DL struggled without Slater at point whether you saw it or not. She is the senior point guard, and it was obvious the offense was not flowing as well without her. You have not seen DL enough if you think this was one of their best games. Bridges was in foul trouble early and Slater was not in. That is two starters that did not play much not just one. Thurley drives to the left side every single time, and DL should have done a better job covering her. Ellenburg dominated the paint. No one could stop her. Once Mitchell (playing no post D) went through Ellenburg to get the ball and no foul was called. That was with about three min to go, and Ellenburg would have been at the line for one and one.(possibly putting the lead to 8) but instead CPA got a quick layup. Turnovers killed DL at the end. The last play DL switched defenses with a few seconds to go which threw the girls off. Keen pulled two charges and has kept some of the best players in the district to minimal points. DL had a foul to give and should have fouled Boyd before the kick out. It was a great game to watch.
