  1. How will these two teams match up? Who is your predicted winner?
  2. RECIPE FOR TIGER STEW Toss in a few dozen DEVAN eggs and add milk. Throw in several pounds of salt PETERMAN for flavor and to get the fire started. CHASE a small herd of TIGERS onto the floor where they can be 3 point shot down by having SMITH & WEST in. RAM(SEY) the TIGERS into the HOGEYE MELTON POT. Cook on high heat for 32 minutes or until DUNN. ENJOY !!!!!
  3. Ain't nobody, I MEAN NOBODY, going to slow down the WILDCAT EXPRESS this week!!!!!!!!!
  4. In the 98-99 season Jackson County girls played Livingston Academy 6 times, twice in regular season, district, regional, sectional, and finals of state. It was the year that 4 "sectionals" were played with the top two advancing to the state rather than the traditional 8 substate games. Livingston won the first meeting, Jackson County won the next 4 meetings, and Livingston won in the state finals.
  5. Rocking Chair, from your user name I assume you are an older gentleman . Being from "lower Alpine", did you have the opportunity to play for, or watch, some of those great teams at Alpine High School?
  6. GC had an outstanding season and their future looks bright. My HOGEYE team gave you everything we had and it just wasn't enough. I love how your girls play that pressure defense. Defense truly DOES win championships.
  7. Come Wednesday night, Bolivar's great season will be "DUNN".
  8. According to the TSSAA website (which is somewhat incomplete), only one team other than Livingston Academy has ever appeared in the state finals with as many as 12 losses. To me, this exemplifies the character and grit of this classy group of kids. GO HOGEYE............... THE TRADITION LIVES ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. I'm a HOGEYE fan thru and thru. My take on this game is: 1. GC does as good of a job at putting pressure on the ball (AT ALL TIMES) as any team I've seen in years. 2. A team is not going to win many games at this level with 26 turnovers, about a third of which were unforced. 3. Despite 1 and 2, our girls played their guts out and kept themselves in the game until late in the fourth qtr. not by great shooting, but with grit, determination, and some darn good defense on their own. 4. GC IS the better team. 5. LA made a great run and have absolutely NOTHING to be ashamed of. They gave it all and left it on the floor. 6. I AM VERY PROUD TO BE FROM HOGEYE AND HAVE THESE GIRLS REPRESENTING MY COMMUNITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. If this were the same team, wouldn't there be some eligibility issues to deal with?????
  11. LA all over GC today.........LA all over BTW same time next week!!!!!!!!!!! The carpenters better start building another Trophy Case..........Quick!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Looks like it's going to be LA over GC today and LA over BTW same time next week!!! LIVINGSTON ACADEMY WILL GIT'R DUNN!!!
  13. I've read in the history books that the "pioneers" of this great nation never wanted to mess with "wildcats". Don't see any reason why that philosophy should change today.
  14. The Lady Cats aren't favored to win. That certainly DOESN'T mean they can't or won't win. After playing 32 minutes of smart, fundamentally sound, and inspired basketball, THEN we will know. Should they give it their best effort and still come up short, they can forever be proud of this season. Any way the cookie crumbles, it's been one heck of a run. GO HOGEYE!!!!
  15. Clarkrange, Jackson County, Livingston, Pickett County, Upperman, White County, and Celina. Upper Cumberland teams which have for decades set the bar for excellence in Tennessee High School Basketball. This year at least one , if not two, will add another gold to their case. Clarkrange for SURE, and Livingston (don't count us out) POSSIBLY! GO CLARKRANGE..................GO LIVINGSTON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. Well, let me think about it. LA lost to the State Champions Ensworth at their place by 2. We lost 1 other game to Upperman at their place. We have handily beaten twice the Clarksville team which is in the AAA state tourney. I say LA has a very realistic opportunity to win the Gold. They must play it 1 Minute at a time to their capabilities.
  17. I'd like to relate a true story about a State Championship game which occured a fews years back. The 2 teams involved both had outstanding records coming into the finals. However, one team was a huge favorite to capture the gold. This team had only lost twice (once to the nation's top ranked team according to USA Today), had 2 All American players, and had pretty much breezed thru the season. On the morning of the finals, I was sitting in the lobby of a hotel in Murfreesboro when the coach of the underdog team sat down at the next table to do an interview with a radio station from his area. As I recall, this coach said "Very few people in the State of Tennessee give us a chance against XXXXXX in today's game. They may be right. But we've been successfull doing what we do this season. We won't change today. If we get beaten as bad as everyone predicts, then so be it." The year was 1996. The heavy favorite was Livingston Academy. The LA All Americans were Sunday Watson and Tiffany Krantz. The huge underdog was Martin Westview. Martin Westview was , for one hour, the best team on the floor that day and the STATE CHAMPION!!!! This just might be the year when LIVINGSTON ACADEMY wins another as the underdog!!!!! Remember also that in 1999, LA was a big underdog in the finals to a Jackson County team which had beaten LA 4 consecutive times prior to the finals. Guess what? LA WON THE GOLD !!!!! GO HOGEYE IT AIN'T OVER TILL YOU SAY IT'S OVER
