  1. Oakland is now 6-2 and getting some great pitching and defense. Sounds like a familiar formula for success Team is hitting thier stride just in time for the Classic this weekend.....should be fun to watch For all those that doubt Mack Hawks and the Patriots........shame on you!!!!!!
  2. LOL...first you say they didn't play anybody, now you say you have season pass....you are losing credibility by the minute. Bottom line is that National Championships are rewarded by USA Today and Baseball America every season and if your schools gets recognized by either you should be very proud of the accomplishment
  3. This tournament is always crazy, so who do ya got playing on Sunday? Final Four Pool 1- Oakland Pool 2- Farragut Pool 3- Brentwood Academy Pool 4- Germantown Championship at MTSU Oakland vs Germantown Oakland wins another Classic, let's go Pats!
  4. If you are such a big fan of Gtown, then you would know that they DID play in the Upper Deck Classic in San Diego that season. At the time, this tournament was considered the Number 1 tournament in the country, with multiple teams ranked in various polls. It was because of this tournament that Gtown won the national championship. They went 38-0 and won this tournament. Maybe you should know your facts before you get on here
  5. With the new classification next year, I don't things look very promising for Smyrna. They will be competing in the same District with Oakland, Riverdale, Siegel, Blackman, and Lavergne....I see Smyrna finishing near the bottom of that district every year
  6. Ok, you call Phil Clark and tell him he isn't the 1995 National Champion and tell me what he says, or go to Valdosta Georgia and tell them thier National Footaball Championships don't mean anything, or go to Oak Hill in Virginia and take thier banners down.....your logic is crazy. Don't you think professionals with years of experience talking to pro scouts and college coaches are qualified to determine who the best in the country are. I do
  7. If you are ranked Number 1 in USA Today or Baseball America, you ARE the number 1 team in the country. These polls have years and years of scouting the country for great high school baseball teams.
  8. Oakland (5-2) Schedule and scores 3/9 at Wilson Central L 3-2 3/12 Rossview DNP 3/13 Beech W 7-0 3/16 Smyrna W 14-0 3/16 Father Ryan W 14-4 3/17 at Siegel L 2-1 3/18 Siegel W 2-0 3/20 Lavergne W 6-5
  9. Might be the dumbest thing I have seen in a long long time. You obviously don't know anything about baseball, polls, or anything else in life What they have done is AMAZING The last 10 years may never be duplicated at the AAA level
  10. I couldn't have said it better myself....southpaw, you are right on man
  11. I think both teams played two great games.....both teams learned alot about themselves I wouldn't want to play either in May
  12. I know the benefits of only 2 schools.....I have seen it both ways, and of course the teams had more depth from top to bottom back then. Back in the 90's there were sooo many great players at Oakland and Riverdale. My point is that Oakland and Riverdale have not seen a dramatic drop in success since the opening of Siegel and Blackman. Again, I ask, how many district/region/state app have Siegel and Blackman had? Oakland and Riverdale have been able to maintain a high level of success Siegel and Blackman are getting better and maybe this will be a year they break out
  13. I think this is the first time a team from TN has been ranked #1 since 1995, when Germantown finished 38-0 and crowned USA Today National Champions. Oakland was ranked #2 when they lost in the sectional game two years ago Good job Admirals for bringing more national attention to TN high school baseball
  14. Great Coach, but a better Man. You will be missed by all Patriots Coach King!
  15. I was just stating that obviously Oakland and Riverdale are maintaining the level of success they established before Siegel and Blackman opened. The facts support this statement and you are ignorant to think otherwise....how many district championships/region championships/state tournament app have Siegel and Blackman had?
  16. Isn't it always a banner year in Murfreesboro for either Oakland or Riverdale I think you are mistaken if you think Siegel and Blackman have hurt Oakland and Riverdale. AND I believe both Oakland and Riverdale have made multiple trips to the state tournament since Siegel and Blackman opened District 7AAA Championship will go to either Oakland or Riverdale by the way, i forget, which year did Riverdale win the state??
  17. then you know nothing about this thread.....Oakland is and will always be one of the top programs in the state.
  18. young team loses by 1 run on the road at Wilson Central to start the season, lose by 1 run on the road at Siegel.....sounds like they might be ahead of schedule with the reloading on Patriot Drive, when they get that first one on the road....look out!!!!
  19. I would hope Columbia's field is good, they have Southern Athletic Fields working on it
  20. Mack Hawks Field----Oakland High School
  21. Very true MTCSFAN, this wonderful game of baseball has many things to teach these kids about life. Good post
  22. I like this southpaw.....he knows his stuff I think some of the better sophs in the class attended Lascassas and went undefeated as 8th graders. Guys that you haven't really heard from yet, but I promise you will. Remember the names Hughes, Henry, Gardner, Moore, and Messick Every kid that plays at Oakland knows the tradition and expectation placed on them by teams of the past, and they embrace that and work hard to achieve those expectations
  23. I never said he was an all american.....but with his size he must be put on the watch list.
  24. I don't know enough about your "Siegel guys" to match player for player Oakland Sophs to keep an eye on in the next few years in my opinion are Moore, Fann, Hawks, Gardner, Cole, Hughes, Henry, Veron, Arnett, and Messick
  25. There is no question about the talent being split up now. Both Oakland and Riverdale have seen the talent drop slightly since the other schools opened. However, both schools have been able to maintain the overall success established in the 90's. Those teams of the mid to late 90's were awesome and full of talent. Oakland has a really good sophomore class full of very talented ballplayers. If they can reach their potential, championship will soon return to Patriot Dr. Not sure who started but would probably bet on Barrett or Smith
