  1. Never questioned their talent. Very talented. But we all know in that district at least 1 probably 2 teams will not make the playoffs that could be at the top of district 4. With the new pitch count rules....district tournaments will be very tricky to advance through playing that many games in that many days. Often in baseball, it's not always the most talented teams that advance. It is about whoever gets hot at the right time. In 3A that could be several teams. 1 very good team and 1 pretty solid team are gonna be left without a chair when the music stops. Both of which could compete very well with whomever advances from 4A
  2. Grace--yes--track record to prove it. Greenback??--Pump the brakes--Very talented.......But have only advanced to play-offs once in 10 years. Even then, they were knocked out in first round of Region. They need to do way more than that to say they are one of the best teams in the Eastern side of the state. Gotta show up in May.......Scrimmages in March don't mean a thing.

    District 3A

Top 4 in 3A would cake walk through that Mickey Mouse District. Coalfield only won 2 games against opponents outside their district(Northview Academy) Strike Out 13 or 14???.......Come on now..........Time to leave the Morgan County bubble and experience real baseball.

    District 3A

NOBODY from District 4A will advance anywhere this year. Number 3 or 4 seed in 3A could easily go undefeated in District 4A. Grace can go ahead and book rooms at the Boro. Meigs County will prolly have to go on the road to Unaka next Friday for a shot at making a trip. Trust me......District 4 teams will not be a factor this post season.

    District 3A

Not a walk off steal when the RW catcher threw it into LF

    District 3A

No. Winners Bracket winner gets a bye to the District Championship game. Winner of GB/Rockwood will face the loser of Meigs/Grace in a losers bracket final tomorrow,

    District 3A

Greenback lost to Meigs yesterday 3-2. They were down 3-0 from the 1st inning on......Then capitalized on a Meigs error and a key hit to mount a comeback in the 7th. But just came up short. Rockwood got drilled by Grace 15-2. Played bad. Threw young kids. Saved better arms for today. Today is scheduled as Rockwood v. Greenback 5:30--Losers Bracket Meigs v. Grace 7:30--Winners Bracket Final
  8. I would also like to add the fact that they have been competive in basketball and baseball the past few years but still come up short in football. Are the same kids playing football, or are they not sharing athletes well??? I realize that the two other sports do not always translate to success on the football field, but there is sometimes a correlation.
  9. fury: It goes a little deeper than that. I'm not sure you understand all the parameters of the situation. But then again most outsiders don't.
  10. Kind of limiting themselves right off the bat. Not many baseball guys with chemistry, culinary arts, or library certifications???
  11. My thoughts exactly. The guy that takes this job better be careful. Fired a great guy 3 years ago. Not sure about the most recent coach, but talent pool is thin, and they are moving to AAA next year. Good luck getting a guy with proven success to stick his neck out for that.
  12. So how do the CAK folks feel about Coach McKamey(GCA Head Coach) being on the Stone Memorial sideline???
  13. Rockwood will have to play similar to last Thursday in order to win.....minus the turnovers. Pound the ball inside, and control the clock. On Defense, have to keep Brody Roberts in check......as they did with the McKamey kid last week. Stop Roberts, and I believe you stop Kingston. Kingston has yet to play a team with a pulse, so maybe if RW can punch em in the mouth, they might make some mistakes. Too early to make a prediction.
