here 6 years ago. Science Hill, Dobyns Bennett, Jefferson Co, and Greeneville have all done well this year. Although admittedly Science Hill is a little down this year from years past after losing key wrestlers from last year's team.
  19. Dual Rankings people...and yes great job by the Cleveland Blue Raiders on a 2nd place finish at McCallie with 2 starters out of the tournament placing behind a very tough Archer (GA) team. Anyone that would like to take over the Dual Rankings next year, please send me an e-mail so that you can take them over next season. As far as bias...here are my rankings from Monday Dec 24th for D-1: 1. Soddy Daisy <Region 4 ~ regions are listed for duals> 2. Cleveland <Region 4> 3. Wilson Central <Region 5> 4. Heritage <Region 3> 5. Bradley Central (moved up 1 spot) <Region 4> 6. Blackman (moved up 1) <Region 5> 7. Pigeon Forge (moved up 8) <Region 2 ~ small school> 8. Walker Valley (moved up 1) <Region 4> 9. Franklin (moved down 5) <Region 6> 10. Brentwood (moved down 2) <Region 6> 11. Cookeville (moved down 1) <Region 5> 12. Hixson (moved up 1) <Region 5 ~ small school> 13. Clarksville (moved down 2) <Region 7> 14. Beech (moved down 3) <Region 7> 15. Science Hill (moved down 1) <Region 1> 16. Centennial <Region 6> 17. Collierville <Region 8> 18. Dickson Co <Region 7> 19. Ravenwood <Region 6> 20. Dobyns Bennett (wasn't ranked) <Region 1> 21. Jefferson Co (moved down 1) <Region 1> 22. Germantown (moved up 2) <Region 8> 23. Greeneville (moved down 2) <Region 1 small school> 24. Arlington (was not ranked) <Region 8> 25. Houston (was not ranked) <Region 8> As far as Middle Tennessee area goes, only one team moved up and it was Blackman (1 spot) by virtue of Franklin (another MT area team) moving down 5 spots. By region breakdown one could say I have a bias for Region 4, with 4 of the top 8 teams hailing from that region...but then again, that is where the dual power lies and has shown from this season (and many in the past). If you disagree with my reasoning for rankings (which is shown after EACH team's ranking on the detailed rankings) then by all means disagree and publicly post such. But to say I am biased and not give any reference as to why is rather petty and at minimum unfair. If my rankings are not appreciated, I will just stop doing them. My wife would be happy that I am no longer spending 8-12 hours each week on research to aid in said rankings. Regards. Bryan Knepper
