  1. You do make a good point the majority of the better officials in high school basketball have played the sport to atleast a certain level. But you cant just blame the officials for losing a game for you. I dont think anyone can find an official at any level that would really want to just give the game to another team. But I would llike to say congratulations to AC and the manager from AC. Good luck to both teams throughout the tourney and hopefully bot teams will have plenty of games left.
  2. I know that they have faced back to back big time district losses to Scott and Catholic which took them from from first in the district to third. hopefully the mavs can get everything together since tourney is starting soon it would be a disappointment if they didn't make the region. So AC needs to come to play every time out now. I think their senior night is tonight and the regular season will be over for them. So they need to get the mentality that they are 0-0 because nothing really matters now that the season is completely over except for the tourney.
  3. That is very true kids do need to practice with the upper classmen so they can mature their playing styles. I think having the kids in the program with the older kids will help out alot. I also think that you can't base a whole lot off of a jv schedule because you got to think how many other schools have kids that will be playin in the varsity game that night that aren't playing in the jv game. But that is good news to know that some talent is coming up at ac in the next few years.
  4. THat is a very good point they both do know they are or well were going to get the best defenders from the other team and it is a TEAM sport. Thats one thing that makes this sport of basketball so great. And AC has had some players step up at some time or another whether it was scoring or it was just making plays on offense.
  5. Well you can't come across it like that...I have saw both these athletes play at sometime or another and I have saw that the big time players will step up and make the big time plays. Rorex stepped up last year many times and helped his team when he had to. He also matured alot more from his sophomore year and junior years. That helped his playing capability alot and helped him to understand when to do certain things. Walden was also a great player at Catholic. He also stepped up in some big games. I just think that the best improvement on a maturity lever with a turnover to assist ratio would prob go to Rorex. I think if you ask any coach in high school basketball what kind of player they would rather have a kid that can drop 25(with 6-8 turnovers) like you said or a kid that will come out and get you a solid 15 double teamed or not and maybe with about 3 or 4 turnovers at most a game. I think most coaches would go with the player that would be gettin it done with protecting the ball. I don't want to go against either player, but I think Rorex has showed great improvement from his sophomore to junior year can't say much about his senior year due to not being able to attend many games.
  6. Insideout, YOu make some good points with both of these kids that have been playing since their freshman year they both have showed the positive and negative sides of their games. I think that it is expected for some high school athletes to show a little selfishness but its only something that will go away when they realize it. But AC might have played better last night when they weren't in but I don't know I wasn't there to make that call. I think Coach Wallace might just be trying to get these two athletes to understand what they have to do to have a complete team. I think that with these two out on the bench that AC can't have the greatest team on the floor representing their school. But I hope things get to where it takeks 5 men up at AC to win
  7. Well you can't really say that AC has owned Catholic considering what all has happened in the past few years between these two teams. There have been some close games by both teams and there have been some blowouts by both teams but there have been many great games between these two teams. And you can't really point Rorex out on that saying that his record would be better than 3-6. It does take 5 players on the court at the same time because I don't believe either one of these teams have been beating by one individual player. But I do give Catholic some respect that have had some good teams over the past 3 or 4 seasons since joining this district but it will be an interesting district tourney i guess...
  8. Well with what I heard from the AC Clinton game tonight...AC is struggling a little bit but hopefully they keep pace in the district because that is what matters right now. Good Luck to the Mavs on Friday
  9. Heard it was a 15 point game but didn't hear much. Most people were shocked that it was a 15 point game from what I heard but i don't know I wasn't there anyone with any insight to the game?
  10. AC did get the best of Stone in the first matchup at AC when Price came out hot. AC will have to get someone going earlier playing at Stone this time too. Stone is a very different place to play compared to most gyms that high school athletes are use to playing in. The gym is much larger and causes most high school players trouble shooting the ball. But I think that this game could be a great one if it turns out like the previous AC vs. Stone games in Crossville. Hopefully AC comes away with this one and keeps the perfect record in the district going.
  11. I would like to see the Mavs stay perfect through the regular season in the district so that they can lock up that automatic bid to the region. But what really matters is getting those wins in the tourney. Nobody will remember who got beat in the first or second round of the region but they will remember who plays in the championship game and plays in sub state. Another thing the mavs really need to focus on right now is playing one game at a time and not looking forward to post season just yet. They will need to play as a team and not as individuals but guess everyone will see how the game turns out against clinton tonight.
  12. Yes, you are right I shouldn't have just labeled AC in the picture of not being able to make it past the first or second round of the region. It is the entire district that can't make it past the second round. But i know that it is very tough but teams like AC and Catholic and now with Stone in there should be able to make a little bit of noise in the region tourney. But i apologize for just pointng out AC like that.
  13. Tonight will be a big game for AC to test the maturity level and to see if they understand that they have a game to play tonight that they aren't suppose to lose. Clinton is a hard place to play but a win tonight against the dragons could maybe give this AC team the right jumpstart to getting them going here late in the season. I have heard from a few AC fans that the game at AC should have been won by the Mavs but they just couldn't pull themselves together so at tonights game you will see if the boys from Anderson County have grown up since December. Hopefully they play together and not as individuals like insideout has already said. If they play as a team instead of indviduals then I take AC big in the rivalry game tonight.
  14. AC has been notorious for only getting one or two region tourney games every year and the same teams putting them out ik for the past 4 years it was Alcoa and Austin East being the teams that kept AC was from advancing on but I would like to see this AC team mature over the rest of this season and make it past this part of the post season. And I do think that Insideout is making a great point by saying that Walden did make Catholic alot better in the past few years. I would also say that from looking at the AC team from a coaching standpoint it has a pretty good staff. The staff out at AC has made some good strides in the past few years but I would also say that they have made some bad moves too. But looking at it from that point everyone will make mistakes but I would like to see how far this AC team can go considering they are moving up next year.
