  1. Mathis is fine. He got hurt about 2 weeks ago but he's played since w/o any problems.....that is, unless he got hurt yesterday in practice or something which I haven't heard yet. And yes the plan is to hand out our STATE CHAMPIONSHIP rings tonight, but it's not merely to rub it in yall's face. It just so happens that the rings are due to be delivered today.....so it's simply coincidence....no lie. But yes, it does make it quite fun to do it against your region rivals. And you can't tell me PC wouldn't do the same thing to WC.
  2. No, only if cwood wins will they be in a tie with Wboro for 3rd, but if Wboro wins they will be in sole possession of 3rd at 5-3.
  3. PC by 15+ with our without Allen.
  4. Yeah it hasn't been too pretty for WC lately....it's been a pretty ugly stretch of 7-8 games....however their effort was a ton better last night than what it has been. Montgomery was back for Cwood but you could tell he's still a long way from where he will be once he gets his game back.
  5. Not if you switch at the level of the screen and don't allow gaps to slip....Willard teaches this well.
  6. Well actually, b/c y'all run him off so many single single and double screens, it'll be a little bit of everybody cause WC normally switches most everything.
  7. Not with A. Rice guarding him.
  8. wingman is not a WC fan.....He's a collinwood poster (I think).
  9. Yeah true....as of right now looks like it'll be between Keeton and Turnbow battling it out for the QB position. Maybe the compeition between them will help both of them improve. I guess Ian Powell would be a WR for us...he's got good height and pretty good hands....not sure about his route running though. And Lukas Pierce will be a nice passing option from the TE spot. I'm honestly more concerned about the O and D Line....I know we have a couple good ones but a couple aint gonna be enough.
  10. Tennessean has him with 7 points....musta had a tough night.
  11. Even though it was a close game to half....you just had the feel WC could take control anytime.....and that's exactly what they did the 3rd qtr....19-2 I think it was.....they came out of the locker room super agressive and pounded it down low very nicely in the 3rd....it was up to a 21 point lead pretty early in the 4th and ended up 16. Wayne Co was very scrappy tonight and were by far the more physical team. It wasn't always pretty but WC played super hard and the defensive pressure game stown trouble. Peyton and Austin didn't look to bad for their 1st week back....just need to get their conditioning back on track. Melson played really well tonight on the low block. Willard played at least 10 guys...maybe more. Glad we were able to pick up this first W against them so early after football. Should be a fun year! Go CATS! Oh and glad we recognzied the football team.....but geez.....halftime of the boys game when about 10-12 football players were in the locker room???? There were more cheerleaders on the floor than fball players....that was pretty much a bonehead move on whoever made that decision. Hope they'll do it again.
  12. It'll be Perry Co and Wayne Co for the District title (and prolly Region). Stown just don't have the offensive firepower to contend this year. Could there be an upset or two? Yea no doubt, b/c although Stown and Cwood are prolly 3 and 4 in the D12, they're not that far below the top 2 (especially when Cwood gets Montgomery back). Should be a fun year.....wish it was after Cmas already!
  13. Don't make sense wcboy?? His post doesn't match your response. Ambassador is one of the classy SP posters.....come on man.
  14. Bernard strikes again....read the whole article btw cause it bring up the PC ineligibles again. Bobby didn't want that L.... http://saxo.highschoolsports.net/article/20111208/SPORTS07/312080037/TSSAA-rejects-early-start-football-practice?Nashville&Avis=DN
  15. I just wanna bring up Zach Clayton's (#20) huge contribution in this c'ship game and all season for that matter. We all know Austin and Clint were great, but man Zach contained the edges and prolly saved the game for us several times. He got beat on the very first play from scrimmage for SP on that reverse, but after that, wow, he strung plays out all day and would not let SP have the corner. And that 4th down stop on the 1st drive I think was crucial for our confidence in this game. Zach is undersized for an outside backer but man he's tough and has a huge heart. We just don't hear his name enough! Great job Zach!!
  16. Classy post! And yeah, we did say that about y'all last year, and honestly I thought y'all REALLY WERE the best team in the state til we played y'all. Hope someday we can have the year in, year out tradition y'all have.
  17. No, I wouldn't disagree with that. We couldn't stop them until the final play. And yes, they just completely laid down the rest of the year. However, I didn't understand how Cascade got them before us. Yeah, Harlan was ALMOST unstoppable that night, but #19...that defensive end...can't remember his name, but he was a stinkin BEAST!
  18. I know y'all still got y'alls backfield....but what about the boys in trenches? Aren't y'all losing most of those guys? I say Gordonsville gets y'all next year.
  19. Ha yea I know....so this is my last post....I think. Can I say Huntingdon was better than SP? Idk man idk. Warbritton and Watson were just as fast as #2 Johnson and #6 Lankford imo....but SP also had #15 Chubb who was very fast too. SP definitely has the size advantage (but they did over WC too). Their O line is beast! I think Hunt. would have some success running the ball, but so would SP. Passing game advantage is by far to SP, but then Hunt. hardly ever passes. Hunt. did a much better of job defending the veer, but against Hunt. O, I think SP's D would match up better than they did with WC. The only way to figure this out would be to battle it out.......If I were forced to give a vote...I would say SP would squeak one out....just think they have a couple more offensive weapons than Hunt. And I'm sure Hunt. will come back around soon with some really strong teams....tradition has a way of coming back around. I just hope WC can reload and come back in a few years as a state title contender. Go CATS!
  20. It's all a mute point now....but....explain why they played 'their worst game'. I think y'all ran up against a D and an O that were better than y'all had played all year and they had a lot to do with y'all playing that 'worst game'. We were able to negate y'alls speed on the edges and just plain whooped y'all in the trenches.
  21. We'll see about that. Your Stown boys don't have a kid with the killer instinct this year.....Chard and Allen just arent those type players (although I really like Allen's game). WC has Mathis and Rice and they have that 'will to win' that finishes big games off. Tucker has that for PC, and I think we're gonna see the same thing from Ethan Butler of Cwood this year too. And A Rice is a different type of player than his brother. Everybody always underestimates his athletic ability much to their demise.....he can D up anybody!!.....and will give Stown all kinds of trouble defensively.
  22. Willard always does that early on, but as the season progresses he narrows his rotation. I think he does a good job of getting the young ones some real game action early in the season.
  23. Wow I can't even find the words to respond to this besides 'you're joking right'?? I'm gonna let other WC posters clean this up. And btw, coacht message board would only let me use 4 roflol emoticons or I would've kept going for several lines.
