We're coming down tomorrow. My daughter plays with Franklin HS...we have both a Varsity and JV team; and since my daughter is a 9th grader, she is rostered to both. Maybe we'll run into each other...I think we have a game vs Notre Dame.

Great week in Dallas for TN Girls Soccer. Only two states had girls teams advance out of Bracket and into Quarterfinals in U14,15,16,17,18. NTX and TN. (Not GA, not NC, not OK...but TN) The Brentwood U14 girls went undefeated in their bracket, beating: SC State champs 2-0 MS State finalists 4-0 GA State champs 2-1 before loosing in Qtrs to the NTX #2 Team 2-3.

I heard through the grapevine this weekend, that MidSouth advanced as the final West#2 spot(over Harpeth and TN United)....but TNSoccer.org isn't updated yet with scores (surprised?). Any word on what the final game scores were, and if MidSouth is the final team advancing to join Lobos, FC Alliance, and PSA from the state-league and Brentwood and KFC from the R3PL in the State Cup?

Thinking off the top of my head of Mergers. Help me where I forgot or mis-speak. Memphis area Memphis FC and Gemantown Fury became Mid South (2009 Fall) Clubs not participating: Collierville Lobos, Jackson Nike Rush Knoxville area Impact merged with Smokey Mt to become FC Alliance (2009 Fall) Clubs not participating: KFC, Blount United Nashville area No really large merges, just some shifting of a few teams within BWSC, TNFC, and Impact. Existing independent clubs in Nashville area: Brentwood, TNFC, TN United, Harpeth, Metros, Whitehouse Storm, Clarksville Kaos, Stones River, Murfreesboro, Columbia SC Tri-Cities Not sure there.

Looks like all the East games finished up. The final match in the East was BW-Select 4-1 vs BW-Elite, this last week. East: Girls U14 Division 1 East Team................... So with Colliervilles win this weekend, that locks them from the West; so we have three of the 4 teams locked; (Lobos, PSA, and FC A); with the final spot still up in the air between Harpeth, TNUnited, and MidSouth.

We have one girl that plays with us who lives in Gate City, VA; the furtherest away by far (Just over the state line near Kingsport, TN). (She practices with a local college team during the week). Last year we also had a keeper who played with us who lived in Memphis, who also practiced locally there during the week, and with us on weekends, tournaments. As far as kids who practice during the week, we have 3 girls who drive across town from Hendersonville, which is about 70 miles round trip. The rest of our girls this year are from Franklin which varies between 10-40 miles round-trip. We've had other guest-players from time to time from Knoxville, Tri-Cities, and Memphis; but only one (Knoxville) on a semi-regular basis this year (3-4 times). As the girls get older, and more teams dissolve because of disinterest, burnout, club mergers, injuries, etc; I think it is pretty common to draw from pretty far out within the area for older teams.

R3PL website must have the same updater...the games between MS-GulfCoast United and Brentwood, and KFC were completed on March 8th, and they still haven't updated the HotStat page. (As well as the two AR teams game verses each other which was completed weekend before last). I'm a computer guy, and I know how simple it is to update stats...never have been able to figure out why some websites have so much trouble updating their data in a timely and accurate manner. So Lobos is playing in both the East and West brackets....hhhmmmm, I guess that gives them a double-chance to advance. Doesn't get much more West than where they are. Maybe next year Bristol will have a team, and they can play in the West division.

Any idea why the TNSoccer results page isn't showing the results of the missing 6 matches between BW Select/BW Elite/ and Redoubt? Looks like on the West side, Midsouth has withdrawn? And the remaining 4 teams have 4 games left also.

Looks like this year's State Cup is falling into place pretty much like last year, with the same team representation. 2008 95G Participants (8 teams invited) Brentwood Premier Apex KFC Blue PSA Lobos TN United Knoxville Impact Barnes (FC Alliance merger) Brentwood Select Impact Harpeth 2009 95G Participants (6 teams invited) Brentwood Premier Apex -via R3PL KFC Blue -via R3PL FC Alliance (new Impact Barnes merger) -via 1st Seed StateLeague East PSA -via 2nd Seed StateLeague East Lobos -looks like will be the 1st Seed West either Harpeth or TN United for the final spot If I'm right this year, that they are only taking 6 teams (whereas there were 8 teams last year)....if so, and it ends up like the above, then it does appear to be basically the same teams from last year minus the 2-less spots.

My daughter Bethany plays left-back for Brentwood 95G Prem (was Apex before our club standardized names) and will be playing H.S. for Jimmy Burchett at Franklin next year. No other kids playing soccer now, her two older brothers (played back in the 90s at Harperh & Franklin)but are in and out of college...so she's our last one (til grandkids come along down the road). I'm guessing that the early dates that haven't posted scores were either rained-out, (been plenty of that), or just haven't been submitted yet. Not really been keeping up with the State League this year to know what's what, other than who is playing in it, and will be interested to see how the top-4 seeds from it end up who will join Brentwood Apex and KFC Blue at StateCup.

Let's turn this game over from the 2008 season to the 2009 season. A much cleaner interface, and more professional. I wish they would have taken the time to have include a historical archives section of past years state cup results, and state league results. Surely they have that info somewhere in a drawer or a folder or somewhere at headquarters....that type of stuff would be good to show on the webpage, and woulnd't be difficult to put together at all. Same thing with an archive for ODP history. Otherwise, I like the new format.

Glad to see this taking off....Girls Club soccer in TN needs a discussion board; and hopefully the world will get out. If I remember right from your other posts, you are a 95G parent right? That's great, because I am too, and will spread the word of this board to some of our team dads who might want to post. I tried to start up a 95G ranking sight with a discussion forum last year, but it never took off. http://groups.google.com/group/95GSoccerRankings At least this board overall, is a large, stable, healthy board because of all of the other sports talk; so maybe it will continue to grow in the TN travel section. I'll try to check in from time to time. BTW, went through Chatanooga last month on our way to a tourney in Atlanta, and we ate at Provino's....the best Italian restaurant chain in the world!!!! We had a satellite store in Nashville for a while, but it went out of business about 5 years ago...was so glad to find one on Chatt, and several in the Atlanta area.

I think it is the same teams from last years U13-D2 (top flight that year) state league.... (minus Brentwood Apex and KFC Blue doing R3PL this year). Last years Impact-Barnes became this years FC ALLIANCE 95 BLACK And the merger of last years Memphis and Gtown into Midsouth. I don't think there are any new teams in D1 State this year....Murfreesboro did dropped out of topflight from last year.

Redoubt and PSA are the only Chattanooga teams in the U14 D1 state-league. According to TNSoccer.org's schedule East Ridge is playing in the D2 league.
