I don't think there is any way to find which officials are on probation (correct me if i am wrong BigG). You are very right about the governing body of officials, it needs an overhaul but there is nobody willing to touch that with a 10 foot pole. They are walking in to games knowing there is no person that can get them in trouble since the rules say..."the officials decisions are binding". So good luck with gettting anything changed. We are all screwed.

I am sorry but I think you are talking about the wrong thing here. It did get personal but it was nothing that caused injury to anyone. I think you are way off on this one.

I can not believe this. My topic was closed because some of you igmos starting to bash on people on here. I am so ticked. I have never before had one of my topics closed like that. You guys that wrote all these stuff are messed up.

I thought all that mess was dropped. He is teaching now so there was no way to get away from a background check now days. What do you think about him as a coach though. Can he bring back a program like ours to the glory days or what?

He is just Rotten Eggs...you are very right the officials are there for the safety of the players and when they decide not to show up no matter of win, loss or tie it is not right. TSSAA should ban those refs from officiating ever again.

I was told by a trusted coach in our school that Dakass was here interviewing for a possible return to Rutherford Co. to coach once again. From my understanding he is missing soccer and is moving back to the area but he has burned some bridges at Smyrna so he was rejected there by administration. He is still certified to teach in a subject that there is a need so it might happen as soon as girls season next year. Anyone heard anything similar or knows anything like that?

I won't count on him not coming back. I talked to one of the coaches and he did tell me that he was here 2-3 weeks ago and interviewed for the Oakland soccer job but it is supposed to be hash-hash. I am serious about that and I will start another thread for that but back to the point and this thread, it is very difficult to compete with all these schools here in Rutherford Co. It is watering down the sports in the schools and it is killing us. Think if we had 1 or 2 HS in the Rutherford Co. There is nobody in the entire state that could compete with us. Of course the problem would be the competition would be so great and some poor kids will not be on the team. Oh well who cares, lol. Gonyea is a great wrestling coach but like you said he is not a soccer coach and then parlow is not into HS because the money is not there I am sure. Davis is ok but I think a little old for the HS thing. I don't know, my select coach is telling me to stop playing HS anyway, I might just do that after this year. My parents will be upset but they are a little upset with our progress as a team anyway.

You know I remember that coach briefly. I was a little younger when he was there. My brother hated him then because of a blow-out win by Smyrna. I belive they scored in less than 10 seconds on a set kick-off play against Oakland in that game. I did read several things about him before on here but not sure what happened all together. Anyway...the point here is that soccer is not looked very highly on either schools and that worries me. You guys have a wrestling coach and we have an ex ref coaching us. What gives? How do we get the program but to being the power houses they once were? At one point I heard that dakass was coming to Oakland to coach us and my brother was actually very happy because he said that was a good move. I will try to find out more about that from another coach that knows more about the coaching situations.

That is too bad for the game to have such of officials that are not concern about the safety of the players or the time of nearly 200 people than themselves. By the way, what was the score?

Yes Eric did play for Oakland a while back. He was a part of some imazing teams that came out of the Oakland. I do agree it is the whole "Siegel" thing but if we had some stability and a good coach to make the commitment while the players were doing that also the program should be able to see winning days once again. As of Smyrna, I used to really despise their program because they were cocky and good at the same time, now I feel sorry for them. You are right, no select soccer, no commitment from coaches and players, but no comitment from administration either. I would like to know some of the players feelings on those programs also. I do understand that coach dakass is a shore subject with smyrna but I thought that was a girl's team thing not with the boys, or is it both?

Those are pretty strong statements coming from you Rotten Egg. The ref did not have to start the game at all if there were concerns about weather related issues but he wanted to so he can collect the check. The coaches and possibly the game administrator should have not allowed this to happen. All the power is given to the game administrator before the game. If I was the GA I would have refused to let the ref start the game all alone and definately not if there were weather issues. Of course I am not so your GA made his best and of course failed to watch out for your safety of all things. It is UNSAFE to play a game with one official no matter who the 2 teams are. Do you also realize that the game assignor makes a lot of money not to make mistakes like that. The fee for each school is ungodly. Lets just say for an example the ref assignor charges $100 per team to assign officials and his district has 75 teams that comes out to $7,500 and he did not even do anything yet. So mistakes should not be an option for that kind of money. Anyway...don't be so harsh on cchssoccer, because the mistakes were made by your school officials not his / her school. And before you come back with agree statements about me...I am not even in your district, I am in Middle TN.

Riverdale lost to Wilson Central 2-1 last night.

I am not sure which of the two teams is going down faster. Last night smyrna lost 6-0 to Brentwood ( a team that can go long way in my opinion ) and Oakland lost once again to Cookeville 4-0. That is 5 loses so far this season to a program that used to be one of the best in the state. Smyrna has 3 or 4 loses (not sure exactly) and they had made it to state about 5 years ago? What has happened to those two teams? I know Middle TN has a lot of talent spread out but losing to Wilson Central (Smyrna and recently Riverdale, probably because of goalie situation) and Coffee County (Oakland) is unheard off for those two proud teams. What is your view on this? And by the way do not give me the story every team goes through a bad period because that is an excuse. Brentwoods, Hendersonvilles, BGAs etc don't.

I do not think your coach will win his case with TSSAA. They do not care about any statements. He will be "branded" for the rest of his career for standing up to this pathetic excuse of an official. Another thing is like BigG said in another post about a bad official your team might see him again and again during the regular season. That's when this official will vent towards the players and possibly the coach with bad calls. The flood gates have been open...Good Luck!

It is amazing that you would come on here and sign on trying to get people to talk good about your team by talking bad about your team. Yes you guys are getting better while the cross the street rivals are getting worse. Your coach has done a tremendous job there and he has worked hard. It is time to reap the benefits of his hard work but make no mistake...do not get cocky because that is when you will start to fail once again. Be humble and things will happen. Bottom line, you are good enough to make some noise this year but for pete's sake, do a better job in your english class.

So do the players and soccer need to pay for the lack of officials? I am sure they can recruit new refs if they try, we have several colleges in TN that have soccer teams. TSSAA could get involved and recruit those soccer players for their off season (boys season) with lucrative (spelling?) offers to get them involved instead of trying to get rich off HS sports. Just my opinion but it is TSSAA that needs to step up on this issue and market the game of soccer like the other sports like football.

My opinion on the 2 man system...it is NOT soccer at all. I agree it is dangerous for the players out there because there is no control from the refs unless they are top of the line officials. The only schools that get 3 men are the big soccer schools like Brentwood, Bearden, Farragut, Baylor, etc. Nobody including TSSAA cares for the small schools like Cleveland, Cumberland, Cookeville, Riverdale, Shelbyville, Wilson Central, White House, White Station, Covington, etc. Until TSSAA takes it seriously that they need to improve their refs and hold them responsible for their actions, it will always be a poor showing by them. Why do they need to improve when they can just "wing it"?

Where did you play at? What school do you play for? The issue here is as usual TSSAA has NO handle on officials in TN at all. To their defense though a lot of them are doing it just to help out for the sortage we are having with refs since a lot of them do not want to be screamed on from coaches, parents and players. They had enough of that but still that is not an excuse. I still hold TSSAA responsible for not penalizing the refs for being late, and for poor performance in games. If there was a system in place refs would think twice about trying to "beat" the system. Just my thoughts on that subject, of course BigG will probably delete my response since he does not like any of my comments...

I won't be too happy for beating Smyrna, they got nothing again this year. They can beat the weak teams but that is it. No way they can beat the good teams and I predict they will lose to some teams for first time ever this year.

Isn't this year an optional year for you anyway? You have nothing to show this year!!
