  1. Full schedule is on the homepage at mtsnonline.com. 18 teams are taking part today. The full bracket is available at ladycommandosoftball.com

  3. I'm hearing this game kicks off at 7 PM. Can any MTCS fans confirm this?

    Moore County

Do they have a radio crew that does their games?
  5. Can't wait for the weekly interview with someone from the Booze It or Lose It office and the Army during gameplay.
  6. Is that the first time they've been out your way?
  7. I agree completely. Some of these games are understandable. Tullahoma-Columbia Central was great last year. Ensworth-MBA should be good. But, yeah, they really need to go to some new places. If they didn't have the Sinclair Broadcast Group backing them up, they'd go the way of CSS's coverage - non-existent. I hope Smyrna-Siegel turns out to be a good game going in. The last thing they need is another repeat of the horrific contest that Independence-Ravenwood provided to end last season. I still think they need to do flex scheduling or Viewer's Choice in October. I'd love to see MTCS-Eagleville on TV. Also, I think giving out a trophy for winning a weekly game is dopey. Just my view.

  9. The Middle Tennessee Sports Network will be heading to Vol State to broadcast this series live. Coverage starts at 12:45 PM tomorrow at this page: http://mtsnonline.com/HS_Softball_Live.html
  10. I'm a broadcaster. I was hauling in a table (of course, I didn't know they'd put out a friggin' table for me until about two days later), a soundboard, microphones, laptop, cord reel, all that stuff. My executive producer couldn't get off work for any of the days I was there, and no one else is going to help me unless they're getting money, so, there you go.
  11. The golf carts only roamed around the parking lots; they only time they ever came into the facility itself was when a player was injured and couldn't walk. I'd put my stuff on one of those carts, and then they'd drive me up to the entrance and drop me off.
  12. Believe me, I'd much rather play the softball tourney at high school fields and the championships at MTSU. StarPlex sucks; you have to walk a mile to your car from whichever field you're at. heck, McKnight's better than StarPlex. Plus, StarPlex doesn't have tarps. There was that panic during the tournament, with the threat of severe weather going from overnight Wednesday into Thursday morning, that the fields would get drenched and be unplayable, throwing the tournaments into chaos, as far as scheduling was concerned. Playing the early rounds in baseball at high school venues makes sense; why they don't do the same for softball, I have no idea.
  13. High school fields would be good for the preliminary rounds, but MTSU is the only place you could have everything in place for a TV game.
  14. The TSSAA Network didn't broadcast any of the softball championships. It's impossible to put a multi-camera setup at StarPlex.
  15. What happened between York and Smith County yesterday? Anybody know a final score? Even the Tennessean doesn't have a final.
  16. Is the 8-AA tourney double elimination?
  17. MTSN

    7 AAA

I was a little unsure of that, myself. That was how the tourney was supposed to have started last year, before they abandoned that format, and played the whole thing at Siegel.

    7 AAA

The two games on Friday are at the higher seed, then they move to Siegel starting Saturday.

They playing two or one at R'dale tomorrow?

    What about today?
  21. TSSAA rule says coaches can mutually agree to resume a regular season game from the point of where it was stopped.
  22. Game 2 of Siegel-Blackman was in the 4th, with the Stars up 2-0 when the rains came. They'll resume this game at 10 AM on Friday, and play Game 3 tomorrow starting at 4 PM. Riverdale was leading LaVergne 10-0 in the 3rd when the rains hit. Riverdale was hosting because LaVergne didn't cover their field for last night's rains. The game will start from scratch (that's what I gather, anyway) at 6:30 PM on Friday at LaVergne. Game 2 between Oakland and Smyrna has been called off completely and will be played from the start tomorrow at 6:30, with Game 3 at Smyrna pushed back to Friday. Any other games affected?
  23. Yes, they are being played.
  24. The rain has passed and the tarp has been pulled off of the field. The batter's box is being chalked up. The bases also need to be put down.
  25. I have just been told by Coach Reavis that the first pitch of Game 2 of the Siegel-Oakland series has been delayed until the rain that is headed towards Murfreesboro passes through. We will still broadcast the game. MTSN
