  1. We got 5 turnovers from Sweetwater....2 fumbles and 3 INT's....ball was on the ground a few other times.....44 is a load to bring down.....QB was overthrowing his recievers....Greenback should be able to run the ball at will and the Kees will win by at least 3 TD's....good luck
  2. I can agree with that....depending on the outcome of the Oneida vs Coalfield game
  3. Congratulations to the Cherokee Nation on the win last night....fine looking group of kids.....hopefully we can learn something from this and improve this week as we have to go to Kingston....Good luck the rest of the way....except if we go on a good run and need you to lose a couple of district games
  4. Harriman is just to strong and deep and NEEDS a big win after losing to Kingston.....and they should get it
  5. The more i read what you guy's say about GB....the more i think the 2 teams are mirror images of each other...thus game could be a slugfest....hoping to see a good injury free game
  6. Is the wrestling coach still the football coach??
  7. I think that was his point...that neither team has been tested.....Sweetwater gave us 5 turnovers....they had more size than us,but we were the more physical team....tho i think we slacked up after getting a 13-0 lead....rotated in a lot of youngin's.....i'm looking at GB as our first real test to see where we are
  8. Congrad's on those first 2 big wins.....looks like you guy's have turned things around from last year.....looking forward to this game because i have some of the same questions about our team as you have about yours....we lost 3 linemen off last years team....it's early and we have some work to do like most everybody else.....but i like what i've seen so far.....should be a darn good game
  9. How much detail do you want??....The starting Defense and running game was awesome...still need some work on pass protection on long pass plays....Deardorff and Smith didn't play for most of the 2nd half and Webster was hurt....several youngin's played and the future is bright To be worked on.....complaintency(sp?)....after easily going up 13-0 on the first 2 drives.....didn't score again till the 3rd qtr
  10. Rockwood 23 Sweetwater 0 Darn fine job boys!!!
  11. Doubt we see the blow-out like we saw last year.....but i like the effort i've seen out of the team lately....i'll be happy with 4 qtrs. of solid effort and a 2 TD win
  12. Basically.......fund raising......a glorified scrimmage......however with a quality opponent like Oneida, I do feel a bit better about where our team stands right now....hope everyone had a safe and pleasant trip home........and i REALLY want to see you guys again somewhere down the line this year.....best of luck to ya'll this season
  13. Interesting......Just how does a school in Loudon County "pick up" a QB from Blount County and some linemen from "another school"??
  14. I didn't make it.....heard Rockwood won it 4-1....for what it's worth...we'll know more next week.....3 way scrimmage @ Rockwood with Pigeon Forge and Scott Co. Thursday
  15. Jolley will be the QB....Webster is working with the Receivers ...Deardorff is the only returning RB....the other wing should be Colin Smith with Ethan Headrick at FB...we do have some work to do on the line.....the Defense looks to be pretty stout again this year.....it's still early so who knows how it's going to work out.....have a scrimmage with Meigs Co.soon
  16. Depends on your interpretation of Title IX....and as i see it, it shouldn't apply to High School.....and if it dose, just open it up to girls also....South Doyle has had a few girls on the wrestling team....in Roane County the wrestling team is based in Kingston....the co-op was with Harriman but was changed to Rockwood...the team is entirely self funded and gets no money from the school or school board....It's driven by the coach (who volunteers all his time and efforts)...and the parents....I think all you need is someone like that coach and someone from the school to "sponsor" the team (check TSSAA rules)
  17. Thanks....tho i just wanted to know why you thought Rockwood would drop to 5-5.....I can agree with most of what you posted with a few exceptions......Harriman should have beat Kingston the last 2 years....this year you get it done....Rockwood is not going to be as down as you think....i think 7-3 at worst....I'm not sure Tellico will be as good ....they took some big hits to graduation also......Kingston's district is just to tough......I think your dead on about Midway.....I like OS's chances to win district 4...thats it in a nutshell
  18. Care to break this down for me.....cause i don't see it
  19. Later that day as the coach was walking down the hallway the secretary stopped him. She said that a lady had just walked in and wrote a check for the kids debt and remaining HS education. The kid was allowed to stay and participate in varsity sports for the remainder of his HS career. Sorry for the long story, but I had to tell it to ask my question. Would this kind of financial aid be considered recruiting if the school was in a public league? Tell me what you think, im curious to see what anti-privates say to this. BTW I was a volunteer assistant coach for the school which couldn't afford to pay for more than one coach. (God has been kicked out of schools, government, homes, and even some churches; but he will never let those who love him fall from his grace and blessings. I don't know about y'all, but I'd like for a God like that to be put back into the things I mentioned above.) The long story is ok....it set the background for the question......Recruiting.....no......Improper benefits.....yes.....as with the recent case at GCA.......I don't think the word "recruiting" was ever used in handing down punishment........and the solution would be simple.........just don't play sports if the Christian education is the primary reason for attending the school.......as for the rest of the post.......we could debate forever but this a football forum and simply not the place
  20. I look at your schedule and see at the VERY least 3 losses. AND thats not the BAD news! The bad news is that your schedule is weak as water. You MIGHT win 1 game in the playoffs and then will get ran off the field in the second round. Be realistic there is absolutely no way yall beat Oneida. OS and Wartburg will both beat you. I don't know anything about whitwell. Kings Academy is good enough to beat you on a good night for them. I'm all about confidence , but face it you guys arent that good yet. Another thing even if you did win 10 games look at that schedule tell me who you would have beat besides Oneida , that would be considered even an average team? OS should be pretty good this year.....don't be shocked if they beat Oneida.......both will beat Sunbright
  21. I know what your saying........and pretty much agree with you........for now anyway......i think we have some good backs......the 3 linemen we lost concerns me more
  22. QB is not suspended for football, TSSAA rule it will carry over to baseball, however long he is suspended for it will be in baseball not football. student-athlete is also suspended from all levels of participation (varsity, junior varsity, freshman) the same number of contest(s) in the sport involved. If the student-athlete is a senior and cannot fulfill all of the disciplinary action due to the completion of the season, he/she will fulfill the action in the next sport in which they participate. This is from TSSAA's rule book, he wasn't a senior because Harriman didn't have any seniors. So therefore he can complete his suspension next baseball season. Didn't a kid from Grace miss the first football game this year because of a suspension in basketball his jr. year??.......i don't follow baseball, but i was wondering why is running over a catcher shielding home plate a suspension anyway?? I honestly don't know why this rule was put into place other than to protect the catcher, I could understand if a runner just intentionally trucked the catcher, but don't quite understand ejections when its sliding into the plate or diving, plays at the plate like that are part of baseball, I like TSSAA is trying to protect its players, but this rule could go either way I guess. But i'm pretty sure he won't be suspended from the 1st football game, it'll just take place in baseball, i'm almost sure of it but I could be wrong. I agree with you on that............Talked to a friend today who's kid plays for Harriman.........told me TSSAA has already said the suspension will be the first baseball game
