  1. Cookeville 5 - White County 1 Pretty uninspired performance from CHS. Tomorrow at Tullahoma.
  2. Cookeville 3 - Livingston Academy 1
  3. Cookeville 8 - Warren County 4 Was 6-0 at 55 minutes when Cookeville pulled their first string. Sloppy last 25 minutes.
  4. Coffee County Playday was on Saturday. Teams in attendance were Coffee County, Cookeville, Fairview, Franklin County, Shelbyville, and Warren County. Some scores: Cookeville 0 - Shelbyville 0 Cookeville 1 - Franklin County 0 Cookeville 2 - Fairview 0 Cookeville 3 - Warren County 0 Shelbyville 3 - Warren County 1 Warren County 1 - Fairview 0
  5. Roger Ucles and Connor Peters, both from Cookeville, will be continuing their soccer careers at Milligan College.
  6. I find it interesting how folks are dogging Cleveland's schedule. Sure, they're not in districts 4 or 11, but you can't really help that. It's also a strange year in that Ooltewah, Baylor, and McMinn County all had losing records (but all three teams were better than their record indicated). Oak Ridge, Cookeville, Dalton, Science Hill, Christian Brothers, Independence, Lenoir City, and Bearden were all quality sides that Cleveland either beat or tied. Hardly a weak schedule.
  7. District 7-AAA Patrick Compton - Riverdale David Pleitez - Riverdale Ryan Zeeck - Blackman Toks Sokoya - Siegel Roger Ucles - Cookeville Steve Karstensen - Oakland
  8. I'll be there Saturday for sure, the other days depending on finances. Dunno if the other person who posts from this account will be. Will be wearing either an Arsenal away jersey or a Cookeville soccer shirt, depending on the laundry situation!
  9. Is there a full-fling pass for the soccer events? That will largely determine as to whether or not I come up for one day or all three days.
  10. Riverdale should win handily.

Bearden did a couple years ago, I believe.

Riverdale played awfully well last night, and they capitalized on their chances when they received a fortuitous bounce of the ball. They can go a long way. Cookeville had a good season, and the Cookeville kids have a lot to be proud of. They never gave up at any point, and they exercised good sportsmanship throughout the entire season. Cookeville players were shown a yellow card only 3 times all season (no reds, either). We'll miss the rivalries with the redisctricting, but we sure won't miss having to travel to Murfreesboro 3-5 times per season. Good luck to Riverdale and Siegel the rest of the way!

    Two yellows = soft red.

In high school, you can substitute for the suspended player on a soft red.

I still don't think this is accurate. What was the shot count of the Blackman-Oakland game? And a tie against Cookeville is not a bad result. Put Blackman and Cookeville against any other 4th or 5th seed in the state and they would probably win handily (obvious exceptions being districts 4-AAA and 11-AAA, but those would still be very good games).

Well if Tues-Thurs the case, the extra day's rest isn't really that important. Elimination games on consecutive days, however...

Blackman certainly is not a weak team. Also, shouldn't Riverdale postpone their match 'til tomorrow as well? This gives them the luxury of an extra day's rest. I'm sure the winner of the Cookeville/Blackman match wouldn't mind having that extra day's rest as well...
  18. District 7-AAA has had 3 different teams at state in the past 3 years (Blackman, Cookeville, and Riverdale). Although I could be incorrect, I don't think any other district in the state can make that claim.
  19. Riverdale went undefeated in district 7-AAA, which perennially is one of the tougher districts in the state.

I guess I was a bit pre-emptive in posting that. I didn't realize that two teams still had two matches left, and I thought Siegel and Riverdale had already played, for some reason. My mistake.

I think spots 1-6 are set, even though there are games yet to be played. 1. Riverdale 2. Blackman 3. Siegel 4. Oakland 5. Cookeville 6. Lebanon Winner of White County and Warren County takes 7th.

Probably not, but he and the German kid would have helped. Siegel 3 - Cookeville 0

I'd have to say that Patrick won the matchup. Roger was invisible for much of the second half. As for the PKs, they were both clumsy challenges. First one was pretty unlucky for Riverdale, as the Cookeville player had his back to the goal and was going away from the goal. Not really a goal-scoring opportunity, but that's how it goes sometimes. The second one, although it appeared to be completely unintentional, easily could have been a card, as the Cookeville forward was clear to goal. Riverdale was very good. They played very fluid soccer, and they love that give-and-go.

Cookeville 2 - Chattanooga Christian 2 Interesting game. 3 of the 4 goals came as the result of questionable officitiating (including 2 penalty kicks). Cookeville equalized in the last minute of the game after pushing everyone up for a corner. CCS had more of the run of play in the first half, and the second half Cookeville did more of the pressing. Pretty good game all around.
