All the games being played now are scrimmages, they mean nothing, Spring Hill will be a very tough team this year. May be better than last year. I am not looking forward to us playing them especially at home.

East Hickman went to santa fe for a scrimmage, tied 2-2 ( got dark), They got in about 6 innings, I didnt know they did not have lights out there, nice field, but no lights.

Yes there is some real dirty stuff goes on behind the scenes in Hickman County, but I imagine it can happen anywhere. On a positive note the kids are working hard and the few that stuck it out may get rewarded in some way or another. Fairview should be ok this year, I know they have several good ball players there, Ethan Cassidy ( he is by trade a football player but is also very skilled baseball player as well.) and Wyatt Lampley, both have played travel ball in the past ,but do not know if they are playing. If I remember correctly they had a lefty that could throw pretty good also.

We have 2 returning starting pitchers this year,1 is a junior and 1 senior, and yes the catcher is still there, he will also be pitching this year as well. Our coach from last year went to Lexington. 95% of the parents loved Coach Britt, It was a few disgruntled parents that kept the "drama'' going for our team. but thats all it takes to get things going in Hickman County,If you are not in the "Click" , and a few calls to the right people and you will be railroaded, innocent or not. We are just trying to focus on having a respectful year and get a good program started.

I hope so too, but for some reason in the Hickman County school system,they tend to run off good Coaches. I really like the Coach we have this year, I think if given a chance, he can make good things happen for our program. But after what they did to Coach Britt, and Coach Jones (football) it sickens me, who knows what they will do to this Coach.

This year East Hickman will be under a new Coach. He is from Texas and has Coached High School and JUCO for 20 something years. He seems to be extreemly knowledgeable of the game. The kids like him, but I dont expect big things from the Eagles this year,based simply on lack of participation. 3 Seniors as far as I have seen are playing, 3 Juniors,3 sophmores and a bunch of Freshmen. If he can keep his Freshman group together and they do not drift off into other things, they should do well in a few years. I can only hope for the Seniors sake they have a decent season, since these kids have played on the very first Middle School team in Hickman county they have had a different Coach, this is the 6th coach they will have thru School ball. Kind of a rough way to go. The Coach is Steve Spatts this year, and he is starting off on the right foot. If he stays , he will definetly help the team get going.

I believe it is # 3, I am not exactly sure how it reads but basically if your child is attending a school and the School does not offer a sport your child plays ( wrestling,soccer,hockey,ect) providing they meet TSSAA eligbility rules, (grades,ect) they can go to a connecting county that provides that sport, or if a connecting county does not provide it the closest one. Waverly has a "feeder school" that several kids have played football,baseball in the past. Hickman county does not Offer Wrestling and some kids have in the past went to Dickson and Fairview to be on the team. One kid we had here a few years ago was a excellent Hockey player, he had to go all the way into Nashville to be on a team.

I hope he can go a dual route, Baseball and basketball, he may end up getting a better School offering both those skills. I hope he keeps rolling like he is, he has definetly got a good start. I also hope the best for bulldog, he has 1 hurdle to get over and he will be a very desirable college prospect.

As far as college where is his heart at? Basketball or Baseball ? I know when he was on hit after hit he was very passionate about baseball, he was always one of those 110% kids . Im sure he will be getting much more attention as this season progresses. I seen you post where "bulldog" is going to columbia state????? I know Coach Britt was on the phone after the east Springhill game calling his contacts to Southern Alabama telling them to get up here and look at this kid.

Looking at the Tennessean stats he is leading All Districts in 3 pointers made. Way to go.

I have watched him play basketball for the last 3 years, he keeps getting better, I have no doubt he could go to a good college, its not everyday you have a pure shooter like him come along, he is taking NBA 3 pointers, nothing but net, he dont care about the 3 point line......when he feels it he hits it. He plays smart, and can handle the ball as good as he shoots, East hasnt played CA in baseball as of yet, But i remember him as a travel ball player on Hit after hit and he stood out there as well, i am sure he is on top of his game on the baseball field too.

He stood out last year, but this year I heard several East Hickman parents state that he was the best all around player they have seen on a High School court. He was unstoppable and his hard work has paid off. As for baseball I know he is also a stand out. After he played us last year in basketball I knew he would be better this year......but WOW. Any college coach watching him play surly will overlook the size factor, he is gonna put up points and get the ball downcourt no matter how big the others are. I hope he gets picked up and gets a good Scholarship.

Is Chipper going to try to get a Scholarship at Basketball ? I know he is pretty good at Baseball also, but last night, I seen on the best 3 point shooting and just flat out playing ball I have ever seen in a High School game, he is very impressive.

Not good....Giles should dominate, it will be over by the halftime.

Derrick has been working hard all summer, he was our #2 last year as a sophmore, and is now a junior, he has shown much more control and power,also he has grown and is much stronger, Jacob Voyles has never pitched because he had to play catcher, he throws substantially harder than anybody on the team,actually the history of the team. He will be able to be free to pitch this year,as we have a few catchers added, 2 new kids moved in that are supposed to be fine additions as well, we are getting excited this year as some of the kids are coming along, we lost coach britt but he started the kids in the right direction.

Derrick Gosset will be a Jr. this year he was our # 2 pitcher,last year. he is really throwing hard, when he is on.....look out, when he is off,he is really off.

Who is expected to dominate the district this year? East Hickman has about 6 Seniors this year on the team, and another new coach. Our Seniors have had a different coach every year they played since Middle School, On the bright side there are a few new kids moved into the area on is a Junior and the other is a Sophmore both travel ball players, hopefully we will have a decent year, Our new Coach is from Texas and has coached High School baseball for 23 years, seems like a nice guy. I believe we will have a few sophmores step up as well this year. We will have no depth but if all holds together we should have a decent 9 to start. Our pitching will be much stronger this year.

Yes the game has been moved to tonight.....I guess since it is the Seniors last game,senior night.

Aussie Light ( C/P) -Whitehouse, Tyler Bigler ( IF/P)- Spring Hill, Austin Owen ( IF/P )- Dickson , East Hickmans top players this year will be Jake Voyles (C/P) Austin Lehman ( IF/P) and Derrick Gosset (CF/ P) Derrick is only a Jr. and was our number 2 pitcher last year, he has bulked up,been working out and is throwing very hard ,he should be hard to beat this year.

Well the final game for our Eagles is this friday.......how will they fare against Lewis County.

East is now getting ready to go to Giles County no need for further discussion. We will see Mr. Davis in baseball season provided he is not in jail or kicked out of school by then. Coach B, I hated to see you go but wish you the best of luck, im sure the kids miss you. As far as opinions on the game, we are all entitled to our opinion, I have mine , but want to keep it to myself. Im not the Coach, he will have to live with his decisions. #22 is the man,he "IS AND WILL BE" by far our best player, nobody can take that from him. He may not be the "Coaches pet" but he has the best attitude on the team and will do anything asked of him. its unfortunate he does not get utulized like he should be, but he is a winner he does not let it bother him, he is a winner for life.

Credit is given where credit is due,credit for the loss is on our Coaches hands. When you do good.praise is given.when you screw up...accountability is also something you must face. I like our coaches,I dont hate them, they just screwed up..it happens.the program is still growing by leaps and bounds, but they cost the game, I am still numb as to why in the world would you give a team that is building momentum, the ball on downs on East 18 yard line. Listening to the radio ,the game commentators were also baffled. I understand the frustration, I also share it. Keep your heads up East, #22 your the man...........keep doing what you do ( even if they dont give you the ball) You know whats up......

Naturally I will be going with East. our #22 will be ready for anything the centerville bullpuppies will bring. This will be the most anticipated game of the year..... I cant figure why East has to go back to Centerville again this year? looks like ole Centerville is trying to give themselves the best chance to pull a final win against East. Not going to happen.
