  1. Just wondering if BADNEWS123 has had his slice of humble pie ?
  2. Way to keep it classy badnews. I'm hard-core GC, but they played horrible tonight. Riverside wasn't great either. Agree with Bullshark, sloppiest game I've seen in a substate match up. GC acted like they've never played a game of bball.
  3. Congratulations to Riverside. You wanted it more than GC did. GC played the worst game I have ever seen them play. Nothing clicked for them. They looked lost on their home court. I'm still shaking my head on the way home.
  4. Congratulations to the Gibson County Lady Pioneers on winning the region 7A championship!
  5. Looks like Union City is taking care of business!!
  6. No, I didn't see the game yesterday, but I am a 13AA fan, and I've been watching Macie for 4 years and Brandi for 3. I take nothing away from Brandi. Maybe I didn't word it the right way. I'm told Brandi had a great game yesterday, and I don't doubt it for a minute, but she is naturally not aggressive. She actually is timid by most accounts and appears to be lacking in confidence. My point is when she ever decides she is as good as she TRULY is--- watch out!!! Macie is little but has the heart of a lion, and plays like she is 10 feet tall. With this state tournament experience, Brandi should build all the confidence anyone could ever need. Definitely a Miss BB contender next year, and with the state tournament exposure, there should be no doubt! BTW, believe me, that's not easy to say as another 13AA opponent! lol
  7. I would pick Macie Wright over Goodman for Miss BBall. Macie is the key to that team. She can handle the ball thru traffic and makes the defense look like spectators. I think Goodman is a very good ball player, but needs to work on her ball handling and athleticism. That will be the factor for her for college recruitment. If she can polish those skills in the off season--my goodness--I can't even imagine the player she would be.
  8. My personal opinion is if Dyersburg had a better coach, they'd definitely be a contender. I don't understand his coaching philosophy. When you have a combination on the floor that is meshing well together, why constantly swap your players. They play just a few minutes together and then they're back on the bench. The girls can't play consistently together enough to "gel". JMHO
  9. The Gibson County radio station covering the state tournament replayed Saturday's game last night. OMG! My nerves were on fire again. The only thing that saved me was already knowing the outcome. That was definitely one awesome game. It's one that I think will go down in the books for many years to come. Congrats to both teams for a great game, but especially to my Lady Pioneers for their back to back gold ball. GC loves you! Thanks for the ride.
  10. redbirdfan. Nice post. I always enjoy reading what you have to say. Thanks.
  11. P&G, quit with the Fussell has no supporting cast. You insult those other girls. They are all good ball players. OC has a long and rich tradition of first rate bball. I've seen very few successful teams who all things are decided and dominated by ONE person. It shouldn't be up to one player to make the decision whether she has enough confidence in the other players to pass them the ball. That is a coach's job. And if a coach is relying on that one player to make all the decisions, well he/she ain't much of a coach. I take nothing whatsoever away from Chassidy as an individual player. She has exceptional skills, but I do think OC will fare better in the future, because they will have to play as a team, and for the last few years, that has not been the case. Now, with that all said, I wish Chassidy all the luck as she embarks on her college career at Texas, and congratulations on the Miss AA Basketball title. It was definitely a testament to 13AA for two of their players to be nominated. I have to say also, that there would have been no mistake if Amber Rechis from Westview was nominated as well. Congrats to all these girls on a wonderful high school career. It's truly been a pleasure to be able to watch such talent come from this area.
  12. I don't know about the rest of you, but I get sick and tired of people on here talking about other teams not playing a tough schedule. I notice those are mainly the one's who don't make it to the 'boro. That's all that was said about GC last year and some this year, and now I hear some saying the same about MC. Get over it! The top two AA teams played in the state championship game and boy was it a game to remember for a long time. MC and GC dominated the top of the polls all year, with the exception of OC's short time in the top spot, and that was only because the pulled off a win against GC. So enough of the schedule crap. I think these two teams proved themselves to everyone, and if you saw that game yesterday, there would be no doubts.
  13. Just wanted littleo to know that here in GC we're keeping it real, and we're bringing that gold ball home to WEST TENNESSEE today!
