  1. Hey bulldogfan i missed the game can you tell me what fairview was doing that was dirty. I am a fairview fan but I do not condone dirty play. Also want you to know you have a great coach over there. Coach Rewis will continue to grow the program as long as the players are willing to put in the work. He is the coach who turned us around.
  2. This is at least the 4th one called back I am beginning to think the officials are watching us a lot more closely than other teams. I watched the film of the kickoff return at page I thought that call was horrible but then again those officials were the worst I have seen this year. Go Jackets
  3. Fairview has struggled with physical smash mouth teams this year. They dont seem to be playing with the intensity level of last year. The jackets lineman on both sides of the ball must be prepared to control the line of scrimmage. One thing that is missing this year is the success of the wheel route to #21. The seam is not getting created like it was last year. The jackets have to understand a Coach Rewis team will be physically strong well coached and believe they can win.
  4. Jack has led this team for 3 years and earned the respect of his teamates. Having number 7 come in and play well will make the team better down the line. There is no controversy Jack is the QB of this team. I would like to see some special offensive schemes for #7. I wish the best for Lewis County the rest of the season I have always liked their toughness and the concept of team first. As I wrote in an earlier post your quarterback is a good one who will take your team a long way this season.
  5. Watched the game , lewis county is a well coached good football team. Your quarterback is the best I have seen to date. Both teams were pretty chippy tonight. What did you see from fvhs that caused you to say they are dirty? I would like to see the fvhs team stop all the post play stuff. Somewhere down the line this will cost them in a game.
  6. Fairview has looked great in the first 2 games this year tonight was not their night. Creekwood came in with a great game plan. Our team is a little banged up and was not able to generate big plays. I wonder if getting state ranked had any affect on the team and if it helped fire up Creekwood. Our team will be do just fine the rest of the season Giles County will be tough but we should make the playoffs. My only concern is our lack of size. During the course of the season we may get run down. Go Jackets. If you have not watched a game this year you should. The team is very exciting they play a wide open no huddle offense that rang up over 90 points in the first 2 games.
  7. I will try to get an update from one of the coaches tomorrow. I have spoken with a friend at the game he told me the team is not looking very sharp. A little of that can be due to the new offensive and defensive schemes they are running. It is a little early to panic. Some of the returning players do not like the new defensive scheme as much as the one coach Whitefield had.
  8. Surprised he can keep up with two login names. I bet (gambling reference) they are on post it notes to make it easy. I have had enough fun reading this blog. It has become old news. WrestleRed or Invn01, it is all yours now. Bye.
  9. I think the line about checking scores was related to gambling. If it is about gambling we have more important things to worry about than winning football games.
  10. GOOD LUCK TO THE JACKETS. To Coach Whitefield You have grown as a coach and as a person. I wish you the best in your new environment. I am sure this move will be much better for your career. You will not be asked to work a concession stand nor will you be asked to work with a flag football coach as an assistant. Anyone who knows football recognizes your ability to find weaknesses in an opponents schemes. It will not be long before Fairview players and fans realize we have lost a good coach. To Coach Hughes Good luck, you have what you wanted. I remember reading a Fairview Observer article some time ago. The article was about you and John Jubilee teaming up to bring your championship caliber of coaching to Fairview's Pee Wee football program. I look forward to this championship caliber of coaching for our Yellow Jackets. I also want you to know that in my opinion Tony Donen has made a mistake I do not think you are not ready to coach a high school team. We will all know if I am wrong very soon. To Ron King You deserved better. Did they tell you that Chris Hughes was getting the job before announcing it. I bet they did not. I hope you continue coaching but will understand if you cannot be a part of the new staff.
  11. Knife to a gun fight???? You continue to under-whelm me. I am disappointed in your lack of debate technique, although it does follow a liberal pattern. You know do not discuss the issues, make the post petty. Good job GR. I do see a future for you as a spokesman for coach Hughes. Good Luck. I will agree with you on Obama, nothing else.
  12. WrestleRed, Let's not distort the issue. I will not get down in the gutter with a gutter rat. My concern is for the players of Fairview not your feelings or your inability to recognize the bigger problems associated with this issue.
  13. WrestleRed, glad to see you can use fonts. your vocabulary is not so impressive. You might want to leave this post for those with a minimum of a high school education. It seems words with more than one syllable give you trouble
  14. WOW. this is surprising. I was afraid this type of decision was going to be made by Ricky Jones and the rest of the administration. I hope for the best to the players of Fairview. This process is a perfect example of how not to run a athletic program department. 1. Give the existing coach a set of rules that he can agree to. 2. Force him into a corner by mandating he hire a middle school coach (who applied for the job when Coach Whitefield was hired) 3. Conduct a search that is nothing more than a facade. 4. Hire the middle school coach when other applicants have more experience and want the job. I believe one candidate has been at the school as an assistant coach for 10 years. If the administration wanted to make a change, man up and tell the current coach it is time to go. Ricky Jones should be ashamed of him-self. I hope Coach Hughes can put together a good staff for the returning seniors. These seniors have been to the play-offs 3 straight years and deserve the best opportunity to win. Let's hope for the best.
  15. 66in74 makes a great point. Bringing the middle school coach on as an assistant has to be a decision made by the head coach. Your source is correct.... The sources I am hearing from are all saying coach Hughes was being forced on the HC.
  16. As many of you have written, I too hope the school looks for a good educator who has a track record of winning football at the high school level. Beginning with Coach Rewis, Fairview football has come a long way. The middle school coach should begin as an assistant (who will support the head coach and program) before becoming a head coach. Reading the middle school coach is a leading candidate which if true, does not give me great confidence in the people making the decision on the next coach. If Fairview is lucky they will get a coach like Rewis, Coach Mac, Coach Wright, or Coach Whitefield to step in. We have come to far to step back and experiment with untested coaches. Someone earlier asked about Coach Whitefield, I am pretty sure he will be OK. Can you tell I am trying very hard to not include a lot of invective about this entire issue. This is something that did not have to occur and should not have occurred.
  17. I truly do not understand posts which make no sense. We keep a coach another year and then decide to let him go. Does not make any sense at all.... What occurred is simple. The principal and the coach were not in agreement on several points one of which appears to be related to hiring staff members. Based on the facts presented this was the biggest sticking point which lead to the resignation of the coach. These types of issues do occur and FVHS must move forward. To be-labor an old washed out issue does no one any good. If bloggers feel the need to continue negative posts of personal attacks that is their business. Based on all other blogger's posts the majority opinion is; it is disappointing this had to occur but best of luck to FVHS and Coach Whitefield. Go jackets.
  18. I am sorry this blog has deteriorated to this point. Fairview deserves better than the blogs regarding the issues of last year. If we recall, the person behind the problems has had some problems of his own recently. These problems have been far more serious than the allegations regarding Coach Whitefield. The issues brought up in this blog were investigated by the county, the county sports director, and the local police. Williamson County is not the type of school system which will tolerate the type of behavior alledged. The principal also would not keep the coach on if this behavior was substantiated. So a prudent determination could be made these allegations were without merit. The issue we have is related to the current high school coach resigning. Based on the information available in the paper no one is happy with the chain of events. I wish coach Whitefield the best of luck. He did a tremendous job stepping into the program. Last years team had a very tough schedule. Despite all that has occurred I hope Fairview can land a good coach. If we are even luckier coach Whitefield will be back on the field as an assistant coach. His defense this year was aggressive smart and hard hitting. One final comment. This years group of seniors are a class act. The went to class, practiced hard, and stayed focused on the games. Next years seniors will have big shoes to fill but I believe they can meet the challenge. Go jackets.
