  1. Are u guys sure you're talking about Marvin Williams? He seems to have a nice skill set around the basket and good footwork. But as far as his motor, I would have to DRASTICALLY disagree. He's got the skills, though obviously not the Height and athletic ability. But he seems fairly lazy or it may just be the conditioning. I saw them play 7 times and he seemed vastly out of shape and borderline liability. And they seemed to play alot better when he sat down and #44 subbed in for him. But the skills are there. He just needs to drop a few pounds. By the way, like terop, I don't think I noticed Tyler Stone either. He may have been the guy that made the game-winning lay-up when they beat Melrose at Central
  2. This is something I was wondering. 2 years ago Raleigh-Egypt played in the Hotbed Classic in New Albany. Their opponent was Northeast Lauderdale. I was just wondering(for anybody who knows), if they had been scheduled for Nettleton, Miss. that year in that event and were changed. Reason being, I heard before that season that Nettleton was supposed to play them in that event. I know their coach and he tends to be scared of competition, so I was wondering why they didn't play against R/E. Maurice Miller was a senior for R/E that year. For anybody who knows.
  3. He's not hating. He's just telling u the recruiting regulations. That's all
  4. Bartlett is a suburb and everybody from the city can't travel like the suburban residents do. Basketball is king in Memphis, yet we don't travel as well. There's a reason for that. You think we just don't care? THINK, PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. ADSMOM, I had this alittle wrong, it actually took place at about 45 secs. #34(or it might've been 24) picked up his dribble then shuffled his feet and kicked it to #10 who got it to Steele at about halfcourt. Steele then, instead of dribbling right across halfcourt to get his team out of trouble(which is what any guard being mentioned in the same breath as Joe Jackson should be able to do), picked up his dribble and slid. Neither travel was called. Not surprised though. After all, I remember that ridiculous charge foul that was called on Mitchell's Kenyan Torry last year when the Fulton player ran up under him on his lay-up attempt that fouled him out. You all know what's up. You can't handle the ball. Two D1 guards who can't break a press? Are you serious? Well, I guess that's what's going on in today's game
  6. Just so you'll know, it's the biggest rivalry in the city
  7. If a D1 player has no help, he's more likely to get those numbers anyway.
  8. Held to 5 points at State? Jackson gets it done consistently against the best competition. I'd vote for the guy doing it against better competition. I'm far too well aware of gaudy numbers against cupcakes. Kelly does all that yet he's going to a MAC school? That shows how good his competition is. Jackson is a sure McDonald's All-American, and probable 1st or 2nd team Parade All-American.
  9. Humbodlt and 5 teams from Memphis, and 4 of the Memphis teams played in the finals. Humboldt and Memphis are the furthest places among all this year's participants. That should be pretty easy to figure out.
  10. Tell me what you see on Fulton's last 2 possessions
  11. I don't know about the 5 second call at the end, but the on the play before that, 2 different players for Fulton got away with an obvious travel. I wonder. How did they win a state championship while only losing to 2 teams all year, when they are THAT horrible at handling the ball? There was a time when competition prevented teams like that from even being anywhere near a State Tournament. That was pitiful, seriously. Seemed like both teams came out looking pretty below average. BTW only scores 8 points in the entire first half yet only trails by 13 because Fulton could only manage 21 points in the same span. BTW had more height, speed and individual talent. Play together and take reasonable shots(along with the pressure defense), and you run away with a title. For goodness sakes, those guys were HOOOOOOOORRIBLE at handling the ball. Some of yall try too hard at analyzing these games. The best "team" won. Look, it's this simple: 2 different players for Fulton got away with an obvious travel on the same possession. Then, the clock ran out on BTW. Before that, both teams looked like trash on offense. Fulton just got their nerves together much faster. FYI, BTW missed PLENTY lay-ups in the 1st quarter, and you could tell that they were obviously too hyped up when they were driving. Afterwards, they began to settle too much for ridiculous shots. Then Fulton couldn't get the ball past halfcourt. You people are talking some guys they have who are supposed to be going to college somewhere. Well, WHERE WERE THOSE GUYS WHEN IT CAME TIME TO DRIBBLE THE BALL? Do they not run press offense in practice? Run a man to the middle of the floor and beat the trap. It's easy.
  12. *sigh* I know all the stats you mention, and if you've ever seen me post on this site, you should've probably figured that out. They "weren't very good at all" in Prince's senior year and they got handled by Fairley in the City game? Must've been pretty good to MAKE IT TO THE CITY GAME. Last I checked, you had to be the regular season district leader to do that. Prince and Cunningham were a pretty lethal combination that season. I mentioned that Raleigh-Egypt has been in the State Tournament pretty much every year this decade. I think that qualifies as implying they are a powerhouse. So, I know that. But they haven't gotten the big one, and haven't even made the title game in AAA. I think yesterday was just their 2nd tournament win in AAA. Streak's gotta end sometime though. I think this is the year.
  13. I've only seen him 7 times this season. I agree with the hops, 3 ball, and defense. But the handles? He's not horrible, but definitely nothing that jumps out at you. And how in the world is his basketball I.Q. so high that you all keep mentioning it, yet he's ALWAYS IN FOUL TROUBLE?????????? /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> He's fun to watch though. He seems like Chris Douglas-Roberts to me: not necessarily highly skilled at everything but just finds ways to produce with the best of em.
  14. Some of these posts make me wonder where you people come from. White Station is THE powerhouse in Tennessee, hands down. They've won half the championships played this decade. They came in confident and handled business. They won't get "too" confident. That's just stupid. They know what it takes to get the job done. They're always at the top and they play the toughest schedule in the State year-in-year-out. They won't be "too" confident, but they will indeed be confident enough, and they'll bring their A-game. Now, Raleigh-Egypt. They've been to Murfreesboro almost every single year this decade(some in Class AA), but they have no gold balls to show for it. I think Coach Adams has some type of curse on him. But I really believe this is the year they'll break the jinx.
  15. Oh, man, I really can't stand you people. I said I wouldn't be surprised and you took that as spreading rumors and negative comments. Yall are really literally pitiful, just impossible.
  16. Don't forget about Melrose. What they did against White Station was beyond comprehension
  17. I don't understand why you people can't understand the actual words that one types. I actually said that EVERY TEAM SHOULD BE CAREFUL. To the contrary, I was actually implying that Grace, Temple and whoever else also has to be careful. I repeatedly said that this is the STATE TOURNAMENT. What does that mean? That means that I'm saying that any one of these teams can win since they were good enough to make it this far. You don't just roll through the STATE TOURNAMENT. Seriously, after reading my comments, how could you have such a lack of comprehension skills that you interpreted me to be saying, "Manassas and Humboldt are the only teams that can win"? How can we even interact with one another if we don't read what one is actually typing?
  18. aight, i'll concede, maybe anotha one with pop up outta nowhere
  19. 1. Does Grace have the personnel that Humboldt has to MAKE THEM play like that? Craigmont and Ridgeway did. Question is, does Grace? 2. These are teenagers. Everybody already knows they're not gonna be anywhere near flawless. 3. You have got to be kidding me by mocking the "my goodness". Please come up a little bit. My point is that you were saying they better be careful. Name me ONE team in the STATE TOURNAMENT that you can play without being careful. You people often bring me to the edge of just giving up on you.
  20. entirely uncalled for, U related to the Youngs, Joiners, Gilloms, or the Princes down in Batesville or Oxford?
  21. White Station is a national powerhouse. They know how to prepare for games, and I'm sure they won't come to the STATE TOURNAMENT overlooking anybody.
