wow three district games in three days and dyer county is off monday and tuesday in district...dyersburg is at a severe disadvantage..

scrimmages mean absolutely nothing... 4 or 5 pitchers throw an inning or two and you do not have your full lineup in the entire game... get ready for heart ache in region my friend.. if you get there...

one pitcher can get you to state if you get out of district... he can pitch region semis on monday and substate game on friday.. I heard about all of this loaded with talent stuff last year and you saw the end results in region...

usj and covington will both be in state and are a level above anybody in district 13... I have seen usj, covington, dyer, and dyersburg play; usj and covington are men among boys...

it doesnt matter both teams will lose to usj or covington in region...

I know its a little less than a week away but what will the outcome be of the dc/dyersburg district series? I say they split or dyer co. sweeps

I am not discrediting him as a coach because I think he is top ten or top 5 in west tennessee. I know he turned you guys around but you also have to look at the number of students you have.. You have a lot more kids to choose from where gibson,westview, crockett, and milan have at least 200 less students to pick from. Dyer county should be good in 2A every year considering that dyersburg is really the only other "above average" team in the district.. I just think dyer county is a level below the elite 2A teams in tennessee on a yearly basis(usj, lexington, david lipscomb, etc.) but dont get me wrong dc is a good ball club but not ungodly. You put them in the dustrict with bolivar, lexington, and southside last year dc would have not gone to region.

I like the confidence but you might be singing a different tune this time next year in AAA and i would not be surprised if ozmen bolts too. and who cares if they won a travel state championship cause Im sure not all of them go to dyer county.. before the last couple of years Dyer county was not very good so until you are a lexington, usj, jcs, team that is proven in west tn for more than a couple of years shut up.... I think its hilarious how good Dyer County fans think they are when their enrollment is 3-4 hundred more students than most in the district in a weak district... I hope dyersburg puts yall back down to earth

You still have dyer county and dyersburg.. Good start but definitely a long way to go.. You will definitely be the underdogs in both games.

A high school kid can definitely learn the proper way to hit. The key is to simplify the process as much as you can. Most of the learning process is just repetition. Once they learn what the coach is trying to convey to them they just have to do it over and over and over again until their muscles memorize the swing; it may take a month or 3 years depending on the level of player. the two toughest things to get high school kids out of is having a jerky or tiltes head which makes them see the ball at a different perception; the other is opening up their front side and trying pull every single pitch. But back to they question, if you can just give them 4 or 5 steps to the swing and explain it to them on a 14-17 year old level it can definitely be taught.

the amazing thing is that westview only loses two seniors and one did not see the floor all year because she was hurt.... they will be back....book it.... and rechis and swaim both return... could be scary next year

This early in the season I would not let a high school kid throw more than 80 pitches and middle schooler less than that. Especially if it is below fifty degrees or so. One rule of thumb would be that if the pitcher starts to leave everything high because he is seperating his hands too late it might be time to come out because he is too tired for his arm to catch up with his body and fatigue can lead to injury or bad mechanics. 160 pitches is too many for a big leaguer

why did milan not get in the tomahawk classic and play quality teams instead of starting the season with gleason,dresden and trenton?I hope they do not have tough district games next week.
