  1. Congrats to Siegel and Oakland. Hopefully the weather will hold for the next couple of days. Go Stars!
  2. My two cents. First off, congrats to Blackman for winning two in a row against Siegel but both games were close and the Siegel bats have been flatter than a pancake. I know Sisco and Bowers didn't do much at the plate and maybe that makes things even, I don't know. What I do know is that Siegel can hit, the guys have done it before both last year during the high school season and also over the summer. Don't know why we're struggling now but good hitters will hit and it's just a matter of time IMO. I just want the guys to get healthy and the bats to come around and I think both will happen before to much longer. Last nights game against the MO team was encouraging and it was pretty cool to have an NFL head coach in the house. Blackman got us early when we weren't at our best but I feel like when both teams bring their A game we as fans would have a heck of a ballgame to watch. Good luck to all and I'm sure Siegel and Blackman will get after it again at some point this year.

Na, man, coach Reavis is just trying to get the best nine on the field. Once Shafer is back in RF everything will return to normal I would guess.

What's interesting is that if Siegel can win the close games and come from behind like they did last night, once the players gel and get accustomed to unfamiliar positions and the bats get hot, could be fun to watch.
  5. Good pitching neutralizes good hitting. Props go out to Carter Watson and Cody Barrett. Siegel and Oakland will hit plenty this year but last night was a Watson and Barrett showcase. Coach Reavis has many weapons in his arsenal and we'll see what happens with the lineup. Great job by Shaffer finding a way to get on and Robinson driving him in to tie the game. Great job by Schloss getting that bunt down and beating the throw, Pearson getting a big hit, and Mr. clutch Brady Dove driving in the winning run. Go Stars!
  6. The season starts tonight and the weather is fine. District play is back. Gotta love it. Go Stars!!!
  7. After what I saw yesterday I can't even begin to imagine how the lineup will go against oakland. Coach reavis will git-r-done.
  8. Heres what ya do. Pitch around shaffer, robinson, and schloss, then kosinski will hit one over the road. Pick your poison.
  9. Now that's an interesting lineup. I like what coach is doing here with robinson at 3rd and pearson in LF. Good to see prather back in there. What do you think coach will do against oakland?
  10. Did coach reavis have the same lineup at the Lavergne game?
  11. Hey dousedablaze, your entitled to your opinion and so am I. I never dissed any of the players or coach reavis, just suggested that Siegel field it's best nine players, shouldn't be anything wrong with that. You've managed to point your finger at three players through your not so subtle discriptions that leave little to the imagination. Doesn't any coach want there best lineup in there at this level? As for pt, mine won't play varsity ball for another year or two so it doesnt matter. And another thing, I never suggested what the lineup should be, I'll leave that up to the coaches. Lighten up man.
  12. Siegel needs their best hitters and position players in the lineup and in the right spots. The two best offensive and defensive players are currently sitting. In my opinion there are infielders that need to be in the outfield and outfielders that should not be in the lineup. Kosinski is a bonus so far with his home run production and we should be taking advantage of that. We need a dominant closer and hopefully Robinson can help us there soon. Siegel just needs to get healthy and put the best nine players on the field period. It's also the second game of the season and things will get better.
  13. 7AAA take note. There is another weapon in the Siegel lineup and his name is David Kosinski. He hit two home runs today against Columbia. A three run shot and a grand slam.

I'm no coach but I would sacrifice defense for offense until whatevers going on gets fixed. Keep the big dogs swinging so their timing is sharp.

Man, I don't know. Thats why coach gets paid the big bucks. Here's my take on your first 5. Fullerton/Dove/Shaffer/Robinson/Schloss. After that I don't know. Top 5 sounds pretty good don't it?

Gotta have your two best hitters in the lineup. I heard Robinson is throwing well and Shaffers arm should be fine in about three weeks. Can't DH both of them and they can both swat. Its a no brainer to put Robinson in the field somewhere and DH Shaffer. Robinson is a good athlete and can probably play any position. Who ya gonna sacrifice thats the question.

The bats are coming around and the pitching was solid. There were some bombs hit in practice tonight.
  18. I think once Siegel gets their lineup sorted out and the bats come around they will be right in the thick of things. I heard Schloss and Shaffer are mashing the ball.

Who's doing well in practice? Anyone starting to stand out?
  20. Jealousy would be my guess. All the Summer teams in Georgia probably hate the top East Cobb team too. I think it's natural to be a little cocky when you're successful regardless of what sport you play. Tiger Woods in golf, Nadal or Federer in tennis, the Patroits or Gators in football, any sport where you dominate. Everyone else wants to be like them...want some of that magic.
  21. I heard Siegel had a good practice tonight. Looking forward to Saturdays scrimmage. Hopefully it will warm up.

    HOME RUNS

Siegel should hit quite a few this year but I won't guess how many. There are so many guys that are capable of hitting homeruns in our lineup it could be a big year for the long ball.

Here's one for you. If Shafers arm is still hurting who do you DH for the season opener? Robinson or Shafer? Can you find a way to get both of their bats in the line up? These are the two leading hitters returning from last year and both hit 5 home runs each.

If Reavis moves Fulerton to the outfield it will have to be centerfield I would guess. Shafer has two years experience in right and you have to have his bat in the lineup. Moore should return to freshman form soon. With Fulertons speed center field would be the best fit but I don't know if coach is working him in the outfield. Both of the practices I've seen he was at short and thats where he played in the scrimmage. Duvall and Taylor are good players too. What do you do when you have 11 or 12 guys that can make a difference but only 9 places to put them.
