  1. I will, but you still don't see the error in what you posted. Can't seem to get through to you. Have fun bashing 18 yr olds and their moms - real championship fan right there.
  2. Good point David - I remember taxpayer money going to Oakland for stands (was it $60,000?) for their baseball field for the Spring Fling. Now, you can't watch a Distrit game over there in those seats without paying a donation to the booster club to the tune of 100 bucks. How do we sign up for that deal?
  3. I've lived here for years and could care less the naming rights of roads. Your guy said the words and it is in print - I guess there needs to be better communication on what "dirty" means - ask a person in East TN, west TN or south TN and the comments seem to slant to #3. It is what it is. The reason why I didn't go to the game was LOCATION - your place. Your people complain they have no money but you have the only indoor facility for football in high school in middle TN. Before you go off on who funded the facility, I know that story first hand and have talked to the father/son who loaned the money for it - good for you. I try not to support your school for the reason that you and others at Oakland ooze out of your pores - an attitude that you are somehow better than me and you tend to look down your upturned nose at us. I agree we also have that lofted status thing at our school but your not talking to someone that feels they are above you. As for your last post - our team wouldn't play timid the second time - but again, your team would take over and dominate the second half. I look forward to the basketball matchups and the banter that, no doubt, will be on the boards. And then we have baseball after that...
  4. Keep it up, Pepperment Patty... Now we're down to name calling? This thread is done for me - too many english major wannabees telling me I can't spell or I have my pronounds mixed up or even worse, I don't know the history of Murfreesboro. It's went down hill and you need to focus on your next opponent - we need to find out how to play football. It has truly been fun to rile the Oakland faithful up! Please understand I'm just hacking on you - no hurt intended but I hope I've opened up some eyes on both sides to keep the pranks in good taste, even if Oakland didn't think of the prank first! There I go again...
  5. From dictionary - The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language - Dirty: 1) Soiled, as with dirt; grimy; unclean. 2) Obscene or scatological. 3) Contemptibly contrary to honor or rules. 4, 5 and 6 are off base - but this is English language and it still means what it did 20 plus years ago - playing dirty means breaking rules. Sorry, I don't speak nor acknowledge hip-hop or rap slang. No offence intended but just don't speak the language. Sorry. So, does your IB program allow this slang?
  6. 5) Call the DNJ to make a retraction of what was said - misquoted, no doubt. This sure was a hot thread - you couldn't get your reply out without some one comming right back at you within minutes. Where oh where have the little Pattys gone? Oh, where oh where could they be?
  7. Your welcome. "And being the dirtier team in this game is a good thing".
  8. Two questions - Where is basketball played - indoors on a wood floor or outdoors on an open field? Did a large portion of the students at Siegel do the powder thing with the soccer player? We've killed this horse so I'm letting it go. My point is that both schools have done some stupid things in the past and some on here think their school doesn't. Trying to show that but again, jokeland does no wrong. Oakland did dominate - no need for them to "be the dirtier team" - see DNJ article. Some win, others win with class. This will come back to haunt Oakland - I'd have it up on my locker room board if I was playing you guys this next week.
  9. OK, enough said - nope, I just read the DNJ article about the game. This discussion can be summed up in paragraph 5 on page two. Your admin sure can stop the chants/t-shirts but again, can't control their own. I'd rather loose playing fair than "being the dirtier team". Good thing? Bad name in the region? How will folks across the state react when one of the top teams admits to dirty play in a newspaper! Wait for it - here comes the damage control!!! 1) "Siegel was dirty first", 2) Them shirts did it", 3) "We owe it to them 'cause they's arrogant/rich/pompous", 4) "Its a rival school and it's OK"... shall I go on? Glad your proud of your team. Where are all the others that said they would call this out? "Oh Andy, this is BIG"...
  10. Good win tonight - did you think we really could stay with your guys? As for the t-shirts, I'm looking at one now and would wear it in front of any pastor in town. Nothing ugly, but it seems that the line again is drawn not in the middle but skewed to Jokelands side. Isn't it amazing that your admin can stop a high school kid from wearing a shirt from Siegel but it's ok for jokeland to bring theirs? First names were the issue right? We need permission to put it on a t-shirt? OK, then when do you and your kids ask for permission for the things being shouted at our players? It don't work that way Lonegone, oakland does what they want and then stops you from doing it because its tastless. Wow - you guys really have a reality check comming IF you get out of your safe haven on your side of town. Pompous? On our side of Memorial the road is called Haynes Drive, your side it changes to"Dejarnett". Pompous - you got it right there. And for the record, calling the other team garbage or telling the player by your failed cheering squad a jerk or that they suck isn't crossing the line when it's being done by you right? Good luck the rest of the year!
  11. For the record - I don't agree with the painting on the softball complex nor the powder either. I too thought give Oakland an "A" for ingenuity but a "F" for what the outcome would be. Come on - if you were there you would know what I'm talking about - the cloud was so thick you couldn't see. Good thought but as with all pranks - don't go overboard with it. As for the softball painting - "F" on both. Involve the TSSAA? Are you nuts - they control too much anyway! The kids were the ones that came up with this so yes, be critical and hold them (BOTH) accountable. The Siegel painters should have had to re-paint what they destroyed. And I am enjoying this and thanks for being a worthy opponent on this board.
  12. Hey, from my end the comments are sharp but not ment to do anything other than to stir the pot. We all work and live together and I would not be afraid for my kids to go to the other schools and compete. That's what sports are about and just because we gig each other with what may appear to be verbal abuse, it doesn't mean that we don't like each other. The best rivalrys will be cherished - I was best man to my high schools biggest rivals QB! And to the Patriot fans - have fun, and good luck. If Siegel can't bring home the gold ball they please let it be one of the Murfreesboro schools.
  13. You are the poster child for why I heckle the Pattys - you just don't get it do you. Powder on the floor - not just a little on one side but a full cloud that covered the gym and required the game to be delayed 20+ minutes - technical foul not called. Have you ever been in physics class? What happens to a hardwood floor when you put a layer of powder on it? Slick surface - same effect as a bowler putting talc on their shoes - used to make the player slide. Since basketball players need traction, this could cause knee and ankle issues for both teams. As for the T-shirts, I too heard this and have been told of what it will say - nothing classless about it and I'll be checking what my kids will be wearing. Only problem is Oakland wannabee's didn't think of it first so of course it is classless. Boo hoo...
  14. Didn't mean any disrespect to Patton - just don't know him but you're right - he's also a stud. I've seen Hunter workout and if you think he isn't a factor then you are in for a rude awakening Smyrna fans. He was a man at 14 with a kids age only. As for the Smyrna speed - you can't out run good prusuit angles and both Blaze linebackers can do that. Pray you make the corner before they fill from the inside or you will wake up in the stands with the band...
  15. Not bitter at all - just love to heckle the chosen ones - or so you think. As for Oakburg - is that any better than the seagulls? Nope, but you'll call down a Siegel fan instead of one of your own. Thats why we all love to dog you Patty's - it's OK for us (Oakland) to do wrong but don't let us catch you. Agree to get back on the topic - what was it anyway? Oh yeah - I'll always pull for Siegel but you all have too many horses. We'll hang with you until your studs wear us down in the 3rd quarter. After that - Katty bar the door! Good luck and I hope no one is hurt on either side. I hope we can give you a game.
  16. You got one on us that night for sure - but I still think the "O" squad or what ever you call yourselves should have had to clean it up or leave - one mans spray paint is anothers powder after all. Same results but accepted in this case I guess. Maybe your international brain trust can let the "normal" students in on what the outcome of 150 people throwing a handful of powder in the air will due to a gym floor. Big duh huh on that one...
  17. My prediction is if Hunter Thompson is healthy and in the game - PAIN! The Smyrna running backs had better get comfortable on the ground because that's where they will be all night... Prediction - Blackman 14, Smyrna 10. Defense wins championships.
  18. What? Did they do too many back flips into your assigned space? Mommy didn't like that so she called the school right? Wah, wah, wah... Siegel always is the starter of all the issues - or the ones Oakburg wants to discuss. Both sides have been in on the stupid stuff - you just have the last blooper until the next one happens. Oh yeah - no one was punished on that one (powder puff - how fitting) either - the two technical fouls could have made a difference. But that's OK since it went the Patty's way...
  19. Like Oakland's attempt to be cute and throw powder at the Siegel basketball game? Priceless
  20. JR babe Ruth - 3 yrs ago the seniors won the SE Region in Florida didn't they? Runner up the next year? They have won district, and state - how about the sophmores? Your team this summer got where they are due to hosting the regional or they wouldn't be playing. As for the college bound kids - Watkins, Cashin, Chapman all took offers and Clark and Duval had offers and turned them down. As for the rings you don't have, would you please go see one of the above mentioned seniors and ask them to see the ring - I'm sure they can show you.
  21. Don't know if the correct call was made or not - my problem is that they wouldn't be in that spot if they would have played the Seniors. If the Soph were better, then I'm ok with that but they were not. How many world series rings do the sophmores have compaired to the seniors? How did the sophmores do in the South East Regional held at Lewisburg - the one that the senior led team won last year? I heard the coach who wouldn't play the seniors was calling them to playthis summer - sounds like when you want to win, then put in the ones that can - should have been done in the first place. Again, it's a shame that kids that will play in college didn't play their senior year in high school. Sounds to me that MC coaches got what they deserved. Stop playing your kids when others are better! You wanna win - play the ones that know how to get it done. After all, your kids would probably have a state tournament appearence and maybe a championship if you would have LET THE SENIORS PLAY!
  22. Well, that's not what my contacts at Lewisburg are telling me. I was told that the coaches kids were played over the returning seniors that had led the team the previous years. The "Super Sophmores" had error after error and were not pulled - they just wern't ready for that level yet. Anyway, a lot of Seniors were let down by the coaches and their kids their last year of ball due to wanting to get them playing time. Marshall Co could have won district and went further maybe even state. I also heard that they had to get the sherrif out to keep the parents from getting to the coaches the last game played. Pittiful - they (coaches) ought to be ashamed. I've seen the seniors play in summer tournaments and they are good players that deserve better than that their last year.
  23. The same reason a kid that is all tournament in this year's JR Sunbelt didn't make it on that team - Politics and there are a large amount of tallented players in the area. I for one would like to see this go by division so we arn't compairing D1 to D3 stats. Big difference. Also, I'd love to have my sons team play in some other district - the Overton kids were served BP every game. Their numbers show it too. No offense to them but their competion didn't happen until their Regional games. Robbie will be fine at Arkansas if he doesn't sign to go pro. So will the others that were left off the team - xx amount of slots to fill, and xxxxx amount of good players to fill them with!
  24. Congrats to Coach Hawks - how long has he been at the school? Could you give us some stats on how many district titles, post season wins, state appearences he has had? I know his resume is impressive. Southpaw - can you answer a question or two? Did the kid that caught the ball and hit the wall - is he OK? Was he knocked out? Second and it's a rumor only - did you loose a player yesterday?
  25. First, let me talk about the intentional hitting of a batter - what a punk, bush league action! Anyone who says "only in the ribs, numbers or leg should have to endure the ball hitting them to see how it feels. I don't care if they throw it 65 mph - that is still hard enough to break a rib or bruse a hitter. What would happen if after an intentional hit batter the next hitter takes a cut for the fence - and just so happens that his grip slips... oops, my mistake pitcher - sorry about the bat in your ear. Where does it stop? What a sorry excuse for a post - and I don't care if it has been used throughout the years as a message. Maybe the message needs a response.
