Donny is an excellent coach, and I wish him well. He's a great friend of mine, but he made a grown up decision, and I respect him for that. Family is first, then baseball, I get that. I think that his players can look at that decision and learn from it. Whoever gets Donny Jones as a coach is a lucky program!

Playing on a team's short porch is frustrating when the field that is your home field is monsterous compared to the one you are playing on. It's is most certainly home field advantage, because pitchers can make mistakes at a big park and still live to pitch another pitch. That's the beauty of baseball, not every field is the same (unlike every other sport in America). As a coach myself, it is very very frustrating though, I understand CW's coaches frustrations. I haven't seen Camden play, ever, but it sounds like they swing the sticks when at home. Good luck to all teams in this district. I said it once, and I'll say it again, Montgomery Central is a notorious great tournament team in this district. I do not miss playing them in the District Tourney. They always seem to win, no matter the talent level. Dunn does a great job over there.

District Play-In games last night went as follows. Macon hosted Greenbrier and Macon won 2-1. White House hosted Westmoreland and White House won 11-1. The tournament shakes out like this, with Sycamore hosting at their place in Pleasant View, TN. Seeding and Regular Season Records 1) Sycamore (9-1) 2) Goodpasture (8-2) 3) White House (5-5) 4) Macon County (4-6) Higher seed should be home throughout, I think. Monday 4:30 Goodpasture vs White House 7:00 Sycamore vs Macon County Tuesday 4:30 L1 vs L2 7:00 W1 vs W2 Wednesday 4:30 W3 vs L4 in between games the All-District team is announced 7:00 W5 vs Unbeaten team Thursday is the if necessary game scheduled for 6:00, if I was told right. Should be a great tourney, who knows who will win. My prediction is Sycamore and Goodpasture move along in any order.

Greenbrier loses to Macon. This district is unpredictable, anything can happen come tourney time.
