  1. heck, you had 30 different people taking the job at one time. One of your guess was bound to stick...
  2. Thanks for the update Rumormill. You never know what the rumors are for this job opening. Thanks for updating us because everyone knows that everything you read on the CoachT boards is true. As for your info everone knows that Cory will interview for the job. Why not? Cory can't seem to apply for jobs fast enough. He applied at Lebanon and of course shelbyville two years ago and who know where else. I had forgotten that Embry was Insell's assistant. If they are looking for former assistant coaches they need to look at their current football staff. Both the head coach and an assistant have been for assistant boy's bb coaches for Shelbyville. I think it was several years ago because their current boys head coach was also on football staff. Just a thought when we looking at all the options. Just curious, who is their assistant coach from last year? The one other than Boyd West who worked at the school. Will he or she apply? Is that person a candidate to be head coach? Just wondering.
  3. Really?? lol. U really think whoever gets coach over there is going to be successful with that talent???? I understand that the kids on the team now could not play their way out of a paper sack...lol...multiple people tell me too much drama going on over there to put a team together correctly. More concerned about what happens off-court than on-court. In my other post, I was talking about transfers. I forgot that Shelbyville got one from MTCS. The sister of Alex Martin. Not sure her grade. I saw her at the Hooptown tryouts. She is an ok player if she can stay healthy with her leg. With Shelbyville in such chaos, I hear she may be coming back to MTCS. =-) Or she could go to Riverdale and win a state title.
  4. Just curious, where is Coach Clark going? Their local paper said "to pursue other opportunities" while the Tennessean says she got a college offer but did not reveal where. Also states she was not fired. Anybody heard word on this?
  5. I will say this about RumorMill's posts. Even if some won't admit it, you have made some people laugh more than you know. So when are you going to give us the next rumor updates? lol I hear while some may be fiction others may be closer to truth than you realize. Btw, when did the Shelbyville job become the laughing stock of CoachT. In years past, it was one of the best in the state, if not the nation. Now, back-to-back losing seasons and a post that makes the job look like a big joke. I posted this on a different thread about the status of that program. Now we see what many others thought. It is a big joke right now with no fix in sight. I have no dog in the hunt. Nor did I take a side when the Shelbyville admin chose between Allison Clark and Tom Insell. The divide between those supporters runs deep as shown in this post and the number of people who have viewed/talked about it. Perhaps we need to turn the recruiting spotlight from Shelbyville to other teams in the middle tennessee area who are recruiting like Rick Insell used to be accused of doing (it has been stated here so it must be true...lol). Riverdale is the new recruiting hotbed. Transfers happen every year there, but of course it is all legit. They now have the dominance that Shelbyville used to have. Numerous state titles and tournament appearances. And let's not forget our good buddy Tom Insell from Franklin County who managed to get a "transfer" from Grundy County who took his team from being a bottom of the district team to a contender or look at Lawrence County who was the recipient of the ever-rotating Gilbert sisters (Shelbyville, Lawrence Co, now Columbia) who helped lead the Lady Wildcats to district championships. So, while I am not from Shelbyville, let me say they are not recruiting anymore (obviously, as shown by their record lol), but they are not the only team to have been the recipient of "non-local" kids who helped push them to success. Especially in nearly last decade. A friend of mine told me that the last state championship won down in Shelbyville was with a locals so apparently it can be done. That team had Alex Fuller, Ashleigh Newman, etc. If I am not mistaken, they were on Dateline that year too. That would have been 2004? Ok, I am getting off my soapbox now....
  6. It has been two years since the departure of Coach Burkey and the hiring of Allison Clark. Since then Shelbyville has not returned to the state tournament and has gone 27-36 in her two years. In the end of the season Boyd West left his second team in the middle of the season and one of the starting seniors was dismissed. In the last two years, Shelbyville has placed third in that district behind Franklin Co. and Lawrence Co. (who remain the favorites next year). What in the world is going on over there? I am an outsider just trying to figure out if this program can ever get back on the right path again. Thoughts? Is it time for yet another coaching change? Are the current/future kids playing ball this summer? I have watched Hooptown a few times this summer and did not recognize any of their kids.
  7. If I remember right there were similar accusations and 8th graders with Hillary Maxwell (now Hodges) when she was at Riverdale. That story got lots of media attention where the Franklin Co. story has remained hidden. Anybody know what/if any penalties the T$$AA might have imposed?
  8. What happened to the post about Tim Gardner? Did someone's feelings get hurt? Must have touched a nerve if the post got deleted.
  9. My source in Lawrenceburg says these two young ladies are enrolling at the high school and the middle school at Lawrence Co. Can this be true? If so, how bittersweet...
  10. Those same schools continue to recruit the same as Shelbyville and none have been caught. They get a player that they want to have and plug her into that AAU program they have and like magic she transfers to Shelbyville. I have people that are close to several of the other schools I mentioned that tell me those girls from Clarkrange, Wilson Central, and Jackson Co have all transferred in for basketball and basketball only. Not the cafeteria or the academics. BASKETBALL!. It's a shame that the T$$AA continues to overlook their blatant violations. Unfortunately, as you are so blind to see, I cannot turn them in. It has to be a T$$AA member coach or administrator who files a complaint. Not the average fan or parent. You need to catch up on your rules before you go spouting off for people to turn them in to the T$$AA. If I could I would. I will say this. These schools have a higher number of athletes who transfer in to their basketball program than most any other in the state. There is a difference if a kid is moved because of new schools or new realignment by school boards. I'm talking outright moving a kid so they can play BASKETBALL at a school.
  11. If that is what Shelbyville thinks they need to win a state championship then fine...recruit all you want. Bring Michael Jordan out of retirement and put a wig on him. I am sure he would have a reason that is "more than just bball" to move, i'm sorry TRANSFER to the mighty Shelbyville. The team I follow can beat their butt anytime...recruits and all. GO Shelbyville All-Stars.
  12. So what you are saying is that as long as there is "more to the story than bball" then it is okay to "transfer" or be recruited. I am sure there are many basketball programs who have kids transfer because there is "more to the story than bball" See Riverdale. Kids move in to change schools with coach...not to play basketball at Riverdale. But still it caused a big stir. Wilson Central gets kids from Mount Juliet that wanted to play at a different school but I am sure they move because there was "more to the story than bball" You can say they transferred for other reasons but in the end it is still a transfer to play basketball. I am sure the Clarkrange kids transferred to the school because they had a better cafeteria or better technology in the classroom as opposed to basketball issues.
  13. I just happen to find it interesting that people thought these girls might go to Lawrence County or Giles Co. and now suddenly they end up at Shelbyville. Wonder what they had to offer to get them to come? So the list of kids that have "transferred" to play for the All-Stars continues to grow. Woosley, Ramsey, Dawson, the list continues to grow. Remember you will have a hard time finding a Shelbyville team that won state who did not have a "Transfer" on the roster. Of course it is not just Shelbyville...Clarkrange, Wilson Central, Jackson Co. all seem to get a lot of "transfers".
  14. How convenient...Are they both freshman? I still call it a transfer when a girls transfers from another school into another. Looks like the Shelbyville all-stars are gearing up for another recruiting class. Did any of the Shelbyville faithful just happen to find her parents a job and a home.... /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
  15. I was at Shelbyville's team camp a couple of weeks ago. The game I wanted to see had finished so I decided to watch the Shelbyville game. Some of their fans informed me that they had two girls (sisters) transferring into the program from Giles County. I watched the game and did not see either girl. Was told later they were in some AAU thing. Any truth to this? And are these the same girls that were discussed on here of transferring to Lawrence Co.?
