  1. I think that Wartburg will go down by 12-18 points if Hampton will come out and press them. I think that O.S. will win by 10 because they will out rebound the Cloudland Team. If Hampton plays Half-court with Wartburg they will lose by 5
  2. I think Wartburg was missing 3 starters when they played Cloudland at Christmas
  3. Kat Johnson at Sunbright is a good young coach. She is taking over a program that has been at the bottom but they could be very good in a couple years under her guidance. The team had a poor record but they will get better. Davis @ Wartburg is a good one also! Been to sub-state two times!
  4. That's true, if there is a difference between east and west it is pretty small. Humbolt is pretty good though!
  5. Ha Ha Ha! This is all pretty funny. Somehow I don't think that getting a coach from P.J. will do the deal but it may be a step in the right direction. Do you think that if they posted the coaching position that Coalfield might be able to attract a young, hungry coach? I watched them play about a dozen times, which was about a dozen times too many, this year and think that the team could have been much more competitive. During most of their games they played very little defense and even were attempting to run with teams like Wartburg and Cumberland Gap. That's not smart. In this district they should be able to hang with Oakdale and Sunbright. I don't think that is asking to much from em
  6. But the truth is We had an awful season! Basketball is about tournament time not how many games you win in the regular season. All the reg season does is prep you for tournaments. This team hasn't done well in tournaments ever. They should've been to a couple sub-states by now at minimum they should have been in at least one. They beat Wartburg when they were freshmen and can't beat them as soph, beat O.S. as soph but cant beat Wartburg, and now beat Wartburg 3 times but can't beat O.S. or Oneida, or a bad Greenback team. Something is wrong with the way they finish seasons. The term choke comes to mind and they have got to get over that.
  7. What happened with Wartburg and Rockwood last night? I thought the Wartburg Boys were supposed to be very good this season! Did they just have a bad night or is Rockwood that much better than they are? If the score on here is right they only scored 40 points That's not going to beat anybody!
  8. Hair Club for men! /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> I'm not only a member but I'm also the president /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> Grace needs to compete with the priv. schools!
  9. They should be in there with Webb plain and simple.
  10. Trap Game is the truth! I think they were thinking about the next round with O.S.
  11. Wartburg has had a great run during tournaments but It will end here. I wish them the best but I believe the score will be O.S. 52 Wartburg 45
  12. This is just a team that is State Tournament or Bust next year. They should have been there by now and I'm not sure they will be able to do it once Jones, Scarbrough, Landrum, and Co. graduate. Next year should be the best year is school history! They shouldn't lose very many games I think they are surely favored to win the District Next Year! Coalfield and Oneida should be in the finals of Dist and Region
  13. To say that the talent level at wartburg right now matches the talent level of teams with the likes of Howard, McGhee, and Blakney of years gone by is crazy. He has not had one dominant post player in his two years. This team has good guards but to say that they are winning on talent alone is not very smart. If I remember you guys said we will see how well he coaches next year after last year. Think about the teams that had Jeffers and J. Susak on them. I have watched a great deal of basketball in the area for the past 20 years and I have seen at least 5 wartburg teams with more talent than the teams that have been there over the past two seasons! I saw him call some great plays and run some good sets late in the game that lead directly to scores, plus his teams always break the press good.
  14. Knight, I just don't feel like you can always blame Coach Hines. She has had many things to deal with this year and it isn't fair to pile on her. She is proven and the team will be ok next season.
  15. I'm amazed the Lady Dogs are in the Substate! Congratulations Lady Dogs! Good Luck against O.S.!
  16. Over the past 2 seasons Coalfield has been awful! 2007 1-20 2008 0-24 That's 1-44 in the last two years. The program is at the bottom so what can they do to improve and get back to at least the regional touranament? I would like to see them be more respectable. I also feel there are kids in the school that could play but don't. What is the solution?
  17. Just browsing through tonight following our crushing loss at Greenback. You Wartburg people are NUTTS! The man has been there two years and at worst has had you in the Regional Semi's both years must be awful with such a downtrodden program. Our boys would love to be so awful. You need to wake up and understand that O.S., Oneida, and Coalfield were all head and shoulders above you in terms of talent with the injuries to your two studs. Healthy they could have competed but I was very impressed with the way they have battled to this point in tournaments. Just an observation of the program kids won't play that hard for someone they don't like. Our girls were on their way to being great until people in the stands started on Coach Hines and now the kids show the effects on the court. bulldogfamily whether you know it or not you are hurting your team.
  18. I don't know that our schedule was all that bad this year. Greenback was up 1 late in the game and it looked like we might pull it out but they hit a bunch of free throws to seal the deal. The officiating was horrible! It is just really hard for a team to win at Greenback with all their tradition and ability to play good team basketball. Coalfield will be back next year and I would imagine that they have learned many lessons this year.
