RR...you truly are stupid...no you all would not have had any district titles if Maryville had not been in your region...If West played in 5A this year with Powell, Central, and Halls you all would be 5-5 or 6-4 with OR and in that region as well and the Hardin Valley team you all struggled to beat last year! Central has beat West every year since lets say 1993 except for 96,96,and 07 the last time we played we beat you all in 08 and we tied the scrimmage with you all in the spring 2-2 and all you could say about that is that Central needs more people on their team...what , and by the way we have been in this conversation before and you all went 3-7 last year...I have no idea if Central will be back this year but they did look better in the spring and seem to be getting better this summer in their conditioning. I want to know where you get your stuff from? Let me know when you get back to Earth and get off planet West... Just a quick fact for you and every one on this thread West has made the quarter finals 1 time in my lifetime in 1993 at 11-3...get real RR.

Coach Mac has left and maybe back just taking some time off to get his health in line and may end up coaching again...Kevin Lane I heard is taking over the defense and learned under Mac...Coach Helton is still there!

There is a level of commitment involved in every thing we do and summer workouts are about the most important part of football all year long!!!

Well I have heard the rumor myself and it has not been from Powell or AC people it was going around a local baseball camp? But you know more about Powell so I agree with you.

I think AC will be tough...who all did they lose on defense? Have you heard anything about the Powell kid coming to AC...incoming freshman?

I have heard the same rumor about the QB and brother going to AC...anyone got any confirmation? Central should have a good freshman class and look to have a better team...we will see?

Well we have about 40 out this spring with about 3-4 that just got finished in track...so we will have our normal #s in the fall about 60-65 kids and that is all we ever have...we are going to be fine!

What did you think and did you see anything that either team needed to work on?

Well the scrimmage went well tonight at West and the final was 2-2 good scrimmage though and hope both teams continue to improve and get better for next year

I dont understand what being a really good athlete has to do with running a 40 and being fast...I am not arguing about the 40 being a measuring stick to how good of a football player someone will be, but at the same time it does show you something that you can not coach and that is all naturall speed!

Carl had one of the fastest top speedsa human has ever recorded, Usain Bolt and Donovan Bailey the 96 champion who tested positive both run around 29mph and Carl was not far behind. As for Bolt's 40 time according to 10m splits from his 9.69 run which was out of blocks was 4.185 seconds but he can travel the next 40yds 3.05 seconds. Delvin may be able to turn over the first 40 quick but the next 40 probably wont be near 3.05. Delvin has a quick turnover but short stride length due to his height, so it is understandable why there is such a difference in his 40yd and 100m time. His top speed is not that fast but he can get there quick. Delvin's time is not what makes me skeptical of the results, the other times are. Also, whoever was talking about reggie bush, watch film of him and watch how much ground each stride can cover. It is about 5 yards a stride, very few high school kids cover this much. Though the first 40yds are similar, the next 40 are a different level which is what makes him so fast. I wish reggie would have been a track guy because he could have been a world class long jumper. Did anyone else see him jump 7+ yards horizontally with tacklers coming at him and in football pads? Blue...that is what I told some other posters a few post back is that Devrin is built for the quick burst and the 40 sets up perfect for him and the 100 he picks up no more speed than he has at the 40 yd mark! Found out that the times might have been aided by the wind but I thought the wind was blowing in their face when they running when I was out there! Would that make a difference if they had a face wind and not wind from behind...faster or slower?

Dragon...RR must not have been around during the Scotty Witt days and Jason Leinhart days at Clinton when they were state contenders about 3-4 years in a row...how can you claim to be a power house without having any power or records to back it up? RR we are cool I just wish you would get the facts straight and know what you are talking about before you throw out the word power house! I dont know if Central is back yet or not but we will find out in about 2 months!

Im not sure what machines were used but I do think that last year about this time or right before or after the UT camp DYoung ran a 4.37 or 4.39 40 at a combine in ATL maybe...check location...but I remember when Carl Lewis use to run the 100 in the Olympics and would be behing the first 50 meters and then run off and leave everyone...I do believe Bolt runs a low 4s or sub 4 second 40 based off his 100 time?

Knoxcoach...you are right the TB that will be a freshman is going to be tought the next 4 years and it should be fun to see him and the WR play...there are also a couple of OL/DL kids in that class that will be pretty fun to watch!

Why is it so hard to believe that a high school kid runs a 4.34 40 yd dash at a knoxville combine that is only 5'6" tall and about 175 lbs...and I dont care what he runs in the 100...that is an additional 60 meters and not the short 40 yds...the 40 sets up better for shorter explosive guys to have really good times! And if he was from South Florida you all would say that it was legit but since it is a knoxville kid he is not that fast...I didnt make the time and did not keep the times I just heard them...next level fitness did the events!
